Sylence had wan't to go flying but seeing Aj and another their had turned her off flying immedatly. She started towards the lake with her broom being dragged behind her. Once she reached the lake she dropped her broom and started to take her shoes off fully intending on sticking her toes into the water. She got both of her green chucks and one sock off before she noticed the tree. It was a huge oak tree and it seemed randomly planted near the lake. She stood up, forgetting about her shoes and her broom, and started over towards the tree. As she was nearing the tree she stepped into mud. She looked down at her foot covered in mud and laughed. She stated to herself out loud "I swear this school is out to get me. FIrst the lake, then the tree and now the mud."

April was walking along the grounds when she noticed a girl dragging a broom behind her. April thought this was a bit weird, so she ran over and caught up with the girl, who was now cursing herself for steeping into mud. April laughed and looked at her.

"Doesn't look like you're having too much luck, huh?" she asked.

Valentina was on one side of the lake, deep in thought.
She was laying on her front, with one hand in the lake's warm water.
now she was daydreaming...

... but was soon launched back to reality by a merry laught.
"hello!" she said surprised.
it was an older girl from her same House.
"so... are you doing anything special?" she asked, happy to see a new girl to make friends with (and this one seemed very friendly).

"Doesn't look like you're having too much luck, huh?" she asked.

"Nope" she stated as she pulled her foot out of the mud and turned to the girl.

Witout hesitation she put her hand out and stated with a smirk "I'm Sylence. 6th year Slytherin".

She had to know if this girl was a Slytherin or not. Sylence wasn't one of those Neo Deatheater types but old habits died hard. She had grown up in a strictly pure-blood Welsh town and old veiws and ways where hard to just drop suddenly. She added a smile at the end to make her comment not seem harsh.

"so... are you doing anything special?" came another voice. Sylence turned to see a girl that she had seen in the common room once or twice. WIth ease she gave the girl a warm smile and stated "Hey ... I wouldn't call mud soaked feet special ... but it's intereting."

April looked over the girl with interested eyes, looking at the broom, back to her face, and finally down to her mud covered foot. She laughed again but not too loudly, not wanting to upset the girl.

"I'm Sylence. 6th year Slytherin," she introduced herself. April nodded, knowing she had recognized the Slytherin look about the girl. April knew it was all about the attitude, and most people lacked it. However, when they did have it, everyone knew.

Sylence had the air of a Pureblood extremist. She could tell by the way she introduced herself, firmly stating her house along with her name, that this was the case. April was almost positive she would know the girl's parents, since she was from the same mold.

She was about to respond when Valentine came up. She gave the girl a cold once-over and ignored her for the moment, turning back to Sylence.

"Interesting name. April Teagan, also of Slytherin. 5th year. Are you new?" she asked, since she had never seen the girl around the common room before. She assumed either the girl was new, or she kept to herself, which would also explain why April, who was also new, may not have seen her.

Valentina looked startled around and saw April, one of her Slytherin friends.
She smiled at her exclamation.
Sylence Clandestine was looking very happy for just having stepped in fresh mud.
she laughted at her answer.

" i should try it sometime soon!" she said, obviously enjoying her company.
she thought for a second, before saying:
"erm... didn't you see that mud spot?".
Valentina had tried all week avvoiding that huge puddle, walking round it before sitting down by the Lake.

"Interesting name. April Teagan, also of Slytherin. 5th year. Are you new?"

"Not new... I keep to myself ... unless it involes random large puddles of mud" she replied while looking at the mud with contempt.

Before April had spoken Sylence knew she was a Slytherin. She had that ... Slytherin think about her. The firm stance, cocky attitude and the I-own-you stare. Sylence knew it well because it was the same as hers.

"erm... didn't you see that mud spot?"

"Nope. I would have saw it but I was still fuming over the fact that I couldn't go flying. Well I could go flying but i'm not going to share a quidditch patch with..." their was a break in her voice and a glare set on to her face as she spat the word "... him". Obviously she didn't like someone who was on the quidditch patch.

