Title: A Darkness Well Hidden
Description: Anyone!

Fox Canning - June 15, 2008 12:09 AM (GMT)
Dusk had just fallen, casting an erie darkness upon the Forbidden Forest. It was just about dinner time, a desireable time for Fox Canning to slip away in the rush for food. He had headed out the just the edge of the forest wearing a dark long cloak over his school robes. He cast a backward glance over his shoulder before unfearfully slipped into the dark outskirts of the Forbidden Forest.

Fox kept his reputation quiet at school. Sure he was known for other things, such as being completely and audiably arrogant, flirtatious, and filthy rich. But he kept his dark side quiet. No need to attract un wanted attention just yet..

Behind a tree he slouched down, letting his legs sprall out infront of him. He had recieved another letter; this time from his long time mentor. However long Fox had trainer with Damien, Damien was not a friend. Fox unfolded the small parchment from which two words were scribbled.

Be prepared.

Fox leaned his head back against the tree, a darkness filled his normall bright azure eyes. He tossed the letter aside into a small muddy puddle.

A spider, of average size skuttled across his left hand as it rested on the ground. Fox hated spiders. He wasn't afraid of them, he just found them to be a nusance. And nusances were always dealt with.
He pulled out his wand from the inside chest pocket of his robes. Without looking at the spider, but still knowing where it was on the ground, Fox barely even uttered the word crucio before it sent the spider into a fit of spasms. The tall blond wasn't even sure if he had said the curse out loud. It was the only curse so far that he could pull of by just letting his mind take control, but it had been ages since he practiced it. He wouldn't be able to attack a wizard with wordless spells just yet, but his advanced encantations were growing stronger by the day. When provoked, Fox was not a force to be reckoned with.

Fox contiued to look off in the distance, preparing his mind for his first incounter with his mentor.

Lis was walking to the forest to get some alone time. The common room was packed and there was no better place she could think of than the Forest. No one went there. Lis had snuck out onto the groundswearing a dark cloak to stay hidden. She came across a boy sitting behind a tree. he startled her.

"OH! I didnt even see you there!" Lsi said. Then she became curious on why he was out there. "Why are you out here?" Lis said still hovering above him. He was very good looking, a nice build and features, and looked to be about the same age as Lis.

Fox Canning - June 15, 2008 02:40 AM (GMT)
Fox wasn't started when the girl appeared by his side, but still whipped his head quickly to see who had come so willingly alone into the Forbidden Forest. Wasn't anyone afraid of anything anymore?

Fox suddenly remembered to spider that he had been torturing for the past few minutes. It had flipped over onto its back, still twitching in obvious agony caused by Fox's inaudiable Cruciatus curse. Fox imediately ceased his spell, whispering finite, and returning his azure gaze back upon the girl.

His eyes had regained their normal miscievious sparkle. "Who are you to ask me questions, when you could be asking yourself the same question?" He paused. "This place is dangerous, you know? Never know what kind of characters you might run into out here."

Fox stood up. He was a very tall figure, standing about 6'3" or more. He ran a hand through his spikey blond hair, scratching his head a bit. "Lucky for you, I'm not one of those characters..."

"If you must know what Im doing out here, I was trying to do some studying in the common room but it got too loud. I figured Id look for a new place to study." Lis gave the guy a coy smile. "Theres nothing to be afraid of out here as long as I have my wand." Lis said. Lis watched The guy stand up. He was tall and very good looking. She heard him say he wasnt that kind of character. "how do I know that? Just because you told me." Lis said being a bit flirtatious.

Fox Canning - June 16, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
"Well, I guess you won't ever know for sure unless I finally do prove myself wrong to you and you can say I am a threat." Fox shrugged. He noticed the spider crawling up the tree next to him, trying desperately to escape into the tall branches. Fox greatly wanted to end the critters life with the wave of hsi wand, but refrained from doing so infront of the younger student.

"So you're pretty confident with yourself with that thing, huh?" He smiled mischievously. Maybe he could teach this one a thing or two out in the confinement of the Forbidden Forest, if she were up for it.

