Title: Restricted Reading
Description: Zeke, Conley (and April?)
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
Zeke, Conley and AJ were on their way to the library. The plan was in motion. Conley would go to the librarian and start to almost cry because he couldn't find a book. When she left, Zeke would steal the keys to the Restricted Section. The plan was perfect.
"Okay you two go do your thing. I'll be waiting down in the back. I'm pretty noticable." he said noting his size. He left the two other Ravenclaws at the entrance and made his was to the back. Nothing should go wrong now.
Near the back he saw a glitch in the plan. There were students there, would they tell and get AJ detention?
Conley McDonnel - June 12, 2008 07:36 PM (GMT)
Conley seperated himself from the others, watching AJ go towards the back. He found the librarian near the front and started to pretend cry.
"Miss, miss," he said tugging the ladies cloak. "I can't find a book I need for my Charms essay. I'm going to faaail."
The librarian responded, "Oh, calm down dearie, what's the title." Conley said he didn't know. "Oh lord, let's go to the Charms section and see if you can remember." Conley winked back at Zeke, the plan had worked. All he had to do was keep pretending every title wasn't the right one.
Ezekiel Torch - June 12, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
Zeke surely mastered the art of not getting noticed. As he walked casually behind Conley, pretending to be searching for a book.
He watched Conley as he managed to get the librarian away from her desk. That kid sure did a good job being annoying, Zeke thought with a smile.
As soon as they were out of sight, Zeke made his move towards the desk. Placing a book on the desk with one hand he casually let the other slide the key into his pocket. Piece. Of. Cake.
Turning around and catching AJ's eyes he walked slowly towards him and the restricted section. The key to not getting noticed was not moving too quickly. He glanced around to see that most of the other students in the library seemed to be occupied with whatever they were reading.
"Here" he said silently as he handed AJ the key. "We gotta be quick"
He said, glancing in the direction in which Conley and the librarian had disappeared.
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 07:56 PM (GMT)
With one quick motion the keys were in AJ's hand and turning in the lock. Muggle-magic is what they all called it.
"They're near the back. Should be on the second shelf up." he said, crouching when he got to the right row. He noticed all of the books in an instance. He noticed they were in between normal Transfiguration books.
"Here take these," he handed a few books to Zeke. After he grabbed the rest, almost forgetting to grab the key.
They got out without being noticed, but now sneaking the books out of the entire library was a different story.
Ezekiel Torch - June 12, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
Zeke took the books that AJ handed him.
He frowned slightly at their weight and size. How they were going to get them out of the library without getting noticed was still something they needed to come up with a solution for.
Besides, he still had to return the key to the desk.
"I better put back the key first" he said, quietly, as he put the books on a table, motioning for AJ to watch them. He took the key from AJ and walked towards the desk when he heard the voice of the librarian, returning.
Panicking slightly, Zeke took a jump towards the desk where he replaced the key, then quickly returned to AJ.
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Using his cloak to hide some of the books. He was going to need to take them all of the way back to towers where the Ravenclaw dorms were. He and Zeke were struggling to carry the books back and he was beginning to wonder how Conley was going to get away. AJ bumped into many students on his way out of the library, almost dropping his books.
In the clear he opened one of the books up, "This looks so interesting, I can't wait to begin studying!" he almost shouted so that others could hear.
"Thanks Z," he said while reading some of the text.
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
April was heading into the library when she bumped into AJ and Zeke, who were both carrying large stacks of books and looking triumphant. She glanced at the titles, and presumed they had just stoled these books, which didn't look appropriate for the public shelves of the library.
"What are you two up to?" she asked curisouly, still looking at the books.
Ezekiel Torch - June 12, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
Zeke had a hard time balancing the books. As they ran into April he kept his eyes on the pile he was carrying. It was threathening to fall every minute. He was having a harder time than AJ carrying the books, due to AJ's size.
"Oh, nothing" he said as an answer to her question, but the wide grin on his face clearly gave him away.
"Just a bit of bedtime reading, that's all" he said as he winked at her.
"Now, why don't you make yourself useful, be a gentlelady and help me carry some of these" Zeke said, still smiling, as he loaded some of the books into April's arms, not bothering to wait for an answer.
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
April gave him a sarcastic look, and grabbed the books anyways. they headed down the hallway to where she knew thier dorms must be. Aj was lugging more books than both her and Zeke combined.
"So why don't you tell me exactly what you're doing?" she said, annoyed that she wasn't let in on the secret. "I promise I would tell," she teased.
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
He was shocked to see April. He was feeling much better from the last time he had seen her.
"Er...nothing. Just some light reading Z was helping me carry."
He didn't want the entire world to know what he was up to. How embarrassing would it be if he couldn't do it. What if it was too hard.
"What are you doing?" he asked, trying to change the subject.
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 10:31 PM (GMT)
April wanted to put her hands on her hips right now, she was so annoyed. And she never did that. But she continued to walk, and she ignored AJ's question almost entirely.
"What am I doing?" she asked obnoxiously, laughing. "I'm helping you carry these books. And they'e not light really, so I hardly consider it light reading."
She looked at the two of them. "You both look guilty and suspicious. And you definately took these books from the restricted section." She looked at both of them and then spoke again. "Just tell me what's going on."
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 10:37 PM (GMT)
He knew he had to tell April the truth. He trusted her so much already. When they reached a corridor with nobody in it he divulged his secret.
