Title: Wizard Chess
Description: Jenna

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 02:07 AM (GMT)
AJ was sitting in the Great Hall setting up his Wizard Chess set and waiting for Jenna, who he had bumped into a few days ago and they hit it off immediatly. Both were rather serious students.

His black set was ready and waiting anxiously for their oppenents.

"Oi, quiet down there." He yelled at his pieces.

He noticed the Hufflepuff girl walking in, "Hey Jenna." He said with a wave.

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 02:17 AM (GMT)
Jenna was running late, as usual. Of course, she was always in a rush no matter what she was doing. She stumbled into the Great Hall, spotting AJ immediately. A ravenclaw whom she'd only just met a few days ago.

"Hey AJ! Whats up?" She said, sliding into the seat across from, somewhat out of breath having rushed here. "Hope I didn't keep ya waiting too long. Unfortunately, I have a habit of being late."

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 02:19 AM (GMT)
He smiled at the girl, "No big deal. I was okay, but my pieces were getting antsy."

She sat down opposite him and he leaned back and cracked his back. He was quite sore from the things that had happened recently.

"How have you been?" he asked leaning back over the table.

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 02:25 AM (GMT)
"Ah well, as long as you don't mind too much, then I'm not too worried. Sorry though." Jen smiled apologetically, hopefully assuring AJ that she really was sorry for being late. She might hate being late, but that was just who she was.

"Me? I've been absolutely fantastic actually." She grinned, suddenly realizing this for the first time. It was true. This past few days, or even weeks, had been amazing for her, and she was happier than she had been in ages. "What about you?" She asked, pouring her bag of wizard chess pieces on to the table(not to the likes of the pieces) and set them up.

((She is playing AJ at chess right?))

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
He looked as she poured her bag out. He loved to play wizard chess but was not the best at it.

"Hope you're ready to lose!" he joked, realizing he would probably get crushed by his opponent.

"Want some pumpking juice or butterbeer?"

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 02:37 AM (GMT)
Jenna laughed, "I think I've prepred myself well enough for that. But I wouldn't get too cocky, I might just turn around and crush you on this one." Of course that was less than likely. She honestly and truly sucked at wizards chess, in fact that was an understatement. She was willing to bet she was going to make a fool of herself this time around.

"Butterbeer sounds fantastic actually. And you never answered my question!" Jen said, poking her tongue out at him. "How've you been?"

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
As she said that a house elf appeard with two butterbeers and placed them on their table.

"Thanks." he told the elf.

He started play, not knowing any strategy. For a while they moved their pieces, every now and then taking an oppenent off of the board.

"Lucky the pieces know how to play, because I have no clue what I am doing."

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 02:58 AM (GMT)
"Thanks" Jenna said to the little elf before it disappeared. She took the butterbeer gratefully, savoring it's taste as she sipped at it.

Jen watched intently as the game went into play. She pretended like she really knew what she was doing, but the truth of the matter was that Jen was absolutely clueless. She was terrible at chess and had no idea what was going on. At that point she was beginning to wonder why she'd agreed to this, knowing how much she sucked.

Laughing at AJ's statement, Jen admitted, "Yea me too. I really don't know how to play at all." And with that several of the little pieces looked at her grumpily, causing her to laugh once more.

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 03:32 AM (GMT)
AJ was happy to find out that someone other than himself didnt know how to play wizards chess.

"Maybe we should just quit this game and do something else?" he suggested.

He drank some butterbeer, and found out just how much he enjoyed firewhiskey better. AJ pulled his wand out trying to transfigure the drink into his preferred drink. He failed, which suprised him. He frowned a bit.

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
"I think that that could be a very wise idea. We might be sitting here for hours otherwise," Jen admitted. In fact, she was quite relieved that AJ had voiced the idea. "But what do you suggest we do?"

Jen watched as AJ cast a spell on his drink, she could tell that it wasn't going as planned by the expression on his face. "What exactly are you trying to do to your drink?" Jen asked, curiously.

