Title: Painting Nails and Pillows.
Description: For Jenna
Guinevere Kibben - June 8, 2008 10:36 PM (GMT)
It was true you know; even tom boys had moments of girly weakness. Guinn was no exception, she might had been raised by a male house hold and spend most of her time crawling in the mud whilst looking after the latest animal at Hogwarts but she still liked to pamper herself once in a while. Well it turned out her tom boyish friend Jenna did too. So once in a while the girls agreed to meet and spend a saturday night hanging out and pampering themselves, a sleep over of sorts. Now this was a plan easier made than done since they were from differing houses. But that was nothing the room of requirement couldn't fix.
And the brings us to the reason why Guinn was currently sat waiting in the room of requirements. The room at the moment resembled a pillow factory, with blankets and boxes of things pushed agianst the edges of the wall. The pillows formed a rather larger circle that could have been used to sleep about ten people with extra space. The boxes were full of books, chocolate's, makeup and other essentials for the girly night, these didn't belong to the room of course but Guinn and Jenna. They had there own collection of supplies by this point; they were seventh years after all.
Guinn was currently sat in the middle of the pillows, wand placed neatly to one side as her arms were wrapped around the middle of a scruffy looking Panda Teddy, her blonde crop of hair pinned back with a blue bow shaped clip that matched her light blue pajamas. Pajamas which were a pair of panda patterned shorts and matching plain spaghetti strap top. A pair of fluffy slippers donned her feet and her school robe, which had covered the pajamas on her way here, was tossed into a corner somewhere. She was sat waiting and staring at the door, waiting for Jenna to arrive and state the secret word (Kiwi) that would open the currently locked door...

Jenna had completely lost track of time, she'd spent the day outside, and Jenna being Jenna, had almost forgotten about her previous engagement with Guinn. But she'd scurried to the common rooms to get changed and then rushed over to the room of requirement, hoping she hadn't kept Guinn waiting for too long, Once she'd reached where the room should be she stated the password that should get her in. "Kiwi" and sure enough the door appeared right before her.
"Sorry I'm late!" Jenna exclaimed as she bounded in. It was their weekly sleepover of sorts, a night to pamper themselves. She always looked forward to these nights, it was her girly side coming through that not many people got the chance to see. She plopped down beside Guiin, grinning as she slipped off her Hufflepuff robe to reveal her pajamas, blue plaid boxer shorts, and a white cami. "I didn't keep you waiting too long did I Guinn?"
Jen looked around the room and couldn't help but grin, there were years of stuff piled up in here. It was going to be hard leaving all of this behind. "So what's on the agenda tonight?" She asked gleefully, still taking in the contents of the room as she reached over and grabbed her teddy, a rather scruffy looking dog that she'd named Bart.

Guinn very almost squealed when Jenna came through the door. Despite her mud loving nature she did love these kind of nights, and she was glad her and Jenna had started the tradition long ago. As Jenna plopped down on the cushions at her side the door shrank into non existence, it always sealed afterwards until either of them wanted to get out it kept out he riff raff.
Guinn eagerly turned her body towards Jenna, so she was now sat across from her. A bright grin across her lips as she clutched tightly onto her Panda, who was called Jasper. Jasper was old and seemed to be full of beans and fluff rather than just fluff. Obviously both teddies had lived with their owners for a long while not that they made them any less loved. She vaguely waved Jenna's apology away with her hand before returning it to its grasp on Jasper.
"Blah, your always late Jen, why change the habit of a life time?" Guinn giggled lightly to show she was only teasing, the sound was bright and full of life. Much like the girl it came from. Without waiting for a response she grabbed her wand and accio-ed some chocolate from a near by box, after all being lazy was part of the fun.
"Want some?" she offered a piece towards Jenna vaguely as she slid a piece into her own mouth, jasper now sat on her crossed legs. As she thought she nippled on her lower lips, she was obviously a person who openly expressed her emotions.
"Oh i don't know, where to start is a better question!"