"The Miistry has approved my request to study to become an Animagus. I'm stealing these books from the Restricted Section," he said with a grin.
"Z here is helping me by covering for me when I go away for a long period of time to the Room of Requirement." He continued walking, catching up to Zeke who decided stopping was not an answer with these heavy books. "Oh and little Conley knows. The first year."
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
"Conley huh? Don't know him." Her eyes swept over from AJ and then back to Zeke. She smiled, however, knowing that this was really exciting. Especially the stealing part.
"Well, AJ, I'm happy for you. This must be a lot of work, however. I'm willing to help, though since I'm not in Ravenlcaw I'd be crappy at helping to cover for you. But I could help you find information."
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 11:00 PM (GMT)
He was glad she didn't think he was crazy for trying. "Well, you can help me study, and quiz me and, everything." He smiled excitedly. The hurried up so nobody would run into them with such thick books and start to ask questions.
"Maybe the Room of Requirement is open now. I can start to study."
He wasn't sure if he wanted them to come with him, it would be boring for them BUt again, they could hang out in a room that gives you whatever you want.
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
April laughed, remembering the last time she had been i nthe Room of Requirement with AJ. Nothing like studying had been happeniing then. What a different. She agreed, though, that he should get started right away.
"Yes, let's go check if it's open. You probably shouldn't bring those books back to yuor dorm, anyone could find them and people might ask questions..."
She started walking purposefully towards the room, hoping it was open so she could stop lugging these huge volumes.
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
He was happy that April wanted to join him. Zeke reluctantly came along, carryin his books as well. "I wonder if Conley will know where we are. Told him might try this room."
He had realized he left his friend at the library making the distraction.
"Carrying these books up four flights is sure going to be a pain," he said, not realizing he could probably transfigure them into pocketbooks until he got there.
Conley McDonnel - June 12, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)
"WHERE COULD THEY BE?" He shouted in his mined. not knowing they were in a different room. Conley wondered where they were. bad thoughts came to his mind. he wondered if they got caught, noticed,or told on.
Ezekiel Torch - June 12, 2008 11:32 PM (GMT)
"Yeah, I wondered about that too" Zeke replied to AJ's question about Conley. He wasn't able to talk too much, however, since the weight of the books were exhausting him quite a lot.
He was glad AJ had let April in on his secret, though.
April was one to be trusted and it might be nice to be able to talk about it with someone other than Conley and AJ himself.
April Teagan - June 12, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
"Hm, well, if he's in there, we'll know. It won't let us in, that way," she replied, but she seriously hoped the little boy wasn't, because the books were starting to get to her. She lead them all the way to the Room of Requirement before stopping outside of it.
"I guess we'll see," she said, huffing from lack of air as she lugged several dusty volume down at least 7 hallways and 4 staircases.
OOC:
Are we making a new thread in RoR?
AJ Vitcav - June 12, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
"Well he wouldnt be there yet," he told her, "He would know why were are going there and it would let him in. Right?"
He was growing excited to be the the room again. He remembered the last time he was in there and grinned at April.
"I wonder what animal I'll become."
April Teagan - June 13, 2008 12:42 AM (GMT)
April smiled, hoping AJ wouldn't be anything too scary. He was smiling back, and April was pretty sure she knew what was going through his mind. She blushed and opened the door that had appeared when AJ had thought of whtever he wanted.
She was the first one inside. She turned to Aj, to see what he thought of the room he had created.
AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 12:50 AM (GMT)
Inside was a room big enough for an elephant. Old books were piled on a large table with four comfy looking chairs. In the back was another table with wizard chess and other books and trinkets for the others to enjoy. He made his was over to the table, unloading his old, heavy books.
The room looked old, and had a giant mirror on one side.
"Nice," he commented, looking at the books the room had givin him. "These weren't even in the restricted section." The boks were loaded with information he was sure to need.
April Teagan - June 13, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
April looked over the titles of the books, and agreed. These would definately be helpful for AJ's study. She was hoping there would be some sort of book there to help point him to which animal he would become. She couldn't see him becoming anything too tiny, or mean. He was too big, and friendly!
"Looks like we got a nice place to hang out, too," she commented, looking over the chairs, mirror, chess set, and other little things. She saw some old wizard jokes laying around, and smiled.
"Could use some cleaning up though... sort of dusty. I'll look for a good cleaning spell, I suppose," she said thoutfully.
"How often should we meet here?"
AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
He thought about it. He wantd to come every night, but the others probably didn't want to.
"Well, I'll try and come as much as possible, but you guys can come whenever."
AJ looked over the room, this was a perfect place to hang out and study. He had heard of the room helping the students, but hadn't imagined it being this nice to them
"Perfect," he repeated.
April Teagan - June 13, 2008 01:19 AM (GMT)
"It really is perfect," April agreed. "I'll deifnately have to tidy it up just a bit though, make it more comfortable for you. Of course, food won't be a problem. Just think about it when you need it," she said, giggling.
"I'll try and come whenever I have spare time, which will be a lot, since classes are almost done."
AJ Vitcav - June 13, 2008 01:38 AM (GMT)
She was right, classes were almost finished, he wouldn't have the Room for much longer, unless he was in the tournament. He explained his dilema to them. "So if I go home for summer, I have to be really careful. If I stay here for the tourney and am in it, I'll be busy with that."
He thought about it and figured he could study and be in the tournament, and his parents would understand if he explained it to them.