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 03:40 AM (GMT)
He smirked a little, "Trying to turn it into firewhiskey, I need something stronger."

As he put his pieces away they argued with him calling him a sissy because he didnt finish the battle. He quickly shoved them into their pouch and put them away.

He didn't really know what to do now, AJ just sipped his butterbeer, wishing it was stronger.

Jenna Wright - June 12, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
"Ah gotcha. I'm not much of a firewhiskey drinker, I only drink it every now and then." Jen admitted, forcing her tiny little chess pieces into the bag as they argued incessantly. "These things are crazy aren't they? I really get the feeling that they don't like me. . . Perhaps that's because I don't let em out very much." She shrugged, tying the bag up and putting it off to the side, glad to have that over with.

"I suggest we go for a walk. I really don't care where. But I'm not much for sitting. Of course, it'd probably be best to finish our drinks first," Jen rambled.

AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 03:55 AM (GMT)
He agreed to the walk. He enjoyed talking walks, especially with girls. They were so much more interesting than boys. Boys only wanted to talk about silly things. He found girls liked to talk about everything.

"Where do you want to go for a walk?" he asked, after he gulped down his drink.

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 04:57 PM (GMT)
Jenna pretty much downed her butterbeer and consequently had to try very hard to surpress a burp. Normally she would've let it out, but seeing as she didn't know AJ so well, she was worried that he might find it somewhat gross. She pondered his question.

"You know what, I really don't know. Preferably somewhere outside, but that's just me. I'm up for anything really. Do you have anywhere you want to go?" Her words came out in a but of a rush as usual.

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 05:00 PM (GMT)
He really didn't have a preference he would go anywhere. AJ was so used to spending most of his times outdoors, he loved anywhere.

"I suppose we can just start walking and see where it leads?" he suggested, not knowing if she was a free spirit or needed a plan.

He stood up, seeing if she would follow, but perhaps she would stay put, demanding a plan.

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 05:10 PM (GMT)
Jenna grinned, "Sounds like a plan to me." She said as she got up to follow AJ out of the Great Hall. She was glad that he was not the type of person who needed to be going somewhere particular. Jen, for the most, really just liked to go with the flow and preferred to see where she ended up rather than planning everything out. She took that philosophy in her own life as well as destinations in walks.

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 05:16 PM (GMT)
The two new friends glided out of the Great Hall to go nowhere, they both seemed to have a similar outlook on life. Aj turned out of the Great Hall wanting to leave the castle. The day was perfect, it wasn't too cold, and it definatly wasn't too hot.

"Left or right?" he asked as they stepped over the threshold of the castle. It seemed like the best way to decide where their adventure would take them.

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 05:19 PM (GMT)
Jenna paused, debating AJ's question. "Hmmm.... "Left. Just cause I always chose right." She grinned, this could be rather interesting. You never knew where you could end up in Hogwarts, especially if you weren't going any where in particular. Hogwarts was easy to get lost in, she'd been here seven years and still got lost.

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 05:22 PM (GMT)
He listened to Jenna's command and turned left. They walked alongside the stoney castle for a bit, but before he could realize he had drifted farther away and was now clear in the open. Hogwarts grounds were exciting, but he hadn;t really explored much of the inside. Perhaps they should turn around and see what they could find in there.'Oh well' he thought, 'we'll probably end up in there later.'

"Should we go by the lake? Or away from it, to the otherside of the castle?"

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Jenna pondered AJ's question. It was a good one, and she wasn't really sure. "I really don't know. You decided. I decided last time," Jenna offered, hoping that he would answer this time around. Jen was a very indecisive person, she didn't really like to answer questions that meant picking thing over another, mainly because you never knew what you were missing out on the one you chose not to do.

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
He decided to turn around and go to the otherside of the castle, which was very close to the edge of a cliff. Student rarely ventured off onto this side, they didn't find it as exciting as the lake or the forest, or as cozy as Hogsmeade.

