Title: In a Whole New Light
Description: Gen!!
Lycs Anima - June 9, 2008 08:14 PM (GMT)
Lycs sat in a secluded corner of a small pub, away from the crowd of people who gathered at the bar and away from windows where people culd spy. He wore a travelling cloak, the hood pulled over his head to hide his face, him and Gen needed to talk urgently, and noone needed to know it was him.
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Gen walked in. She heard that Lycs needed to talk to her. She wore clothes that were less cheerful, so she could be discreet. She wore black leather pants, black heels, and a black top that was falling off the shoulders. Her hair was curly as usual. She knew where Lycs liked to sit and what he would be wearing, so when she walked in, she noticed him right away. She walked non chalantly towards him and sat down. She leaned back in her seat and looked at him. She didnt have a clue what he wanted. It was silent for awhile so Gen spoke up. "What do you need?" She asked.
Flame Harshing - June 9, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Lycs looked up and surveyed Gen. He took in her hair, her skin, everything, from a view that was no lnger biased. Outside of school, away from the spies, he was a different person.
"To apologise for my behaviour. It has been unacceptable. I need to tell you why... I need to explain." He hated the fact Gen hated him.
"Will you listen?" he asked, taking a swig from his firewhisky.
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 08:54 PM (GMT)
Gen looked at Lycs sideways. She was so cunfused. She waved her hand to the bar maid and got a firewhisky. She took a sip of it and said, "Continue."
Lycs Anima - June 9, 2008 09:04 PM (GMT)
He looked at her, unsure whether she was actually going to listen to his explantion.
"In my family you hae to choices- comply to the rules or be killed. Pureblood mania is oneof the rules." he looked down. "I know it seems likeno excuse, but Flame is a spy, everything I do inside of Hogwarts she knows about, she follows me. Everything gets reported to her father. I do one thing wrong Gen, one thing, and I'm dead." he paused.
"What I'm trying to say is I don't hate you, as it may seem, but I need to save my own skin here. Forgive me," He pushed the money for Gen's drink into the maids hand. "Please."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
Gen listened as Lycs went to and talked about his family. Gen rolled her eyes as he wasnt looking. She drank her firewhisky and listened. Shet hen heard him say he would be dead talking to her. She looked at him with wide eyes. "I knew your family was crazy, but I didnt know they would kill their own kind just for associating with someone like, me." Gen hated saying it, but wizards would be wizards. "I forgive you. But I would like to be friends. But I doubt thats possible."
She gave him a sweet smile as he paid for her drink. "Thanks" she said. She had never seen Lycs this way. He was friendly to her when they had their fling, but since that, this is the nicest hes been. "So anything else you have to say."
Lycs Anima - June 9, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
Lycs flashed her a smile. "We can be friends, we just have to stop Flame finding out and running to daddy, because daddy will kill me. My family are completely psychotic- I mean, look at Harshing and his lapdog daughter... Who, I'll tell you, is a rich brat. She got everything that was supposed to be mine when Harshing fell." he gritted his teeth. "I hate it." He glanced around. "Can you keep a secret?"
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 09:36 PM (GMT)
Gen was listening intently to Lycs. He had never told Gen about his family, and now that he is, its kind of interesting. "I dont think Flame deserves the things that should have been yours." Gen said. She then heard him ask her a question. She leaned in farther and whispered. "Yes, I can."
Lycs Anima - June 9, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
The bit his lip, obviouslyhiding someannoyance. "He didn't even knew she existed until she got to Hogwarts, even then it tok him years to figure out.Once he did it was all Flame-this, Flame-that, Flame-the other, it drove me mad. Most of that money- those estates- they were drafted to me before that sl*t turned up." He hit a wall. "She f*cks Sentinus and gets pregnant and daddy takes it off her, because she can't cope, she needs to d school work. And she acts like that affects her at all? She was already one f*cked up cow, who relies on potions to kep her in check. A genius, yes, but insane." HGe relaxed, then smiled at Gen, placing a finger to his lips before turning into a red fox and back again. "I'm not registered- Harshing hates Animagus."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 9, 2008 09:59 PM (GMT)
Gen was listening to Lycs. She was a bit shocked to hear him call her all of those names. She listened nevertheless. She was a bit confused on the whole situation. "So her father didnt know she was alive forever? Is coldstone your father? Who did Flame have the baby with?" Gen kept asking questions then she saw him turn into a fox. This made her jump but giggle. He turned back to normal. "Oh thats clever!" She said. She called the bar maid once more and bought anotehr firewhisky.
Lycs Anima - June 11, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
Lycs smiles at Gen and once again paid for her drink, eyes never leaving her.
