Title: Troublesome Students
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Gen walked into the headmasters office. She was so furious, but she had to keep her cool. She walked in and Yuni offered her to take a seat and she did so. "Thank you Headmaster. Now I came here to tell you about a certain student who disrupted my Potions class today. She came in and thought she could run the place! She told me I was a dirty half-blood and that professor Amina will never like me again. It was just rediculous Professor. Then I told her to leave my class or take it up with you and she didnt budge. The student also told me that the previous potions professor did a better job than I." Gen stood up now, her hands in fists. "I wont tolerate being treated like this when I am trying to teach a class Headmaster!" Gen said this and sat down. Her face was a bit red as she awaited the headmasters reply.
Finnigan Tatupu - May 29, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
"It's nice to see you too Professor..." Yuni said, he didn't really appreciate people dumping on him without the pleasantries. He took a drink from his glass of Scotch on the rocks. "Who is the problem? I'll get right on it... After all, without education, one has nothing... And if they are disrupting your class... They are not only ruining their own education and therefore life, but everyone else's. Give me their name professor, and they shall be promptly punished." Part of Yuni hoped it would be one of the students he had seen the previous night... How he hated troublemakers...
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 01:50 AM (GMT)
Gen was pleased to see the Headmaster was so willing to punish the said student and in a timley matter. Gen gave Yuni a coy smile and said, "The student in queston is Flame Harshing. Now I dont want the punishment to be too severe, but I would like something done." Gen said.
Finnigan Tatupu - May 29, 2008 03:14 AM (GMT)
"Oh no..." Yuni sighed, "That one..." He paused, not sure if he should divulge what happened. He was visibly turning it over in his mind. He lit a cigar and spoke, "She's troubled..." he said, "She's having some family troubles... Her father... Her surrogate father took her baby... And I guess she's not really sure what she needs to do.." he took a few puffs on his cigar, "What would you like to have happen?" Yuni asked, knowing full well that she needed some leniency. Keeping her out of school wouldn't improve her situation.
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 07:55 PM (GMT)
Gen hadnt realized the seriousness of her situation. "Oh..." she said as she put her hand to her mouth. "Well of course I dont want to punish he severely at all. I feel that if you just had a talk with her, because I dont care what her situation is, she still had no right to pick fun at my hertiage Headmaster!" Gen said. "So I would be pleased if you just had a talk with her sir." Gen said with a smile.
Finnigan Tatupu - May 29, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)
"I know some punishment is necessary. She will respect my staff or she will not be welcome at my school." He ground out his cigar in the ashtray. "I will summon her at once and we will all discuss what has happened, and how we will move forward from here." He jotted down a note and attached it to one of his smallest owls. "She should be here at any moment."
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 10:13 PM (GMT)
Gen stood up and brushed herself off. "Would you likeme to wait for her or do you want to have a private discussion Headmaster?" Gen asked. She wanted to stay, but she would understand if he wanted it to be more private.
Finnigan Tatupu - May 29, 2008 10:43 PM (GMT)
"I think you should stay." The headmaster said, "I think it's important that you confront her and tell her what you think of her actions. As well, I would like your input about what her punishment should be."
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 10:46 PM (GMT)
Gen was pleased with the headmasters decision. She sat down and smiled at the headmaster. "Thank you Yuni." She noticed that the headmaster was previously smoking a cigar. She pulled out her own pack and flashed them at Yuni. "Do you mind?" She said.
Finnigan Tatupu - May 29, 2008 10:58 PM (GMT)
"Not at all," He said. He had smoked cigars for much of his life. He 'quit' when his daughter was born, but he figures what his wife doesn't know won't hurt her... He flicked his zippo lighter and held the flame out for her.
Genevieve Rasmuse - May 29, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
Gen smiled and leaned forward to light her cigarette with Yunis flame. "Thank you Yuni." Gen said. She was sitting in the comfy chair a bit sideways, with her legs crossed. Her arm holding the cigarette was perched on the arm and the other arm was lazily resting on the arm of the chair. Gen looked at Yuni with a smile. "When do you expect the student to arrive?" She asked, with another puff of her cigarette.