"I wonder if anyone ever comes over this way," he asked, knowing the answer. "Maybe we'll run into someone..."

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
Jenna followed AJ, looking around curiously she realized that she'd never been over this way before. She usually spent her time by the lake or on the grounds.

"I dunno.. . I've never been over this way before," Jenna admitted, still looking around as she followed AJ.

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
Either had AJ, this was a new adventure for him. He had looked out of windows before, but never had walked on the ground on this side.

"Exciting then," he added to her comment. It was growing windy, he assumed it was because of the cliff, but he didn't know much about how wind worked.

"Hope we don't fall off," he said when they got nearer to the cliff side.

Jenna Wright - June 13, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
Jenna peered over the edge, which turned out to be a bad idea. She gulped slightly, trying not to show her nervousness. She really wasn't one for heights, and the cliff was quite a drop.

"I sure hope we don't, cause that would definietely suck," Jenna said with a bit of a laugh. "I wonder how many students actually have been around here...."

AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 06:14 PM (GMT)
AJ decided to joke, "Maybe a lot, but they all fell off and were never heard from again." He tried to say it in a dead pan voice so she thought he was serious, but couldn't help but laugh.

"It would be wicked to flew over the cliff. Should've brought brooms." he said, snappjng his finger.

"Next time."

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 12:18 AM (GMT)
Jenna looked at AJ like he was crazy. Brooms? Flying? Hah, that's a laugh. Jen is a terrible flyer, she hates it. Add on the fact that she hates heights. Well that's just a bad combo.

"You can fly. I think I'm gonna have to pass you up on that one though. I hate flying," She admitted.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 12:28 AM (GMT)
AJ smiled at Jenna as they continued to walk along the edge of the cliff. Wind was blowing harder. Jenna's hair was in her face, AJ's cloak was flying all over the place.

The wind was making the air more chilly than it had been all day. We walked closer to the edge and looked down at the jagged rocks that had falled off of the side.

"Kinda scary eh?"

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 12:32 AM (GMT)
At this point the wind was really beginning to whip up. Jen's hair kept flying in her face, making it almost impossible to see, which really wasn't good seeing as she was along the edge of the cliff. Not only that, but the wind was bitter cold, making her shiver every now and then.

"I'm not much of a heights person, so I'm kinda freaking out right now." Jenna looked at AJ, the nervousness apparent in her face. But despite her anxiety, Jenna was rather enjoying herself. This was a part of Hogwarts she'd never seen and curiousity was getting the best of her.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
He didn't want her to be scared and offered to turn back. "We can leave?" he asked.

They kept walking when she said it was okay. AJ looked around, he noticed wild flowers growing on the side of the cliff as he looked down. The castle seemed more wild on this side too; ivy grew all over and seemed to grow where ever it wanted. As they walked forward he noticed something that almost looked like stairs leading down the side of the cliff.

He looked at Jenna with a menacing grin, "Hmm?" he suggested to go down.

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 12:44 AM (GMT)
Jenna shook her head, no. "No, no, I'm fine. I just gotta keep reminding myself not to look down." And with that the pair continued on. She thought it was quite nice of AJ to offer to turn back at her expense, but she was quite willing to keep moving. They'd gone this far, hadn't they?

Jenna followed AJ's gaze, she could just make out something that looked a bit like a stair case. She looked back at AJ. "I say we go for it. Let's just hope we don't get stuck down there." She grinned, that would make for an interesting story.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 12:52 AM (GMT)
The rocks had made a perfect staircase, though some of the 'stairs' were steeper, or sometimes nonexistent. Walking down was rather scary, if they stepped to the right at all they would fall down to their deaths. He and Jenna almost hugged the rigid wall to their left. Tree roots shot out every so often and made it difficult and scarier going further down.

"Further down than I expected," he said with his head tilted back looking at how far they have gone so far.

