Experience: The idea of becoming an Unspeakable has captivated Ebony since she first heard of the Fight in the Dept. of Mysteries, indeed the notion of the very existence of such a place fascinated her. With a mind that held a natural longing to decipher as well as being unflappable in the extreme and incredibly secretive, Ebony already possessed the personal qualities to succeed. This desire spurred the girl to actually sit up and take note of her studies and as such resulted in her attainment of the OWL and NEWT grades necessary to become an Unspeakable, applying soon after she left school. At first she was highly disappointed; she’d presumed that she’d be going straight to work as an Unspeakable not, in fact, battling bureaucracy as a secretary for the department. But she persevered and two years later she moved out of the secretarial office and was employed as a general assistant within the department itself. Showing promise in her observational skills and ability to pick up new skills with relative ease, within two years –four years after she was first employed- she was taken on as an Unspeakable and began her proper training in earnest.