Flame Harshing - May 30, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
Flame was p****d off. Not only had she yet to know how it felt for her child to return safely but potions had been rather... Annoying. Usually she loved potions but, at the moment, the professor only annoyed her- she had no idea how to keep Flame going in these lessons, like Scone had, he'd kept her going.
She walked into the headmasters office without even knocking- he'd asked her to come afterall and she ignored the fact that the potions porfessor was here.
"Did he get in touch?"
Finnigan Tatupu - May 30, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Valdez spoke quickly, "No chiquita," Valdez said, hoping to put that issue to rest quickly, "We are here to discuss your behavior and performance in you classes. It is the opinion of myself and of Professor Rasmuse that you are out of line. This will not be tolerated in my school to be disrespectful to your professors because it is disrespectful to me." He paused, "Do I make myself clear?" He asked, expecting some smart remark.
Flame Harshing - June 1, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
She walked away and leant against a wall. "Typical of him. Never replies unless you're playing into his hands, the vindictive little..." Flame's voice trailed off and her eyes turned to the potions professor, cold, hating when the reason she was called here was mentioned. It was one of those looks where, if looks could kill, the reciever would be dead. She ran a hand through her black hair then smirked, cold, much like her fathers, twisted in every way. As she did so, her gaze returned to the headmaster.
"Respect is something that should be earned, professor, and when it comes to me I have to trust you to respect you. The truth is, I don't trust you, and though oerhaps you have done nothing to persuade me not to respect you, I am afraid that she has. You see, me and my cousin are close, and we share the same opinion on her." With that she walked towards the door- if he was smart, the headmaster would lock it before she got there.
Finnigan Tatupu - June 1, 2008 10:57 PM (GMT)
"Miss Harshing, continue if you want to, but if you leave now, you may as well keep walking because you will not be welcome in my school.." Valdez was a person who demanded respect. If he didn't get it, heads would roll. "I suggest you sit chiquita. Sit now. If you have a problem with someone, tell them or tell me so I can help you deal with it." He paused. He needed to say something to make her angry. "Just leave... That's what you Harshing's are best at... Leaving unless it directly benefits you... Just like your father... He abandoned you... Now, I'm the only person who can help you find your father... And you spit in my face... That's just fine... Just leave..."
Flame Harshing - June 2, 2008 04:27 PM (GMT)
Hands rolled into fists and this time she definitely went for her wand, snatching it from her pocket and pointing it straight at her headmaster, Her teeth gritted with pure anger. "I hate you!" she screamed at him, and her power surged through her, that power she'd gained only a year or so before, and this was the only mood she'd loose control of it in. She didn't say anything, didn't mean to do anything, but a huge flame, hot as the inner of a volcano, leapt from her wand towards the headmaster.
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 2, 2008 07:58 PM (GMT)
Gan had been sitting the whole time in silence listening to the two exchange words. Gen wasnt going to get involved yet until someone said something to her. Gen knew they were getting a bit personal and didnt want to interrupt, so she sat there listening.
Then Gen realized that the words got a bit more harsh towards one another so she cautiously put her hand in her robes kept a tight grip on her wand. Then as Flame pointed her wand at the Headmaster Gen stood up. She was prepared. She then jumped back a bit as fire shot out of Flames wand. Gen reacted in a split second. She pulled her wand out and said the incantation for the flame-freezing charm. Once said, the fire turned into a warm breeze just like it should. She looked at Yuni to make sure he was ok, she then stayed standing with her wand out.
Gen was a bit shocked at this. She had never, in all her years knowing about this school and attending it, she had never heard of a student using magic on the headmaster! She didnt know what to do or say, she decided the best thing to do was to stay where she was with her wand out.
If this student was ok with using magic on the headmaster, whats stopping her from using it on me? Gen thought to herself. She flipped her hair out of her face and waited to see what happened next.
OOC: Heres where I got the info on the spell I used!
http://www.hp-lexicon.org/magic/spells/spe...-freezing_charm
Finnigan Tatupu - June 2, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
OOC: Thank you for the reference Gen...