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Jenna followed AJ down, she may be afraid of heights, but this was one thing she could do. She'd been rock climbing before, so this wasn't as bad as she'd expected it to be. Of course, she was still a little nervous. The trees roots made it harder going down, but they might help on the way up, and the supposed stairs weren't exaclty evenly space. To add to that, if Jen moved too much to one side, well, she was a goner for sure.

"It didn't look that far from up there. The only thing I'm worrying about is making it back up," Jen stated, trying not to look down too much but just focus on her footing.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 01:04 AM (GMT)
OOC: what should we find down there?

AJ was walking carefully in front of Jenna, he knew if he was behind her and fell he would kill her. But if she fell he would be able to catch her. He stepped on a step anc it crumbled a little, "Whoa!" he exclaimed.

He was more careful than he had been before. One step was at a fourty five degree angle, and before he could realize it he stepped and started to slide. "Argh," he yelled as he slipped. Luckily he grabbed a tree root and pulled himself up. He was beginning to regret his decision to come down here now.

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
OOC: I have no idea....

Jenna almost screamed as AJ slipped forward, she lurched forward in an attempt to catch AJ. Before she could do anything however, he had grabbed onto a tree root. A little shaken up, Jenna asked, "Are you ok?"

She was more careful now and paid more attnetion to her feet than she had done before. They were almost at the end now, allowing Jenna to let out a quick sigh of relief. She looked back up, realizing that going up was going to be a hard journey

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 03:22 PM (GMT)
AJ had almost died again due to exploring. Maybe he really needed to rethink his outlook on life. AJ looked down, they were almost to the end of the staircase. He was growing excited to see what they were going to find.

"Almost there!"

OOC: sorry so short, need to start looking for clues in millions of posts...

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 03:49 PM (GMT)
OOC: don't worry about it

Jenna couldn't help but grin excitedly, she hoped that climbing this make shift stair case would be worth it. Even so, it was going to be interesting either way, she'd never been down here before, so she was bound to find something new. Even so, she couldn't believe that she'd actually done this.

"I was beginning to think that we'd never make it down!" Jen said with a bit of a laugh, although what she said was somewhat true. The journey down had been a lot longer and harder than she'd expected.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
AJ came to the landing, finally they had made it. He wasn't looking forward to climbing back up those stairs. Looking around he noticed they couldn't go right, there were tall jagged rocks that looked like students should go that way. Well students shouldnt even be down here to begin with. To the left it looked like there was a cave or a tavern they could enter.

"I'm game if you are." he said, but he was almost frightened now.

Jenna Wright - June 14, 2008 07:08 PM (GMT)
Jenna was quite relieved when they made it to the landing. Looking around she saw that their only option was to go into a cave type thing. She turned to AJ, wondering if he would actually want to go in there. Jen was somewhat nervous about the idea, but she didn't want to back out now.

"I'm game," she stated, even surprising herself. "We might as well, We've come this far." In truth, Jen really didn't fancy climbing back up the 'stairs' at the moment.

AJ Vitcav - June 14, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
The cave was dark, they could barely see infront of themselves. "Lumos," he said trying to get some light so he could see. AJ noticed it looked just like a normal cave would. No slime, no monsters nothing. But it went awfully far back. The further they walked the smaller the ceiling got. Soon, AJ had to duck, but he wasn't suprised, he usually had to lean over when exploring areas.

"Hello-o-o-o-," the cave echoed as he yelled to see if anyone was there.

Jenna Wright - June 15, 2008 03:22 AM (GMT)
Jenna followed AJ into the cave, somewhat anxiously. She whipped out her wand, whispering Lumos to help break the darkness of the seemingly endless cave. By all means, she was rather relieved that the cave was apparently uninhabited, but it might've been a bit more exciting had something else been in there as well.

She listened as AJ shouted a greeting, the echoes bouncing back somewhat eerily. "Seems like it's just us so far," Jen said, practically in a whisper.