April looked over to the quidditch pitch to see who Sylence had the distate for. She couldn't see anyone flying, only little blobs in the air. It wasn't too helpful, and even as she strained her eyes, she couldn't tell.

"Pity, flying's the best. Whose over there that you don't like?" she asked, wondering who could scare off a Slytherin into such a rage that they walk into muddy puddles.

Valentina answered Aprils answer almost at once.

"that Andrej Whats-he-called with his friend, a first year, i know him..." Valentina said in a sad tone, obviosly regretting that she couldn't go flying as much as Sylence.

she let out a long and drammatic sigh.

"saw them coming. what a pity..."

April looked surprised. She knew Slytherins were typically the type to dislike many people, but she was shocked to find out that Sylence had a distaste for AJ. She adored the poor kid, and needed to know why Sylence didn't take a liking to him. That was weird, because many girls, including herself, had a thing for him more than friendship.

"AJ? Why don't you like AJ?" she asked, turning around to speak to Sylence directly.

Before Sylence could answer April's question the other girl answered if for her. As she said the name Sylence cringed. She loathed that boy and his name should have not been spoken.

"saw them coming. what a pity..."

"One. His name must never be spoken in my precence, he she'll be called that guy. Two. You knew we hate each other ... how? and Three. I didn't catch your name ore I blocked it out." She added a warm smile at the end to try and make the words seem less harsh then they actually where.

"AJ? Why don't you like AJ?"

Sylence thought for a moment and couldn't come up with one reason why she didn't like the guy. She just didn't.

"No clue. We just never got along ... every since first year" she shrugged her shoulders dismissively and glared at the flying blobs above the patch.

April shrugged, not wanting to push the topic with her. They obviously had a feud since young children that hadn't been made up yet, and April didn't want to get involved. She didn't tell Sylence of her relationship with AJ at all, since it was complicated anyways. She didn't want to get in the middle, or make the Slytherin angry.

She dodged the mud and sat against the tree on a dry spot of dirt. Looking up, she noticed that Sylence was looking longingly at the pitch, like she'd love to be flying right now. April wanted to fly too, but was too lazy to get her broom, and either way, it looked like AJ had the whole pitch covered.

"So wh ydidn't you kick him off the pitch then? It'd be interesting to see AJ take on a Slytherin, like yourself."

Valentina was about to nod her head to say she agreed, even thought she normally didn't show her Slytherin side so easily, when April spoke up in an angry voice.
"AJ? Why don't you like AJ?" April asked angrily.
Valentina didn't expect this from her, nor defending another House student.
She was about to say something very rude about her reaction, but managed to retrain herself. April was her friend, after all.

It was pretty amazing that Sylence didn't find a way to explain herself, and Valentina knew deep thawn that She knew why.

"he suspects me." She said flatly, and to their surprise.

She looked up at them.

"he suspects me, Andrej, i mean... i don't know why or what, but i just know he does..."

"I could of ... but then I wouldn't have stepped into this nice and met all you nice Slytherins" she stated with a smirk as she walked over to the tree.

It was obvious that their was something behind that statment that Sylence wouldn't say. A sadastic smile found it's way onto her face as she thought of kicking him and his little friend off the feild. She was sure she'd win any arguemnt or fight the two had. Slytherin confidences was something that she had plenty of.

"he suspects me, Andrej, i mean... i don't know why or what, but i just know he does..."

"Suspects you of what?" she asked as she turned towards her. A smirk found it's way onto her face, she'd love dirt on AJ.

April was surprised to hear Valentina talking of AJ. She had thought that Valentina got along with him, but perhaps not. Both of them had a very prominent quality for leadership, although AJ had the build of a natural leader, while Valentina did not so much. She smirked,but was still wondering.

"Yes, I must admit, I'm curious. What does AJ suspect you of, tha twe all don't know either?"

She exchanged a look with Sylence, and rolled her eyes. This would definately be interesting, that was for sure.

She didn't remember Valentina telling her anything about this AJ and they where best friends. She felt a bit hurt but wouldn't let it shoe because her Clandestine pride wouldn't allow it.