BIC: "Give me your wand Miss Harshing." Yuni ordered, reaching into his desk. He knew he needed Flame to keep his students safe. "You will use this wand for the duration of you years at hogwarts." He had been planning this all along, "It has restrictions on spells you will be able to perform... This is to protect myself, and my staff. You will not be able to perform spells that are specifically meant for harming other people." He paused. "If, for whatever reason, you need or want your wand, it will be in Professor Rasmuse's posession to give to you at her digression. Any questions?"
OOC: And now for a reference of my own... Hagrid's umbrella wand was disabled so that he was only able to perform certain spells...
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 2, 2008 11:24 PM (GMT)
Gen listened as Yuni spoke to Flame. She agreed that Flame needed some restrictions on her wand. Giving her a restricted wand was a good idea, but giving Gen Flames actual wand to hold, now that was surprising. Gen hadnt suspected it, she took the wand for safekeeping and said, "Thank you. I will keep it in a safe place." Gen said pocketing the wand. She sat back down in her chair, suspecting Flame to go into a rage once more. Gen was her own wand gripped inside her robes waiting for Flame to use her fists or whatever else she could find.
Flame Harshing - June 3, 2008 06:42 AM (GMT)
Flame stared at the headmaster and pulled her hand away as he went for her wand, and stared at him lividly. "You aren't having it! You'll never have it. This wand has been in my family for generations. It's perfect and I'm not letting you get it, especially not to give it to some filthy half-blood. No such thing has ever touched it and never will. It's mine, I tell you, all mine."
((sorry, but I'm not letting you take the wand!! this whole power-controlling trouble is part of Flame, restricting that is restricting me playing the character right *frowns*))
Finnigan Tatupu - June 3, 2008 01:38 PM (GMT)
OOC: Fine with me...
BIC: "Miss Harshing, I do not see how you can remain in my school. You have verbally abused my staff, tried to cause physical harm to me, and you have been tardy to your classes." He allowed her to have her wand back. "You have one week to convince me to allow you to stay. If, but the end of the week, you have fixed your behavior, and acted like a good little girl, I might consider letting you stay. However, if I hear one single word about you, you will leave my school. I think that you will check in every day with Professor Rasmuse for detention for the remainder of the year. If I hear anything negative about you... You may as well pack your bags. Do I make my self clear?"
"By the way, Miss Harshing, do you know who Harry Potter is? Do you know who Albus Dumbledore is?" He asked, awaiting a response, "They were two of the greatest wizards of all time and both of them were Half Bloods..." He paused for a second, feeling the tangent coming on, "Ms. Harshing, do you know what most people in the wizarding world think of purebloods? We think that you are horrible inbred. Like hillbillies from America... Your mother is probabily your aunt, and your father is your... Cousin/Brother?" He laughed, trying to make her angry... He knew that, even though she had her wand, he controlled the situation.
Flame Harshing - June 3, 2008 01:54 PM (GMT)
She twirled her wand between her thumb and finger, still gritting her teeth. "I didn't mean for that to happen, you know! It's just...." she sighed. "When I lose my temper I can't control it, it's only been around for about a year, it controlled me for a while, I'm masterring it, but it's hard... It's an animal." she looked at Gen. "And I'm not explaining that until she's gone." she added.
"Oh, and good luck getting me in detention. Only one person ever managed that, and I was watching him, on orders. Seems as I'm not taking orders at the minute, I have no reason to turn up"
Flame rolled her eyes. "Of course I head of Potter. He was annoying, and he'll be avenged one day for his treachery."
Finnigan Tatupu - June 3, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)
"Miss Harshing, you give me no choice but to expel you if you will not meet my demands." He paused to see if she reached the obvious conclusion. He took a fresh cigar out of his pocket. "This," he said, snapping the cigar in two, "is what I have every right to do to your wand right now. I'm sure that would make your family proud... Their bleak hope for the future, that's you corazon, will be no better than a gamekeeper... You will not do magic..." He tsked three times, "That's too bad... I thought you had more potential than this... I guess this falls under the catagory of disappointment..." He paused again, "A disappointment to me, your school, your father... And most of all, your son..." He stroked his small beard, "What will you say to him when he asks you about school? That you got kicked out for something stupid? That's too bad..."
