Conley had been begging AJ to teach him how to fly. Even though first years weren't supposed to learn out side of the class room, Conley wanted to learn quicker than the rest of his classmates.

It was early enough that nobody was out there to watch. AJ situated Conley to stand over his broom. AJ did the same.

"Put your hand over the broom and command 'up'. It may not work the first time." AJ did so, of course it worked for him, he had been flying for years now.

He watched Conley stuggle with the task.

"it's cursed I can't do it!" shouted the confused 1st year.he could not understand why it wouldn't come up. but finaly it came up to his hand. "well maybe its not cursed" said Conley. "now what" he asked AJ.

He wasn;t too suprised when the broom reacted to Conley. First years take flying lessons and AJ had heard Conley was doing quite well.

"You know how to get on right? Just mount it and we'll go up a bit."

Both Ravenclaws mounted their brooms. They only went up ten or so feet off of the ground before AJ shouted, "Alright, let's go as fast as possible to the end of the pitch."

He was going to let Conley win, but probably didn't need to. Being small the broom carried Conley quite easily. Compared to AJ who was huge and that is why he always played beater. Strength over speed.

When he finally caught up to Conley at the end of the pitch he said, "You're fast! Ready to go higher?"

"I'm as ready as ever!" shouted the exited 1st year. You see Conley always wanted to be a chaser on a quidditch team ever since he heard his father was captain of the ravenclaw team. he thought that was realy cool.

Sylence was bored and annoyed. She didn't feel like staying in the Slytherin dorm with the other Slytherin 6th years so she pulled on a pair of denim jeans, a green and black shirt, green chuck taylors and a Slytherin scarf. Without a second glance she hurried out of the school with her broom in hand. Once she reached the quidditch patch she glared as she noticed a all to fimilar Ravenclaw and another boy she did not know. She quickly hid hoping they didn't see her as she decided if she wanted to stay and fly or go to the library.

They climbed higher and higher. AJ knew Conley's father was on the Irish National team, but didn't expect him to fly this smoothly. He danced around AJ, who just flew at a slow and steady pace.

Aj was enjoying his time on the pitch as the air hit his face. They were rather high now and could see people at the lake.

"Having fun?" he yelled up to Conley.

"of course who wouldn't be having fun right now."he said nervousely. "When do you think I can try out for the quidditch team. I wanted to become a chaser ever since I was two years old." he asked eagerly.

"But first I should probably learn the basics first". he added

He knew that the professors would never let him try out. "Next year. Second years always make it. And by then you'll be so muich better. We'll win the house cup for sure."

They were zooming around laughing trying to knock each other off. Though they never got close enough, AJ didn't want to hurt Conley and even if Conley tried, he would never be able to budge AJ.

"Besides, this school year is almost finished. Next year will be fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuun." They last word was elongated because he went into a fast dive towards the ground.

"That was awesome," he yelled up at Conley.

He saw AJ fly down fast to the ground and followed suit. "Amazing." he had always loved flying. "Race you," he said already a few feet infront of AJ.

AJ was trying to catch up wih his little friend. Flying was more fun than he remembered. He usually only liked to fly while playing quidditch. He went into a corkscrew spin, showing off a little bit.

"Woohoo" he cheered. He was having so much fun!

Conley watched in amazment as AJ flew past him. "Wow!" he yelled to his large friend. Conley wanted nothing more than to be the chaser for the Ravenclaw team. Perhaps he would try out next year, when he was a second year. First years were not allowed to try out, but now he could.

The air rushing past him gave him such a jolf of energy. He loved to fly and play quidditch. They werent his favourite things to do. But he felt at home flying, the sky was so lovely. He looked back at Conley who was flying better than a lot of people he knew.

"You're doing good Con," he shouted back at his friend.

He liked it when AJ complimented him. He knew he didnt give them out easily. Conley followed AJ through the air. Though AJ wasn't the best flyer in the world, he seemed at home up in the air. Conley tried to do a dive down to the pitch. He was going down, faster, faster, faster. he almost ran straight into the ground. When he pulled back he tumbled off of his broom landing on the ground.

AJ was stunned to see Conley lose control. He hurried to the ground to see if he was okay. "You alright?" he asked as he landed. Conley was always getting injured. Being so tiny, his bones were very brittle.

"No broken bones," AJ told Conley as he check his arms and legs. He knew Conley wasnt hurt because he wasn't crying. The little Ravenclaw wasn't weak, but was often in extreme pain.

AJ lifted him off of the ground, "Okay?"

Valentina was walking around the Quidditch pitch, enjoying the cool weather.

Just as she looked up, she saw two figures. One of them was shooting straight towards her.

She didn't realise it untill the figure was at a 10m distance, then she threw herself out of the way.

she heard a thump ! and looked behind her, scared.

"Conley!" she gasped, scared that her small friend was hurt.

Just then, the second figure came over, it was Aj.
He said something to Conley, but she was panicking too much to hear what he was saying.

Both Valentina and AJ rushed to her side. Valentina stood by as AJ lifted him up. AJ didnt even notice the Slytherin girl. "Thanks AJ. And thanks Valy for coming." He said to both of them, "When did you even get here?"

"You sure you're okay?"\

When Conley mention Valentina was there he said hello. "Thanks for coming." he told her, surprised she came out of no where.

"Help me get him over to the stands?" he asked the girl. He didnt need the help but was being polite. AJ picked up Conley with one arm. "Could you get our brooms?"

Valentina smiled at Conley happily.

"Conley! you're not hurt! You just can't immagine how relieved I am!" She let out a sigh.

She lifted him up, scared that he would injure his spine if he stayed in that position.

She heard Aj speak to her. "hello, Aj!" she said brightly.

"sure!" Valentina hurried over and got the brooms.

AJ walked over to the stands carrying Conley and Valentina followed with the brooms. He looked up to Conley, "You feel lighter than usual." he joked lifting him above his head.

AJ felt like an older brother to Conley, he protected him, he helped him with school, but he also loved to hang out with the soon to be second year.

He laughed when AJ lifted him above his head. "Yeah, I'm fine. Did I lose weight? I suppose it's better to be light and be a chaser."

He knew it wasnt the best idea, because he didn't want to fall off of his broom everytime a bludger hit him. Everyone thought he'd be the best seeker in the world, but he wanted to be like his dad and be a Chaser.

"Well like I always say: you should try out for our seeker. But I know how important it is for you." he smiled. All of a sudden Valentina dissapeared back onto the pitch.

"So..." he said leaning back into the bleachers. "Any ladies trying to date the next greatest Chaser?"

AJ laughed. Conley still didn't like girls. Which AJ figured to be okay since he didnt discover girls until this year.

Valentina was walking for a certain distaince, not wanting to interrupt Conley and Aj's talk.
She felt as if she was somehow an intruder. She wasn't helping much...
Maybe she knew a spell that would cure Conly, and quickly.

"ah, my wand!" she gasped. it wasn't in the pocket where she always kept it.
maybe it fell when i dived out of the way... She thought wildely.

"Hold on, guys! Give me a sec!" She ran back down the pitch. There on the grass was her dark ebony wand. Just next to it, was a moving something.
it was a photo. There was a man smiling and waving at the camera, with a proud smile. He was wairing quidditch clothes.
maybe it's Conley's father... Valentina thought, picking it up and running over to the two boys.

Valentina returned with her wand in her hands and a pciture that probably fell out of Conley's pocket. He always carried around hi father's photo from when Ireland won the World Cup. "Hey look Con. You dropped your photo." AJ said to him taking the photo from Valentina and handing it over to his friend.

"Maybe that will be you someday." he smiled at him.
