Title: Bloody Potions!
Description: Someone I've yet to RP with

Rebecca Emery - June 7, 2008 08:46 PM (GMT)
Rebecca tried to stop the anger from coming as she once again, for the fifth time in a row ruined the potion boiling in the cauldron before her. She'd been trying for the past hour to get the potion right and each time she failed, letting her anger build up. Moving away from the potion in irritation she closed her eyes for a fraction of a second and wished for a glass of water. When she felt the glass appear in her hand she opened her eyes to take a long drink, enjoying the feeling of the cold clear liquid sliding down her throat as it tried to calm her nerves.

"I've never in my life seen someone so….so stupid to get the same potion wrong five times in a row!" Rebecca exclaimed into the empty room as she glared at the cauldron a few feet away from herself. What she didn't notice though was how tightly her grip was holding the glass of water in her hand and soon enough the glass broke in her right hand making Rebecca jump and drop the glass, or what was left of it, in surprise. Hissing in pain Rebecca held onto her wrist and brought her now bleeding hand to her blue eyes for inspection. Brushing away strands of her long brown hair she cursed at seeing shards of glass in her hand and many cuts, some small while the others larger in the palm of her hand.

“Should have been paying attention…..bloody glass….shouldn’t be so angry….but five times!” Rebecca continued to mutter these things under her breath as she began to pull the shards of glass from her palm, wincing in pain every time. That’s why when the door to the Room of Requirement opened and a person walked in she took no notice of them as she stood in the middle of the room clutching her right hand.

John had been walking around looking for somewhere quiet, the common room and dorms had been noisy, he didn't feel like going outside, and in all honesty, he was about ready to just give up and sit down in the hall , take a nap and pray no one bothered him unless it was really necessary. After walking around for a few more minutes, a door appeared, he had lost track of where he wandered to, so he opened the door, expecting it to be empty.

He was a little surprised to see a girl in the middle of the room, after a moment, he noticed that she was holding her hand, which was bloody. He walked closer to her. "Hello." he said quietly, so he didn't startle her. "Do you want me to help you?"

Rebecca Emery - June 7, 2008 09:06 PM (GMT)
Rebecca was still pulling the many shards of glass from her hand when she heard a voice, a male one to be exact. Jumping slightly she pivoted and glanced to the boy her blue eyes widening slightly and her cheeks red from being flustered. Looking to the boy she noticed he looked vaguely familiar and couldn't help but assume it was because he was a Hufflepuff himself. Even so her thoughts were interrupted by the throbbing pain she was feeling in her hand.

"Oh umm...." Rebecca fumbled as she glanced back to her hand then back up at the boy. "Well....all's I'm trying to do right now is get the glass out. I mean...if you want to do that....I...well I don't care..." Trailing off Rebecca knew she was fumbling over her words and of course like always there was a reason, a couple at that. One she was embarrassed, two the boy startled her and she had no idea what to say, and three her mind was clouded with pain making her train of thought rather slow, so to say.

Nevertheless Rebecca glanced up to the boy her blue eyes now there normal almond shape as she waited to see what he would do.

Johnathan Lawson - June 7, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Once she turned around, and he saw her face, she looked a little familiar, but he couldn't recall a name or really meeting her before. Kneeling down next to her, He got a closer look at her hand, which sure enough had a bunch of pieces of glass in it.

"I'm John." He said, introducing himself as he used his thumb and forefinger to pull out one of the pieces of glass.. "I'm in Hufflepuff, What about you?" he asked pulling out another piece keeping his tone conversational, like he wasn't sitting here pulling shards of glass from a strangers hand. "Can I ask what happened?"

Rebecca Emery - June 8, 2008 04:09 AM (GMT)
Rebecca watched as the boy walked towards her as she answered and kneeled down beside her. The whole time her blue eyes were trained on him still trying to digest what had happened. Though once he introduced himself as John and pulled out one of the glass shards Rebecca jumped a little almost pulling her hand with her, but then remembering she'd said it was okay she relaxed. When John went on to talk conversationally she answered his questions. Wincing every time he pulled another piece of glass out.

"It's nice to meet you John...ouch. Even under the...circumstances. I'm Rebecca....fourth year Hufflepuff..." Saying this part Rebecca flashed the boy a small smile. It looked friendly but was etched with the pain she was feeling. Even so she knew it was better to talk then concentrate on the pain. Though the moment he asked what happened is the moment she thought it better not to converse. Nevertheless she answered.

"Well....let's just say I was angry...and didn't pay attention to how tight I was holding the glass of water," Rebecca answered her cheeks reddening in embarrassment. She usually didn't let things get to her, but potions was just a line breaker. "A stupid mistake...ouch....I know. Anyways I thank you John....you didn't have to do this." Trailing off she glanced to the cauldron a foot or so away and glared at the object. I hate potions, she thought to herself.

Johnathan Lawson - June 8, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
"I thought I have seen you before, I'm in 6th year. Well, I think I got all of the glass out." he said, flashing her his own smile. "You might want to go to the hospital wing and check, and I'm no good at healing cuts either." he admitted, he had never been good at charms in any sense of the word.

"I know I didn't, but I wasn't just going to sit there and watch you pull it all out your self. " No, John had always been the kind of person to frop whatever he was doing and go out of his way to help people, but it was just how he worked, oddly enough it had landed him in his share of trouble, he didn't really think things out all the way. He looked down at the bloody glass, not really sure what to do with it now, or really what to say.