Flame Harshing - June 4, 2008 08:31 AM (GMT)
She hated losing, but this was definitely a lose-lose situation. Her choices were back down or be expelled. Neither sounded to pleasing to Flame. Plus, she was a spoilt brat, she was used to getting her own way. How COULD this be happening to her? She wanted to do something even more stupid, like jump out of the window right nowand hope she'd die. for that was a better choice but instead she sighed. "Why do you do this too me? Do you not realise my work load?" she asked. "I have four nights of homework a week during which I am usually up until two or three in the morning, and on the other three I work, believe it or not, though my work does not concern you at the moment. There is just no way- no way on earth- that I have the time for nightly detentions. Work would go balistic and not at me- at you." She sat on the floor and leant against the wall, wand still in hand and carved a perfect line down her vain so blood splattered the perfectly clean office and then healed her wrist, charming the blood that had escaped her onto the walls and floor so that it would take months to come off, and it would have to be done the muggle way because magic wouldn't work on it. Another little Harshing spell. Still, it was no match for her potions. Now, she turned to the half blood. "Look, kick me out of potions if you like- I'm still sitting the OWL and the NEWT with or without your guidance because I don't need it. If I wanted I could add a lot more to my three gringotts accounts... Yes, three, I inhertited two- one belonging to my b*tch of a mother and one given to me by my father who, I promise you, will one day return."
Finnigan Tatupu - June 4, 2008 01:10 PM (GMT)
"Miss Harshing, you should have considered the consequences before you acted," He acted somewhat surprised when she cut herself, though it didn't really surprise him... He had her pegged as an emotionally disturbed child... "Now look what you've done," he said viewing the walls, "You just continue to make things worse for yourself. Now, you will have to be under suicide watch... Do you know what that means?" He paused, waiting for an answer, then got tired of waiting, "It means that you get to sit in a hospital bed, in a secluded room with nothing in it... And you have to stay all by your self for two days... Then comes the mental evaluation... If you're lucky, they won't put you on some kind of crazy drugs... But you don't seem to be very lucky, do you Miss Harshing?" He was hinting at the loss of her baby... "I suggest that you stop acting insane, and start mending fences around here. I am willing to forgive you, but you must do as I say. I'm certain that with a better attitude, Professor Rasmuse will be willing to forgive you as well..." He repeated himself, "You will meet my demands, or you will pack your trunk tonight."
Aaron Mains - June 4, 2008 03:10 PM (GMT)
She bit her lip, tears pouring down her face. "Please, no... " she begged, eyes on the floor, half replying to the professor and half talking to ehrself, to the vision that had just gone through her head as she'd slit her wrist- the image of her so being tortured using the crucatus curse, even at his tiny size and age. But she'd seen a face and it wasn't Harshing's- it was the headmaster's. She looked at him, wide-eyed. "Don't do it- please don't hurt my baby, I'll give anything just please.... don't." She was shaking, this all stemmed from Harshing, how he'd treated her in the past, the use of Room 101, how her mother had tortured her into the points of view she now held, and now she was scared this headmaster was going to do that to her child to get his point of view across. "Don't, headmaster, don't use the cruciatus on him, not on my poor, poor baby." she was getting desperate. "I'll do anything you want, just don't do it." She didn't know what was really going on, she was stuck in her vision, scared. begging the headmaster in reality to stop something he was doing in the vision. She wasn't seer, she was just struggling from lack of sleep and worry.
(wrong account....)
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 4, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Gen was watching them from across the room. She was listening intently to the conversation between the two. She didnt really know what to do. Detention wasnt necessary, Gen knew how hard it was to keep a job and do school work, and then this poor girl was pregnant too. She didnt feel all of this punishment was necessary. But she did attack the headmaster. She didnt know what to say, so she sat in the closest chair and continued to listen to the conversation.