Jenna grinned, boy did she love these nights. She really looked forward to them. It was really her only chance to get to hang out with Guinn, besides that, it was the only pampering she ever got. Being a tomboy, she wasn't much into the girly stuff, but that didn't mean that she didn't like to be pampered.
Looking at Guinn's scruffy teddy, Jasper, Jen couldn't help but feel somewhat nostalgic. These teddies had been to every girly sleepover they'd had, sharing as many memories. She loved that even though they were both 17 and about to leave Hogwarts, they still held on to their teddies as if they were just little kids.
"Good point. Well at least you expect me to be late at this point," Jen said with a bit of a giggle as she shrugged. Leaning back, Jen picked up another box, curious as to what was in it. Just nail polish. Figures. Still, she looked through the contents curiously. She laughed, thinking about how old these colors were and trying to think what they must've been thinking when they bought some of these.
Jen looked eagerly at the box Guinn offered. "What kind of question is that? Of course I want some!" She said with a laugh, taking a piece of chocolate quite happily. This really was the the way to live. Pampering was so well needed.
"Jeez. I don't even know. I guess just go with the flow!" She grinned. "You know, I'm gonna miss these nights. I think we're going to have to keep the tradition alive, even if we don't have this room anymore."

Guinn grinned as Jen took some chocolate. She couldn't stand it when people turned down good chocolate, it was a silly thing to get mad over but she never really got mad over much else so she had to vent somewhere. Jen obviously would know this by now and also knew the perfect way to turn the chocolate down without annoying Guinn, just say 'more for you'.
She watched Jenna dig through the nail polish with Kean eyes, spotting some of the oldest and favoritest colours in there. Seeing some brought back memories, like the day she went swimming in the lake with bright pink toenails. With a small giggle to herself she nodded in agreeing with Jenna; go with the flow.
"Do you think my toenails would look nice in orange?" She didn't wait for a response before kicking her slippers off and reaching over for the oddly shaped foam thing that separated toes as you painted toenails, she didn't pick a colour just yet though.
It was then she realised Jenna's last statement and a sad yet happy smile was plastered on her lips as she placed Jasper at her side. "Of course we'll have to carry this on, different houses couldn't keep us apart, leaving Hogwarts wont...Though we'll have to move all this stuff and i don't even know what I'm doing yet! What about you Jen?"

"Chocolate is seriously the best invention in the world. I dunno what I'd do without it to be honest." Jenna stated rather absentmindedxly as she took another piece. She knew that one of Guinn's biggest pet peeves was turning down chocolate, it was weird, but rather amusing. Just watching the faces of the poor souls who turned it down and then getting in an argument over. Luckily for Jenna, she'd learned how to win on that one.
"I wonder if there's such a thing as color changing nail polish, where the color just changes randomly. . . If not, then we should invent it," Jenna thought aloud as she continued to search through the box looking for a good color.
She looked up at Guinn as she asked about orange. "I say go for it. If you get the right orange, it could look really good. You could even try drawing a flower on it as well," Jenna suggested. "What color should I do? I'm thinking a dark purple or something. Not too dark, mind." She leaned over and grabbed her own pair of the toe things, blue ones, and slid them between her toes. After taking off her slippers of course.
"Good. I'm glad to hear that really. I was worried we weren't gonna be able to do this anymore. I've no idea what I'm doing either. It seems like everyone else has these great, amazing plans, and I still don't even know what I'm gonna do." She sighed heavily. She hated this topic, yet it seemed to be coming up more and more. Perhaps that was because the end of the year was nearing and she needed to sort things out soon.

After hearing Jenna's agreement she reached forward and grabbed the dull orange nail varnish, intending to paint flowers on her toe nails afterwards like Jenna had suggested. Despite the fact it was unlikely anyone would see her toe nails. With a grin she looked through the box for a purple shade to suggest in the end pulling out a bottle of dark violet and balancing it, still closed on a pillow. She had nodded in agreeing with Jenna's reply about the future, she herself didn't have a clear plan but a vague idea. Who knows what would happen.
"What about that colour? Its purple-ish. You should paint silver stars on afterwards, that would look funky." She grinned before setting about painting her first toenail, since they were already kept in immaculate condition cut and filed. Using quick careful strokes she'd already painted her big toe of her left foot, stopping to rest the brush back in the pot raising her eyes back to Jenna.
"This is going to take two coats." she sighed, but the grin never left her face, almost like she was happy about the extra work. Her tone as she continued was still happy but slightly more serious. "You know i still have that money dad gave me for when i first move out. I was thinking, i could get a little apartment in wizard London, work in diagon ally or something? You could live with me of course." she giggled and although she was saying it as a joke she would have been quite happy to share a flat with Jenna. Her eyes glowed as she thought of an idea.
"I know! We can rent a shop premises, live above it and sell colour change nail varnish, once we invite it of course." she laughed at this point. There had to be something they could do after Hogwarts...
