Title: Sister's Bruises
Description: Um, Robyn broke her arm.

Robyn Singe - June 9, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
Ravyn screamed at Robyn, and Robyn stared at her, knowing she was falling abart.
"You inconsiderate brat!" Ravyn yelled. She had Robyn cornered. Robyn still said nothing.
"How dare you!" She slapped Robyn, hard. "Spreading rumors around about me!" She pushed Robyn through the dorm door. Robyn still did not speak. Robyn felt a tear fall from her face.
Ravyn just had a ball at that, "You baby! Talk to me! Say something you rumor spreading idiotic just-like-mom brat!" And Ravyn pushed Robyn down the stairs, hard. She heard her arm crack as she landed on it. Robyn struggled up, and made her way out, still not saying a word.

Robyn finally made it to the Hospital Wing. She leaned herself up against the door frame and held her arm. She looked at a nurse, "it...broke. My arm." Robyn said simply. She didn't say, My evil twin sister pushed me down the stairs and almost KILLED me, but she merely siad, It Broke. Robyn was told to sit on a bed and wait, she did patiently. Wasn't the first time Ravyn had broken one of Robyn's bones, and this was actually NOTHING compared to what she normally did...

Jer had been busy with paperwork when a nurse came in and interrupted him, but for a good reason. She said, if he'd heard her correctly, that a girl had just come in saying her arm was broken. Instantly forgetting about his paperwork Jer made his way out of the only office in the Hospital Wing and into the room which held all the beds. His hazel eyes looking through his glasses he noticed a girl who was sitting on a bed not to far from him. Striding over to her without a moment's hesitation he knew there was no mistaking the pain that was etched on the young girl's face. He frowned slightly at this news wondering all along how she had come to brake her arm.

As he made his way to the bed Jer pulled out his wand from his cloak pocket and conjured a rolling chair. When it appeared before him he sat down and rolled over next to the bed beside the girl. The first thing he did was look to her and flash her a gentle yet reassuring smile. After all he didn't want to scare her.

"Hello there," Jer announced first his tone of voice friendly. Glancing to the girl's arm which she held protectively he extended hi right hand and asked, "May I take a look?"

Robyn watched the healer come in. She blew her bangs from her face but it only seemed to put more hair in her face. She would’ve brushed it out with her non-broken hand but it was currently holding the broken arm. She thought about the time Ravyn had actually cracked Robyn’s skull. Robyn had been in a coma for two weeks, but Ravyn got no punishment because Robyn merely said I don’t know how it happened, I don’t remember. Although, that was a lie.
Robyn smiled weakly, “Hi. And yea, not the first time it’s been broken though, that’s how I know it’s broken…” She had broken it before in a fight at her Muggle school. The girl had cheated on Tristan and that had made Robyn really mad. The girl was hospitalized for about a month; Robyn got the good end of it. Robyn didn’t want to explain HOW her arm had broken this time. She didn’t want to put the fault on Ravyn and her temper, even though Robyn should.

As Jer watched the girl go deep into thought he took in her appearance. His hazel eyes studying her arm from afar as he waited for her consent. When she finally did speak it was hesitant. Looking up to her face he saw her weak smile. Smiling at the young girl he made sure it was soft and reassuring. Almost telling her with that one look that everything would be fine and she’d back to normal in no time. After he did this Jer took her arm gently into his hands and examined it moving slowly and gentle trying to see her arm from all angles. Next he ran his hand over her arm being yet again gentle, glancing up every few seconds to make sure the girl was doing alright. To distract her from what he was doing he suddenly spoke.

“So what’s your name? I’m Jeraud or Jer by the way. Call me whichever you please.” Saying this Jer flashed the girl his trademark lop sided grin before going back to work. He wanted her to be comfortable and distract her from the pain he knew she would be feeling at the moment. After all who’d ever heard of a broken arm without pain?