Rebecca Emery - June 8, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
Rebecca smiled as John went ahead and said his year and how she looked familiar. Her smile widened even further when John went ahead and announced he was done. She was greatful and was about to comment when John went ahead and said she might want to go to the hospital wing. She laughed a little and nodded.

"Thank you. I appreciate this. I'll visit later," Rebecca commented then listened as he went on to say he didn't mind in the least. Instantly she pegged him as the kind of person that would step out of his way to help anyone. A trait that could either be good or bad. Smiling Rebecca knew she was pretty much the same way.

Shaking her thoughts away Rebecca suddenly pulled out her wand as she noticed where John's gaze was straying to. Pointing to the pile of glass she said episkey and instantly the glass on the floor was gone, the mess all cleaned up. Glancing back up to John she smiled over at him her blue eyes studying him finally.

"So John what were you planning on doing before you came and insisted to help me?" Her words were spoken conversationally as she suddenly thought of a bandage that she could cover her hand with. When it appeared Rebecca began to wrap it around her hand as she glanced up to John, waiting for him to answer.

"I was just looking for somewhere quiet, I was about to just lay down in the middle of the hall when the door appeared and I remembered where I was." Whoever had said that girls were noisy had never spent time with a group of teenage boys, once you got them together, even the most calm ones got rowdy and quickly with the result of what could easily be described as total destruction.

" So, were you working on potions before I came in?" He asked , noticing the cauldron as he looked around the room for really the first time since he had entered.

Rebecca Emery - June 8, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
Rebecca continued to wrap the bandage around her hand finishing up when John began to speak, answering her question. Looking over her work she nodded briefly to herself before turning her blue eyes to John. She smiled a little at his answer. She knew how it felt to want peace and quiet and she also knew how it felt to not find it. Knowing this Rebecca frowned slightly. She had ruined John's way of finding peace and quiet.

"I'm sorry," she blurted out rather suddenly. Even though it was sudden and confusing to John it made sense to Rebecca because of her thoughts. She felt bad even if it wasn't technically her fault. Sighing quietly her attention was turned back to the cauldron as John asked his question. Grimacing slightly Rebecca nodded.

"Yes that’s why I was so angry. I've been working on the same potion for an hour. And each time I've done it I've messed it up completely. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong..." Trailing off Rebecca walked over to the cauldron and looked into it. After a few moments of staring at the cauldron Rebecca turned to John and asked.

"Are you good at potions?"

Johnathan Lawson - June 8, 2008 10:04 PM (GMT)
"Oh...you don't have to be sorry..." He said a little confused as to what she was apologizing for. "You didn't do anything wrong.

He was thankful when she started talking again"Yeah, charms are like that for me, I can try the same one over and over and over again, but it never works like it's supposed to be. " He said with a sigh, there had been many fusterated days of sitting and trying, and eventually having to take a break.

"I'm decent at them...well more so than I am at charms anyway. Do you want me to see if I can try to help you any with it?" he offered getting up and going to where she stood by the caldron.

Rebecca Emery - June 9, 2008 12:46 AM (GMT)
Rebecca laughed at John’s confused words and facial expressions as she said sorry. Waiting until he was done speaking she went ahead and explained. "Well you said you wanted to be some where quiet and I kind of ruined that for you. That's why I said sorry." Saying this Rebecca shrugged slightly then turned her attention back to the cauldron as she asked her question.

When John went ahead and answered Rebecca grinned asking, "Would you? Hopefully you'll be able to find what I did wrong."

OOC: Sorry so short!

Johnathan Lawson - June 9, 2008 01:31 AM (GMT)
"Well, this is better than trying to take a nap in the hall." He said, happy that she had explained herself so he wasn't babbling like a confused idiot, which he found he was most of the time, but that was beside the point."Well I can try, but I'm not going to guarantee that I do any good."
(that's ok my brain is dead.)

Rebecca Emery - June 9, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Rebecca laughed aloud at John's comment about it being better than sleeping out in the hall. He was right and she knew that in turn she really didn't need to say sorry. After all hadn't she just saved him from the predicament of sleeping out in the hall. Laughing quietly at this she shook her head as a thought came to her.

"So you need the peace and quiet to sleep? Have you been loosing some lately?" Asking this Rebecca watched John with her blue eyes a little worried. If he was as tired as he said he was then she knew he probably shouldn't be messing with the potion. Nevertheless Rebecca kept her mouth shut until she he answered her question.

"Well I can try, but I'm not going to guarantee that I do any good."

Hearing this Rebecca shrugged, a smile on her lips. "Oh don't worry if you can't. At least you look at it and tried too right?"

Johnathan Lawson - June 10, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
"No, I just wanted to have an excuse as to why I haven't some of my papers yet." he said with a smile, he usually wasn't such a procrastinator, but he just hadn't wanted to do it.

"Yeah, I haven't blown anything up on accident since my first year.
" he said jokingly."So what exactly are you trying to make?" He asked her, looking in the cauldron he really wasn't sure what it was supposed to be.

Rebecca Emery - June 10, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
Rebecca laughed a little at what John said. She knew exactly how it felt to not want to do homework but be off somewhere else and having fun. Even so she never did knowing her grades were much more important. Nevertheless Rebecca knew she could dream. Shaking her thoughts away Rebecca listened to John as he asked what she was making. Smiling a little she spoke.

"Wit sharpening potion," Rebecca answered wryly. It was sort of ironic and she couldn't help but laugh. If she had made the potion correctly and had taken it she wouldn't have been having problems and this incident would have never happened. Then again she thought, looking on the brighter side of things, Rebecca knew then she wouldn't have formally met John. Either way this incident had it's pros and cons.
