It was a warm sunny day. Emily had been waiting for a Sunday like this since like.... yesterday. Emily loved that fact that she had no classes on Sunday's. She was walking around the grounds for a while looking for the perfect spot to have a rest. She kept Violet eyes wide open until she saw it. It was a giant tree. It was perfect for Emily to sit back and relax.

Emily walked over as fast as she could without looking like a dork. Once she got there she but her bag down, lay down and thought to herself This is the perfect spot for a rest and to think about my day.

Emily closed her eyes and fell asleep. About half a hour later she felt something land on her. Emily opened her eyes to see that the was a (add what you want to of thrown at Emily and woke her up here) on her stomach. "HEY WHY YOU DO THAT!" Emily shouted at who ever threw it at her.

April laughed when the rock hit the girl, whom she had recognized as Emily, from poitions. How could you not recognize her? She had blue hair and a certain air about her. April chuckled and jogged over. Emily was sitting under April's favorite tree.

"HEY WHY YOU DO THAT!" Emily yelled in her direction. April grinned sheepishly. Bad grammar. Not good manners... tut tut.

'Sorry, sorry," April said, still laughing. "It was pretty funny. Now you've learned your lesson... don't fall asleep under trees."

As Emily sat up the rock rolled off her. "Yeah, yeah, now I have learned 4 things today, went a teacher says "don't do that or it will blow up" listen, I hate the stairs at this school, no eating in class, and now don't fall asleep under trees".

Emily had met a few people like April before. They could be mean yet nice at the same time. How they could do that, well that is something Emily new she would never be able to work out.

Emily moved her long blue and black hair out of her face (it moved there while she was napping). "So April do you throw rocks at people a lot?". Emily started to play with her tongue stud while waiting for her answer.

Emily seemed to have a habit of playing with her tongue ring.. or stud. Whatever it was. It sort of made April wish she had gotten her own peirced... but then agai nthat was a very Muggle thing to do. She shook off the thoughts, and focused on Emily.

"All good lessons to learn... and I know what you mean about the stairs..." April trailed off.

"So April do you throw rocks at people a lot?".

April chuckled and sat down next to Emily silently, turning to face her properly.

"Well, this was the first time. But, I suppose after seeing your reaction, that I'll hav eto do it again." She smiled widely. Emily was still playing with her tongue peircing.

"Did that... hurt?" she asked cautiously.

Emily stopped playing with her stud. "Did what hurt?... Oh the tongue, it didn't even hurt a little. But it was a place in the wizard world so they put a spell on me so I couldn't feel it. I have gone there for all of them. My nose, my ears, my belly button and my tongue. I'm thinking of getting a tattoo in the holidays". Emily said as she showed April her many piercings.

Emily got out her wand and said a simple spell that did up her hair in a nice bun. It was messy but that was Emily's style and it suited her.

"Why do you think they even made the stairs move? It's kinda stupid then you think about it".

"Oh... that's interesting." April was observing all of the girl's peircings. "I doubt my mother would allow me to get a tattoo... not that I'd tell her. But if she found out, she'd probably freak." April giggled, trying to imagine what her dad would say. She shuddered,

"And the stairs move to confuse people who aren't supposed to be in the castle. It's sort of a safety measure. After awhile, you learn shortcuts and your way around, so it's not a big deal. I'm still adjusting, so I know you feel."

"Ok. Soon I guess I will learn the trick to the stairs".

"I remember what my parents said when I got mind done Emily is the something different about you?. Well maybe not those words but about that. My parents don't really give a toss about what I do"

"So anyway, what was our potions homework?"

April had to privately agree that there seemed to be something different about Emily, but she didn't say anything. Sometimes she wished her parents didn't care what she did, but then she knew that she wouldn't get looked out for as much, and she truly did enjoy that.

"Potions homework? Oh, two to three paragraphs on the Wit Sharpening Potions. Include effects and ingrediants. Really easy. Profesoor Gen told me I got full marks!" April explaining, then realized she seemed like a loser. Whatever, she needed to do well here, and she was doing so.

"Oh yay. Well I guess I gona have to start it sooner or later. I pick later". Emily laughed too herself.

Emily started to bite her nails. She stopped ages ago but she add started to do it again lately. She had haded lots of stress lately. With the whole thing back at BA, moving schools and trying to fit in.

"Oh well. So whats it like back where you came from?"

April laughed; clearly the girl was all for putting off her studies until later. April usually did that, but around this time of year, she tried to get it done so she could enjoy her spare time with no worries at all.

"Back home is just like here, really. We live in the rural part of town in Chelmsford, Essex. We have a big house and a year shadowed by trees so I can play quidditch. My parents call it a mansion, but I feel like it's very braggy, so I tend to not use the word so much."

"What about you?"

As April talked about her house Emily knew what she meant.