Robyn cringed a bit when he took her arm. She felt he was doing his best, and she didn’t want to sound like a brat, although she would if she felt like it. Robyn had never had magic heal any of her broken bones; she normally just kept quiet and let it heal. That’s why a few of her bones in her fingers where a bit crooked. She had decided against telling anyone what had happened, and although the professors had looked at her curiously when she cringed as she wrote, they said nothing.
“mm.. It’s Robyn. Or Roby, some people call me that. My twin doesn’t, she thinks nicknames are stupid.” Robyn shrugged, and winced, having forgotten about the broken arm. “But I think I’ll call you Jer, because I’d feel really bad if I mispronounced your name.” Robyn smiled back at him, and again went over how exactly her story would go when she was asked what happened. ‘I fell’ seemed idiotic, ‘I fell down the stairs because I’m just clumsy’ was awful, and ‘my twin pushed me down the stairs because she knows a secret about me and just because I’m telling you it’s her fault I’m injured she’s going to tell everyone and I’ll probably get expelled’ was… well… not only a mouthful, but not possible for Robyn to say. She knew Ravyn heard everything. Robyn didn’t understand how that worked, but Ravyn heard EVERYTINHG.
“I’ve broken my arm before… but it was in New York and my friends where there and they’re muggles so I had to go to the hospital to get it fixed. I had to wear a cast forever! But they told me it would help fix it, but I think fixed means it shouldn’t break again. That’s just me though…” Robyn shrugged, again wincing. She was 8 when it broke, and that being 6 years ago, she didn’t remember how much it hurt.

As Jer glanced up every so often he could tell even though he was being as gentle as he could their was still pain involved as he moved and inspected her arm. He apologized at this letting his hazel eyes glance up to the young girl to show his sincerity before turning his attention back to her arm. When he finally heard the girl announce her name, Robyn, and go on to say she didn’t want to pronounce his name wrong he chuckled softly.

“Don’t worry Robyn, Jer is perfectly fine. Most people call me that anyways. My mother is really the only one who call’s me Jeraud,” Jer announced flashing Robyn a grin before going into silence. When the younger girl broke it by speaking on how she’d broken her arm before he nodded here and there to show he was listening. Hearing her experience with muggle casting and how much a pain it had been to where the thing Jer nodded once again. He knew, from many of his muggle patients, how much a pain they were. “I know what you mean. I remember my muggle patients always complaining to me. Part of me wanted to reduce their….“suffering” by using magic to repair their broken bones, but of course I couldn’t.” Shrugging his shoulder with a small smile on his face he went back to work for the last time.

After a few moments he handed Robyn back her arm and leaned back into the chair he was sitting in. Taking off his glasses to rub his eyes Jer announced, “It is broken as you said. So what I’m going to do is go back and grab an ointment which I’ll rub on your arm then I’ll say a spell or two and you should be good as normal. The ointment by the way will numb the pain as the spell’s I say heal your broken arm. So therefore you’ll feel no pain at all while the repairing happens. How does that sound?” As he finished off his words with a question Jer put his glasses back on and glanced up to the girl smiling at her. He wanted her to know what he was going to do before he did it, so nothing would be a surprise. It was best that way, he’d learned from experience.

Robyn merely nodded, feeling distracted. She would get like this sometimes; just her mind would wander off. The doctors had said it had something to do with the bipolar thing she had. She wondered if her medicine was with her, and remembered that it was in her bag which… was in her dorm. Robyn decided she wouldn’t go up to her dorm once she was a bit better. Or she would wait for April to come up with her. She bit on her lip ring patiently, it was a habit that Robyn had, and she always needed to chew something. It kept her nerves down, and kept her from immediately blowing up on someone for no good reason.
Robyn looked back up at him when he began to tell her about what he was going to do.
“Mmmmk… that sounds good.” Robyn shrugged, and winced. She never realized how much she shrugged. “No pain sounds way better then cringing every time I shrug. Makes me realize how much I do it.” Robyn smiled at him, and looked at the broken arm for a moment, sighing. This was much better than at home, at home she could be bleeding out of her skull and it would take DAYS maybe even WEEKS for anyone to notice.