"Go on Val, don't be shy. Where waitng."

"Oh, god knows, Sylence. It could be anything," she said in Valentina's defense, and then turned away from then. She really didn't know what to say to Valentina at all. She had a feeling the girl was making it up.

"AJ is a nice guy I think, once you get to know him. Perhaps I'm a bit biased, however."

She shrugged off April's remark about realizing that AJ was a nice guy once she got to know him and smirked at the last bit of April's words. She turned to her letting her infamous Clandestine smirk slip on her face.

"Now why would you be biased" she batted her eyelashes playfully and continued "Dariling April".

April snickered, knowing that she liked Sylence's personality. She was the nice sort of Slytherin ,but deep down, really wasn't. She could tell that they would probably get along well, unless they ended up wanting to kill each other, But Slytherins rarely fought amongst themselves, so she doubted it.

"AJ and me... we're involved. I wouldn't say he's my boyfriend though," she said simply, not really knowing how to explain it.

She had a feeling that Sylence would be okay with it, since it didn't seem like she had much of a reason to hate AJ anyways. It was just an old childhood thing. Hopefully, it wouldn't make Sylence hate her or anything.

Sylence wasn't mad but she was curious. She and AJ had a deep rooted hate ... of sorts and she couldn't understand why any girl would like him.

"Why like him? Their's plenty of guys around ... who don't ... completely suck." she tried not to make her words harsh.

She briefly went through her memory to find any moment when AJ was or seemed nice. She couldn't find one.

"He sucks!!" she replied childishly as she crossed her arms and stared at the younger girl although she herself was acting younger.

April laughed, glad that Sylence wasn't angry. She didn't really like the way she talked about Aj, but whatever. There were some poeple that she was friends with that had stupid friends or boyfriends or girlfriends and she didn't complain. So, they'd clearly have to move on from the topic.

"He doesn't suck, he's cool." She stopped with that and changed the subject.

"So anyways, other than run away from boys at the quidditch pitch and step into mud ,what do you do for fun around here? Torment younger students?"

"Not torment younger students exactly... I chase hot guys... Play with Barymickbarkinghouser... Hex AJ... Protest yogurt and gello in school and hex AJ ... did I mention chase hot guys" she stated with a smirk.

She knew that eventually she'd have to leave AJ alone when April was around because that's what friends did. She was just messing with her and she gave her a playful smirk so that she realized it.

April laughed, not caring that she was poking fun at Aj. It was what friends did. She already felt the friend bond between them, so that was cool. She thought that the girl's activities were pretty good ones, though. Except protesting yogurt and jello... She'd have to ask.

"Seems like what I do... except hex AJ... and that stuff about gello and yogurt. What are you talking about?"

"Yogurt and Gello will be the end of the world as we know it. It's half solid ... half liquid ... it's in human. It's horrible," Sylence's randomness seeped through as she adapted a far off look "Food is meant to be either solid or liquid. Not inbetween. It's weird. It sucks. Whoever invited it sould die". As she finished her speech she stared at April as if what she had just said was the most logic and normal thing in the world.

April stared at her for a few moments with a completely serious face. Then she started laughing, and nudged Sylence in the sides. She couldn;t believe this girl. She was really out there, and that was bad considering she had met some pretty weird people.

"You're really strange, you know that. I like yogurt, but I agree, Jello is pretty gross."

Sylence laughed with April. She had to admit she was a little on the odd side. She felt strongly about gello and yogurt but she'll let April eat them.

"I'd like to think of myself as overly odd" with a smirk.

Her mind drifted to her brothers and sister, conversations like this reminded her of home.

"So when did you get all fluffy rainbows and butterflies over AJ"

She put aside her and his difference to talk to her friend.

Valentina listened quietly to the conversation between her two friends, and she laughted hard at Sylences point of view about the gello, but she couldn't help agreeing.

She listened carefully now... it never occured to her that April liked Aj in that way

April laughed.

"Fluffy and rainbows?" she asked incredulously. She giggled. "I suppose ever since I met him I've had a thing for him... I'm not sure where exactly it's going, but I'd like to think somewhere at least. He's a good guy to me."