"I know what you mean. Well we just moved here from France. I haven't seen our new house yet. But it is probably huge and was millions of dollars" Emily told April

"I have moved a lot. In was born in Paris France. Then we moved to London. We have lived in most of the houses in London I think" Emily giggled. "Then we moved back to France and then back to London".

"But whenever I am back at home. Which is never. I am always out doing something else".

"What about your family, are you close?" Emily asked

April sighed, rolling hre eyes. Topics of her family always got her angry, and she tended to stay away from them. This was because she despised her sister, and she always somehow came up in conversation.

"Well, me and my dad are really close. I'm a little daddy's girl, I guess you could say. My mom adores me, but she's really supercicial and sort of annoying, so I tend to ignore her a lot. And I hate my sister." She ended abrubtly, not offering anything more on her older Gryffindor sister.

"What about you? You said you aren't home a lot, so I suspect you don't get along very well? Or perhaps, I'm jumping to conclusions."

"I know what you mean about sisters. I hate mine. The little princess, always getting her own way. My older brother doesn't help. Yeah I don't get along with my family. They annoy they heck out of me. And now my cousin is coming to stay with us so that will make things better" Emily said sarcastically.

Emily sneezed."Opps sorry. I only sneeze when I smell Tulip "

"Bless you," she said politely.

"Well, that's one thing we have in common. Hating our siblings. Not really a good thing to share, but then again, it is what it is. At least your sister is younger, try having an older sister. She's a pain in my arse," April grumbled.

"What's wrong with your cousin? Don't like them either?"

"She is just like most of my family. Blonde and a snob. She just got an apartment near by so I will have to see her. Luckly she is only staying for the holidays".

Emily remember last time her cousin came to stay. It was Roxane's last year at Hogwarts. She kept on staying that Hogwarts was a dump and bla bla bla. But I that was her opinion.

"Yeah well she is now a fashion designer and is always telling me what I should wear and to take out all my piercings. I just can't stand her. Do you have anyone in your family like that?"

April laughed, nodding slightly. she did indeed have a relative, just like that. And she hated every moment of living with her.

"Yes. That would be my sister, and she's just as obnoxious. Pretty much struts around thinking she owes the house, the school... everything. Pretty obnoxious."

April stalled.

"If I were you, I'd get as far away from them as possible. I can't wait to move out of my house and get away from my sister. And look, now you've gotten me started."

"Oh it's alright. I do that to", Emily replied.

"So your sister goes to Hogwarts?'

April sighed. She hated conversation of her sister, but it was inevitable. At least she could talk about her anger with someone who felt the same way as she.

"Yes. She's a seventh year Gryffindor. I haven't even seen her since I arrived at school. We avoid each other at all costs. She hates me for being an arragant Slytherin, as she puts it, and I hate her for being a traitor to the entire family."

As Emily heard what April was saying she understood. "It's alright I know how it feels. My whole family has been in Slytherin since the start of the school. As my brother says I am a stupid Hufflepuff and I will grow up to be a nothing. That is one of the many reason why my family and I don't get along".

Emily thought about her brother and how they used to be best friends. They did everything together. Playing with toys, flying on their broom sticks and sharing the lollies they would get. But now they could barely stand to be in the same room together.

"Well she will have to get over it one day".

April shook her head, no.

"No, she won't. And I won't either. It's just one of those things, now, for us. Oh, well. I'm still daddy;s favorite." She smiled at that, happily.

"Your whole family has been in Slytherin huh? How come not you? Not mean enough?" she joked.

Emily laughed as she heard April say "Your whole family has been in Slytherin huh? How come not you? Not mean enough?". "I have no idea. The sorting hat is weird that way. I am very different from my family tho. That may be it".

Emily remembered what her parents said when they found out she was in Hufflepuff. There was lots of shouting and screaming. But Emily was used to not getting along with her family.

"Yup all the family has been Slytherins. Your common room is nice. Well the pictures of it on the walls back at home".

April laughed.

"Yes, it's very nice. A bit gloomy, actually, but warm enough and well furnished. You can expect expensive furniture in the Slytherin common room; we're all purebloods or halfbloods, and most of us come from very old money, and a lot of it."

April coughed a bit, trying not to brag.

"I'm sure you don't mind it in Hufflepuff though. Were your parents terribly angry when you weren;t in Slytherin? I remember the fight that ensued after my sister got in Gryffindor. It wasn't pretty. they almost wanted to transfer her"

"Well really I have no real idea how they reacted but I sent them the letter saying what house I was in and they haven't sent one back. But my Grandma sent me one saying that there was A LOT of screaming".

"The Hufflepuff room is good tho. Warm and everyone is nice" Emily replied. "I guess things would have been easier if I got into Slytherin".

