She sat alone on the dock of the lake. It was a cool night and she wasn't about to waste it sitting inside all night. Carly yearned for some adventure. Then again, when didn't she? She stared up at the moon. She was preparing herself to go exploring around a bit. It was dark, but the moon was light enough to see around, but not too much to ruin the suspense of it all. She wanted to do it, but was hesitant. She was hoping that someone would come along.
Someone that was just as interested in the dark grounds as she was.

She let herself fall back so she was lying down. She stared up at the stars and smiled. Adventrue. She thought. I wonder if many other people did this as often as me. She pondered it for a minute and half laughed. She took a deep breath. As she did, she heard footsteps. This made her gasp and immediately sit up and look behind her. She could only see a shawdow coming her way.

Sylence was skipping about the grounds dragging a pickett sign. Today's protest against yogurt had went well. The houseeleves had actaully listened to her before sending her off. She dropped her sign off as the common room then went to take a walk on the grounds. She hadn't stopped to change so she was clad pressed and perfect in her Slytherin uniform. Not to mention her red hair was neatly pulled into a ponytail held together by a green ribbon.

As she walked she noticed somone by the dock of the lake. Curious she walked closer to see who was out tonight. Suddenly the person gasped and sat up. Sylence jumped and screached not expecting the person to stand up so face. Finally her eyes adjusted to a student and she glared a little annoyed and slightly scared.

As she heard the screach, she figured she didn't have much to be worried about. But she still didn't know who it was. All she could see was bright colored hair. She slowly stood up fully and started toward the figure. "Uhm, who.." Her words traveled off.

As she stopped talking and got a little closer to the shadow, she saw it was a girl. A Slytherin girl. Atleast that's something good. She probably wouldn't be too happy if it were someone from Gryffindor or something. She knew the girl. Well, sort of. She's seen her around a lot. She looked different, though. More..put together.
"You are..?" she said as she stopped walking.

"Sylence. Sylence Clandestine. Slytherin. 6th year. You?" Sylence couldn't help but treat the girl this way. She had scared Sylence and Sylence hated admiting defeat, being ignored or being seen as weak.

Realizing that she sounded mean and harsh she cleaed her throat and stated friendlyier "Let's try this again. Hi, i'm Sylence. Local Yogurt Protester and you are?" she let a friendly smirk reach her face as she stuck her hand out for the girl to shake.

She listened as the girl introduced herself. She sounded mean. What an attitude. She thought as the girl finished. She couldn't exactly blame her, though. Carly was the same way. It was only natural. Carly made a face at the girl, implying that the attitude was not so great.

The girl must've got the message because she cleared her throat and tried again. Much better,
Carly smirked with the girl as she announced her yogurt protest.
"Nice to meet someone different for a change." Carly took the girls hand, shaking it. "Carly Butank. Slytherin. 5th year."

"I thought i'd seen you before," she told Carly as she thought back to the times she had seen her in the common room. Sylence knew when two Slytherins got together they had to work extra hard to keep their egos, attitudes and arrogance to themselves. It got hard but Sylence had had some practice with her Ravencalw sort of boyfriend.

She opened her eyes to speak when she heard foot steps near a tree. She looked and noticed no one so she turned back to Carly about to comment but their was more footsteps. They where coming closer but when Sylence looked about she could see no one. She looked back towards Carly questioningly to see if she had heard it as well.

"Same to you." Carly wasn't sure, but she thinks Sylence had the same thoughts as her. They didn't really know each other, and had yet to determine if they actually wanted to. [I]Damn Slytherins. They can never learn when to keep thier attitudes to themselves. We all have problems.[I]

It looked as though Sylence was about to speak again, but watched her quickly turn around, looking almost scared. She stared at her, then to the spot where she was staring. When Sylence turned back, Carly was about to say something, but was interrupted by the sound of footsteps. She figured that was what caught Sylences attention in the first place. They both looked, but saw nothing. They looked at each other.

"So, i'm not crazy..?"