Lisette Rasmuse - June 16, 2008 01:37 AM (GMT)
Lis, without even looking at the spider raised her wand, exclaimed "Stupefy!" and brought her wand down to her side all in a split second. "Why yes I do feel very confident. With or without the wand." Lis said giving Fox a coy smile. She saw the look on his face and could tell he was up to something.

OOC: sorry so short :P

Fox Canning - June 16, 2008 01:52 AM (GMT)
Fox smiled. "Very confident, indeed...against an unarmed, unmagical creature." When Fox had been toying witht the spider it had been for s***s and giggles, not for show and tell. "How good are you against someone who can defend themselves?"

He paused, throwing back at her the same coy grin she had flashed him, clearly stating I'm not out to hurt you, I just want to see if you can really back up your bark. He took a few steps backward away from the small dark haired girl, with drawing his wand.

"Firstly, What is your name?"

Lisette Rasmuse - June 16, 2008 02:02 AM (GMT)
Lis felt a bit embarassed. She didnt realize that she was showing off with a piddly spider. Oh well. She thought. Lis stood back from him and said, "My name is Lisette Rasmuse, but you can call me Lis." Lis saw him pull his wand out so she did the same. "And yours?" She said coyly.

Fox Canning - June 16, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
"Fox Canning." He said cooly before bowing slightly, starting the duel. Fox quickly lifted his wand and whipped a spell at Lis without hesitation of who was to start first. In a real duel no one let the other pick who went first. Her stated stupefy firmly as a flash of light escaped his wand.

Fox knew she'd be expecting that spell and could probably easily deflect it. If she couldn't, he didn't knwo why he was even wasting his time. He aimed the spell slightly left of her center so that if she stood still it would hit her but if she decided to move, would more likely than not, cause her to dodge to her right.

Even quicker than his first spell was released, her sent another from the tip of his wand towards her right. "Incarcerous!' He shouted, sending out thick ropes to bind Lis, if not for only a few seconds if she was smart enough to find a way out and recover.

Lisette Rasmuse - June 16, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
Lis knew what was coming next. She saw the flash of light coming towards her and she quickly yelled out. "Expelliarmus!" The spell was deflected and then Lis saw rpes flying at her. She tried to roll out of the way but they caught up with her. She thre a few hexed at them to make them disappear quicker. After she got the ropes off her, she yelled "Stupefy!" Three times in quick successon.

Fox Canning - June 17, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
Fox didn't even dodge the three quick stuuning spells that Lis threw his way. Being grades above Lis was already one advantage, but the second with his training with Damien, a brilliant dark wizard. Fox didn't fear spells, and knew he could best any spell that the girl flung his direction as long as he stayed concentrated on her.

He lifted his wand slightly each time the spells tried to hit his center. His mind took control. Without a word Fox concentrated and produced a shield that deflected all the stunning spells with ease as if it was childs play. But again, Fox wasn't out to hurt her, or let her know just how powerful he was because of his training...That was his secret.

He took a step toward her and said, "Serpensortia!" A large, long black snake burst from Fox's wand and slithered through the dirt toward Lis. Another adversary for her to contend with. Fox advanced with the snake and shouted silencio, trying to stop her from continuing with any of her verbal spells.

Lisette Rasmuse - June 18, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
Lis didnt realize that Fox was going to be so good at this. Lis thought she was pretty decent herself, with her speed and ability to produce basic spells quickly. But Fox had gone too far out of Lis's reach on this one. The snake didnt frighten her much, she had an idea that Fox wasnt going to hurt her, atleast nto on school property, but the spell so she couldnt speak, that made it a bit tougher,

Lis was stepping backwards quicky and trying her hardest to maek a sound. Nothing came. She waved her hands to maek him stop. She was doen. He had won, but she was okwith it. She kind of figured it was stupid for her to duel him, he was a couple grades older than she was. After she got ut in her predicament, she felt embarassed and sensed that he would probably make fun of her.