Emily was shocked about Aprils parents reaction to April getting in to Slytherin. "They thought about moving her. Wow thats a bit over the top don't you think."

"Yes, well, they don't like Gryffindor ,and my sister was already walking thin lines with them. So they thought about it, but she threatened to move in with my grandmother... she was 11. We didn;t want that."

"And I suppose everyone would be really nice in hufflepuff. Slytherins are nice sometimes, but we tend to fight a lot amongst ourselves, and the girls are.. .well, you know. B----es,"

"Well I haven't met a lot of Slytherins that aren't in my family."

"Hufflepuffs are nice but we can be a bit boring at times. But Gryffindors in my idea are drama queens" Emily replied.

Emily looked up at the tree. She watched as a leaf feel down and landed on her head. Emily shock her head and the leaf feel off.

"Today has been very dull"

"I agree, on both counts. Gryffindors are a bunch of drama queens, and they complain about everything. The boys aren;t too bad, well ,the ones I've met, anyways. they're pretty laid back. And today, has been boring."

She fell back onto the ground with a low thud, staring into the blue sky. At least it wasn't raining. That was a plus.

"It could be worse. You could be inside studying right now, or something. Or being yelled at,. Well, I could go for a good fight right now."

"Ok that sounds good. I don't really care for fights. I always seem to lose".

Emily looked down at April who now lay on the ground. "So not to long till the end of the school year. I can have a nice long fight with my parents about the whole Hufflepuff thing". Emily sighed.

April laughed, but she did feel bad.

"I like fighting, I always win. I'm loud and obnoxious and I refuse to be wrong, or back down. But fighting with your parents is a different story, so I can see how that would be bad."

"Do you have another place to go if you need to?"

"I used to. I had my grandparents on my Mums side back in France. Also I had my friends Anels house that I was going to visit in the holidays but her Dad just died. So if I do go it will be a little rude" Emily said saddly.

Emily remember all the fights she had with her parents. There were a lot of them.

"What about you. When you fight with your parents where do you go?"

"Well, I tend to not fight with my parenst a lot. Only my mother, but never my father. But, when he;s out of town on business, sometimes I go into this little spot I made for yself in the house that no one knows about. Or, I go to my best friend's house, Tyler. He lives next door,which is actually quite a ways down the lane. But I can always go there."

"Yeah I guess so" Emily said

"Well changing subject April, thats up with you and that Aj guy?" Emily asked. "Not trying to be nosy but I have heard things from the younger students".

April laughed out loud, which caused a bird to fly out of the tree above thier heads, and several students to glare obnoxiously in thier direction. April ignored them and turned back to Emily, stiffling her giggles.

"What exactly have you heard from these younger students? Me and Aj are clearly just friends," she replied, but winked at Emily and gave her a look. "But what did they tell you? You shouldn't believe rumors, you know."

April was trying not to laugh. "Well all I know is there is the forest, a tree, and some kissing" Emily laughed. "One student said she had pictures of the crime" Emily said still laughing.

"But I guess thats your business, and not mine" Emily told April.

April stared at her in disbelief.

"They have PICTURES?" she exploded. "Who are they?"

The group of students were now creeping closer, as if there was going to be an actual fight. April was red in the face. The stupid stalers had pictures... that wasn't good.

"You tell me who took the pictures so I can throttle the lot of them!"

Emily moved a bit back. "Hey I don't know. I just heard some 1st years in the Library. I have no idea who they are" Emily told a very angry April.

"Goddamn stupid first years," April grumbled. "Oh don't be afraid of me. I won't attack... you." April was pretty angry. Taking pictures was a bit too far, she thought. There had to be some sort of law against that.

"Anyways, to answer your question, me and AJ are friends, maybe a bit more. I'm not his girlfriend or anything. I don't know if it'll getthat way. I definately like him though."

Emily relaxed again. "Ok. I thought you were going to kill me for a second" Emily told April.

Emily laughed and remembered something. "I can get them for you" Emily told April. "The one who has the pictures is a Hufflepuff. He has been staring at my ass for like a week now so I think he will give them to me".

April sniggered.

"Hit on him until he gives you the pictures. And then burn them." She suggested, laughing. She was so maniacal sometimes.

"That could probably work, you know. Maybe you can end up going out with him, or something. What year are you in, anyways?"

"Ok I'll hit on him for you but I am not going to go out with a 1st year. I'm a 4th year, I'm kinda not into cradle robbing" Emily told April.

"I'll do it for you but you are going to ow me big time" Emily told April.

"Yes, we wouldn't want you to get reported for sexual harassment or something... hitting on an 11 year old," April said, laughing.

"What do I owe you? I'll pay now," she said, jangling galleons in her pocket. She loved the sound of gold coins clinking together. She laughed, smirking, knowing she was showing off just a bit. She pulled one out and played catch with it.