"We could be," Sylence stated trying to act like she wasn't nervous about the footsteps. It didn't work but she still tried as she continued "They say to much school work can make make you go pre-maturely insane". The footsteps started again. She nervously stared at the tree where the footsteps had stopped.

"I vote for you to go see what's making that noise" Sylence knew that wasn't fair but she didn't want to go see what was invisible near the tree. Most of the times when you told a Slythern they couldn't do something they would. She tried that as she continued "Unless your scared or something". With that she let her infamous Clandestine smirk spread across her face.

Lis had been outside sitting under a tree practicing her charms. It was her worst class. All of the sudden she heard voices. She stood u;p and listened to the conversation. Lis could hear something about 'whats over there?' and so on. She decided to make herself present. She came from behind teh tree and saw the girls. One was a girl she had seen in the hallways but didnt know very well and the other was...Sylence. "Oh great." Lis thought. But she decided to talk to them anyways. She approached the two and said, "Hi. I hope I didnt scare you." She said, then looked at the girl she didnt know. "Im Lisette, but you can call me Lis." She extended her hand out to shake. Then she looked at Sylence. "Hi Sylence." That was all she could muster up to say. "What are you guys doing out here so late?" Lis asked.

Carly laughed at Sylence's comment. That is true, though. Maybe they were just really tired. She was nervous, and it was noticable in her laugh. She thought about it. This is nothing new. I put myself in these postions all the time. Why do i still get nervous? She loved it, though. The adrenaline was great. This is just what she wanted. Sylence interrupted her thoughts with her idea of Carly going to check it out.

She looked at Sylence. Kind of like she was crazy, but she was tempted. She stammered a bit, about to propose they both go..when Sylence challenged her. She hated that. No matter what the situation, saying she couldn't do it would make her do it in a matter of seconds. Carly sort of glared at Sylence as she smirked.

In the midst of this, the footsteps must have quietly approached them beacuse they heard a girl speak. This made them both jump a little and face the girl. It wasn't someone Carly knew, but she was guessing Sylence did by the evil look on her face. As much as Carly wanted the footsteps to be something worse, she was relieved she didn't have to own up to Sylences challenge.

The girl introduced herself and stuck out her hand. Carly looked at Sylence and then the girl, and then the girls hand. She slowly shook Lis's hand. "Carly." She manged to say.

"Hello Lisette" Sylence stated slightly annoyed. She couldn't help it. Lisette made her annoyed no matter what she was doing. She knew for the sake of her new friend she shouldn't start an arguement.

"The footsteps revealed" she stated to Carly with a nervous laugh happy that everything was okay. Just as she started to relax again their was a loud crash, a girls scream and then pure silence.

Sylence looked from Lisette to Carly then towards the noise. She didn't speak because she was to afraid to.

Carly pulled out her wand and sort of stormed away, muttering something under her breath that she's sure Sylence didn't hear. As she got closer and closer to the tree, she slowed down. She raised her wand. "Hel-" She started, but immediately stopped when she heard a loud bustle behind the tree, she jumped back. She took a few steps to the side, trying to see behind the tree. Her eyes widended. "Oh my-" she started, but couldn't finish.

Carly's reaction waa all she needed. Sylence started to back up slowly away from both Carly and the tree. As she was backing up she went to grab for a wand but then she remembered it was on her bed. She had left it next to her pickett sign in the girls dorm. She glared at herself for being a coward as she slowly walked closer to Carly. She didn't peak behind the tree but stopped a few feet behind Carly.

"What is it?" she muttered while keeping her distance.

She couldn't stop staring and she couldn't raise her wand. She wasn't thinking straight and didn't know what to do. Finally, Carly heard someone behind her. It made her jump and finally come to her senses.. She turned to see Sylence. She stared at her for a moment, then turned back to the tree, ignoring her question. It was gone. "What..?"

Carly had no idea what it was. A cloaked figure. It was holding it's wand up, which was illumanted with green. Finally answering Sylences question, "I don't know. But..it's gone." She looked around for it. She saw the shadow running. "This probably isn't smart, but i'm not about to let that just get away." She looked at Sylence.

"Come on." She started after the figure, wand tightly in hand.