Finnigan Tatupu - June 4, 2008 10:59 PM (GMT)
Valdez knew immediately what Flame was talking about... It was common knowledge that Harshing loved to use unforgivables on his students. "Flame," he said, looking deep into her soul, "Flame, you need to snap out of it..." He knew for sure she was going to be checked into somewhere, the Hospital wing at the least but probably St. Mungos, for a psych evaluation. She clearly wasn't in her right mind. He held her head so that she would have to look into his eyes. "Flame, look at me... Nobody is going to harm you in that way... Your baby is safe." The last one was a lie, Yuni had no idea how the hell the baby was... "Calm down..." He pointed his wand at her, "This is for your own good... Petrificus Totalus." He held her, just in case.
Flame Harshing - June 8, 2008 07:18 PM (GMT)
((I'm going to bring Lycs in but slack... will be obvious where I put character change))
She tossed and turned, unable to control herself, scared, out of control. Her whole body shook, her eyes were wide, and she kept muttering the same things, 'don't hurt my baby, I'll do anything'. No matter what was said, she wasn't doing anything but moaning, tossing, turning and worrying. Someting needed to be done, and it appeared noone knew what that thing was.
***
Lycs wanted to see Flame. No, he needed to see Flame. He knew she'd be struggling, that she wasn't happy, that things hadn't been going great for her recently. She needed mental support, had been providing it for herself, but something told him tonight was worse than ever before. He walked down the corridors, worried- he'd already checked the common room, scanned the library but to no avail- he couldn't find her. He was about to give up when he heard her voice coming from the headmasters office. He walked to the dor, knocked once and without waiting for a reply walked in. Flame was frozen on the floor. "What's going on?" he demanded.
Finnigan Tatupu - June 8, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
"Professor," Yuni said curtly, giving him a nod of the chin. He had not heard good things about this professor. Apparently, he believed in the Harshing Doctrine... Yuni wished he could fire him, but he had no grounds... Yet... "I don't believe I invited you to this intervention..." He wasn't really certain what to call this meeting, "Miss Harshing has been habitually late, rude to the staff, and uninterested in her education... Not that it is any of your business." He added the last part somewhat snootishly, "She was explaining to me why I shouldn't expel her from my prestigious school, when she began to convulse. I assumed that she had been abused mentally, and probably physically by the headmaster before me... You hero..." Yuni was sick of this person already... "Now, if you have nothing else... Please leave, this is a closed meeting..." He wondered if Flame was in well enough sorts to be released of her full body bind...
Flame Harshing - June 8, 2008 07:40 PM (GMT)
Lycs shook his head, knowing already what had happened. He hurried over to Flame, pushing the headmaster away and stroked her pale sheek softly. This had been happening for a while, and he knew why it was getting wrse, though he would never discuss that infront of the headmaster.
"Flame..." he spoke softly, caring, something none in the room would have witnessed for a long time. "Flame, I need you to listen." He smiled as she fell silent, and carried on stroking her cheek. "I don't think you took your potion before you came, otherwise you wouldn't be like this. You didn't did you?" he asked, then looked at the headmaster.
"Flame struggles with stressand, when the stress builds more, cannot sleep. It causes some rather severe reactions. She created a potion to keep herself calm and, as long as she takes that, she doesn't get like this." He turned back to Flame.
"Snap out of it, I need to know where your potion is."
***
Flame stared at Lycs. She trusted Lycs, he was family, and pureblood. He knew how to calm her, and she found herself listening, even though she was still rather out of it.
"In...." She fell back into the fit for a few minutes then snapped out of it again, carrying on as though nothing had happened. "My case. Hidden in the secret compatment, behind the handwritten books explaining the experiments."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
Gen had been silent the whole time. She didnt feel like she was meant to be here. She was here because a student was disruptive in her class, but it seemed now that everyone was here, even Lycs of all people, were not here for the same reason as Gen. She felt very uncomfortable and definitly didnt want to make Lycs mad, she knew how he got.
So she sat in a chair a little distance from the three. She also didnt want to see Flame struggling like that. She cringed as she saw her movign all over the place on the floor. She couldnt take it. Gen decided to wait and see what else was said before she inteviened.