She didn't know how to explain the situation with AJ, and she normally didn't even try to sort it out in her own mind. However, she knew someday, her and AJ would have to figure it out. It just seemed like they were always getting into too much trouble to worry about trivial matters such as who was dating whom.

Sylence smirked at April. She could tell that the relatinship was much more confusing and deeper then she could comprehend.

"You'll figure it out eventually. I'll admit AJ's a good guy. We just don't get along."

She shrugged her shoulders. She would never admit willingly that the only reason she and AJ didn't get along was because he didn't treat her like the high and mighty princess that all guys treated her like.

April nodded, agreeing.

"That's true," April said, agreeing with Sylence. "He is a good kid. I'm sure you two will get over your differences someday."

She wasn't sure what else to say.

"So, what about you? Any boyfreinds or guys you're interested in?"

Sylence scrunched up her nose and blushed a little. Her smirk slipped off her face and for the first time Sylence looked like any other student. No smirk, no glare, she just blushed.

"There's this one guy but he's younger and i'm not sure if her's even interested. I think he may be a little scared of me". She frown a little. One thing she couldn't get rid of is her Slythrin pride and it scared off her Ravencalw crush.

April turned to her, very interested.

"Well, who is it then? Who cares about age, really, it's only a number, Unless he's like a first year or something. Do I know him? What house is he in?"

April asked a lot of questions, but she was always naturally curious. She felt chipper now, not annoyed, and finally was glad to hear about Sylence's life and not talk about herself anymore.

Sylence scrunched her nose. She hated feeling like a normal student but felt as if she could trust April with seeing her this way. Her cheeks reddened nearly matching the color of her hair as she blew her bangs out her face neverously.

"His name is Robert. He's not a first year ... but he is a second year. He's much more mature for his age. He's perfect. He's egotistical and he's nearly as arrogant and cocky as me. He's charming and he literally knows how to sweep me off my feet. He's a Ravenclaw and did I mention he's HOT" as she spoke she adapted a far off look as she thought of him.

April giggled. She couldn't imagine how a second year could be hot, since they were 12, maybe 13. And Sylence, who was older than her, had be almost 17 by now, if not already. April would be turning 17 soon, and she couldn't imagine having a crush on a second year. It would be totally creepy!

"He's only in second year! How can he be hot and only in second year? They're like...12 or 13. Well, at least he has a good personality. What is it with us Slytherins falling for the Ravenclaws?" she asked, joking.

Valentina laughted at April comment.

She didn't even suspect that Sylence liked someone. Valentina envyed this talent that Sylence had... hiding things and not telling or showing anyone...

Sylence rolled her eyes at April and stated "He's 13 and i'm 16 which is only 3 years. You have to see him. He's hot," she told her friend with a smile.

She playfully glared at her when she spoke of the Slytherin and Ravenclaw difference then stated dramatically "What is the world coming to. He's 13. I'm 16. He's a Ravenclaw. I'm a Slytherin. It's coming to an end. Where all going die".

With that she closed her eyes dramatically as she pretended to die.

Valentina laught at Sylence. It seamed that she always said the right thing at the right time.

"Anyway, i don't see anything wrong with fancying a younger boy!" she stated, with a serious voice.

Secretly, she wished that they wouldn't ask her who she liked.

"There's a total different bewtween younger and being REALLY young!" April exclaimed. "It totally looks better if you date an older boy, but that sounde shallow of me. Whatever. It's not that big of a deal, I guess. Once you guys are older, it won't even matter."

April laughed at Sylence's dramatics.

"It totally is the end of the world. APOCOLYPSE!"

"It's true April. It is so much better when the guys older but, I can't help who i've fallen for" she told April with a smile. She couldn't help who Robert was.

"Valentina ... you seem all to knowing when you said that. Is there someone else you like" she turned again with a mischevious look in her eyes.

"Yes Valentina, tell us," she said, lookijg very serious and trying not to laugh. If she had a light, she would shine it in Valetnina's eyes, like Muggles who interrogate people.