"Harshing and the girl's mother were, in a word, enemies, though they were both sent to Azkaban for serving the same cause- the death eaters.
Both thought they were going to die in there and so, on the boat heading for the prison, decided to taste how it felt to give one self to the enemy.
Of course, neither died, and the girl was born in a cold cell, surrounded by the hooded guards of Azkaban- dementors.
They took her from her mother and she was brought up with family who abused her both physically and mentally. When her mother got out the family handed the girl over.
She was led to believe that her father was Ralphodus Lestrange and everyone believed it. But Harshing, who had been released long before and was the defense against the dark arts professor when she joined the school watched her carefully.
It eventually became apparent she was his daughter when she found and operated room 101, which is something only very close blood relatives of Harshing can do." He sighed.
"And that is how Harshing came to know of his daughter's existance. Of course, since then, other evidence has revealed itself including her great and sometimes incontrollable power that I believe you encountered in the headmasters office the day I walked in.
Harshing granted her his name and gave her everything when he fell from glory and I, his cousin who stood by him despite everything, am left with nothing." His hands were clenched tight, through the whole recollection, and when he unclenched them there were nail marks on his palms.
He breathed deeply for a few minutes, calming himself down.
"Gen, I'm glad you understnd my situation, but I was wandering if you'd like to go out sometimes next week? I know a nice place where I can actually show my face, knowing they won't be around."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 11, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
Gen listened to Lycs's whole story. She was confused, mostly because he was telling her thins, of all people why her? Gen felt bad for Lycs. She didnt know what to say or do. Last week, Lycs hated her, and now he was spilling everything to her.
"Im so sorry to hear that. You deserve all of his things. You're teh oen who stood beside him the whole time. It just doesnt seem fair." Gen said. That was the best she could come up with at the moment.
The next thing Lycs said shocked her the most. "Go out? When, where, and what for?" Gen said. She had to know the details. Lycs being so nice to her all of the sudden, she couldnt help but think he was up to something.
Just then, Gen asked something she had been pondering for awhile now. "Why are you telling me all of this Lycs?" Gen said.
Lycs Anima - June 11, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
He hates himself. He had been so cruel, and he knew he'd hurt Gen. He wanted to make things up, but didn't even think she wanted to hear it. Still he'd had to try, and he thought things had gone well. She had, at least, listened, nor had she attacked him about his previous behaviour. He still liked Gen... More than he would let on.
"Thankyou, Gen, but I have to wander if you actually mean that after my behaviur recently." he said, vice dull.
"I realise I haven't behaved as I should. I wanted you to understand. The truth is, I never stopped liking you Gen, and I just want to go somewhere that I can let go a little, where I don't have to hide myself in a corner, be quiet or anything. I thought in a little village not far from mine, in a little cafe for some lunch and to talk in a more relaxed mannor."
"I tell you all this because there is a lot you need to understand. About me and... About Flame, she told me you're the reason she was in the office that day."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 11, 2008 09:10 PM (GMT)
Gen didnt know what to think. "I forgive you Lycs. I know you were only mean to me because you had to." Gen was a bit shocked to hear that Lycs still liked Gen. She still had feelings for him but pushed them aside since they could never be together. Something about the bad boy look made Gen weak.
"You want to take me out? Well when? Im always up for something new, and Id definitly like to catch up with you, hear some stories and such." Gen said smiling.
"The only reason I had Flame in the headmasters office is because she called me a mudblood and said a lot more things to me. I had no choice but to make he go to the headmasters office. I wont take being called a mudblood." Gen said defensivley.
Saying this reminded Gen of something. "Dont YOU still hate the fact that Im a mudblood?"
Lycs Anima - June 11, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
He smiled at her. "Thanks Gen, It's nice to know you understand that. When life hangs on something like that you sort of cling but I just can't do it anymore, I can't treat you like that." Eyes darted to the floor for a second, then back to Gen.
"I want to take you out Gen, whenever it suits you, to a small cafe near my place where we can eat and drink." he smiled, a soft and handsome smile. "I don't hate you Gen, I never did, it's just my family. And Flame was raised that way, don't be too harsh."
Genevieve Rasmuse - June 11, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
Gen smiled. She was so glad that Lycs was going to be nice to her now. This was fairly important to Gen seeing as how they are coworkers and such. Gen took a drink of her firewhisky and was feeling a bit tipsy. She ordered another and paid for it before Lycs could get to it.
"Thanks for being so open and nice to me Lycs, I really appreciate it." Gen said taking another big drink of her firewhisky. "This whole going out and having something to eat sounds good to me. When do you want to do that?" Gen said.