Before Carly even took off after the cloaked figure Sylence knew she would. She had every right to let her go off alone. Sylence was wandless and she didn't know who was behind the tree. A cloaked figure could have been anyone. Yet as soon as Carly took off after the stranger Sylence was right behind her. Her adreline kicked in as she and Carly chased after the mysterious person. She didn't talk or think for fear of her realizing what they where doing. Suddenly the cloaked figure ducked into a cluster of trees. It wasn't the forbbiden forrest but it looked just as forbbiden.

Before Carly ran into the woods Sylence stopped her and turned her around "I don't have a wand," she told her with a frown "Light yours, you'll have to go first". Her Slytherin pride wouldn't let her back away from a challenge.

Carly was glad to see that Sylence hadn't let her run alone. She was almost certain that she would. She didn't think anyone else was stupid enough to follow a cloaked figure. Most kids would let it go
and forget about it. She was glad she wasn't alone in this.

She was trying her hardest to keep up with the figure. It then ran into the woods. Oh, why? She thought. She didn't mind it out here, atleast they had the moon. In the woods, it was nothing. Carly forgot she had her wand with her and was about ready to run into the woods anyway. Sylenced stopped her and reminded her about her wand.

Carly nodded. I'm glad i never leave this behind. She pointed her wand forward. "Lumos!" She said, as a beam of light shot from her wand. Carly looked at Sylence.

The light from her wand was pathic but it was enough. We both started slowly into the woods. Nothing good could come of this but nothing good would come of us not finding out who the person was.

A spell was yelled then their was a loud crash as a tree branch dropped nearly decaptating Carly. Sylence grabbed her before it hit her pulling her back. They both tumbled to the ground staring at the branch.

Sylence was mildly aware of the small scrapes and bruises she had just recieved that where somewhat bleeding. She ignored the sting of her ankle and the ripe in her stockings.

"You okay?" she asked Carly as she started to stand.

The spell rang through Carly's ears. What is was, she wasn't exactly sure. All she knew is that a branch was falling and it was about to take her out. Before anything could happen, Sylence pulled her out of the way and they fell.

How thankful she was that Sylence was there. She could've moved out of the way herself, but probably would've been hit before it could all process in her head. She layed there for a few seconds, suddenly feeling the small pain in her arm. She was bleeding, but she didn't care. All she could think about was finding that figure.

Carly stood up as well. "I'm fine." She brushed herself off and saw the figure, not running, but quickly moving away again. She didn't say this much, but she figured it appropriate. "Uhm..thanks." She looked back at Sylence.

Sylence was glaring towards the figure. She was now royally p****d. Who was this stranger and what was there promblem.

"Shall we continue" she said as she turned towards Carly. Whoever they where they had to pay. Her pride wouldn't let this go and she knew that Carly's pride wouldn't let this go.

Without any hesitation the girls continued after the figure slowly. She could see the cloaked figure ducking behind trees. Disappearing the reappearing. Whoever they where they had to pay.

Carly could see how mad Sylence was getting. She knew, because she felt the same. What kind of person does this? Even most Slytherins don't go around trying to kill people with tree branches. Carly wouldn't let something like this happen, and she felt Sylence wouldn't either.

Carly continued to follow the figure with the light from her wand. It kept ducking. This was really making them angry.

"Look, it can't even stop and face two girls and one wand." Carly looked at Sylence, smirking. She was trying to provoke the cloaked figure. It was working. When Carly said that, the figure stopped. It half turned around and snarled.

Carly's plan worked it turned towards the girls and snarled. Sylence stood fearlessly next to Carly regardless of the fact that she was wandless.

"Really now big bad cloaked person. Show yourself." Sylence knew the person wouldn't but it was worth a try. In response to her question the figure sceamed yet another spell.

It came flying Sylence way and she wasn't sure if she could move in time. She closed her eyes and prepared herself for the curse.

Carly smirked as Sylence continued to provoke the cloaked figure. She knew this would work. Maybe it wouldn't show itself, but atleast it stopped. The figure suddenly threw another spell. This time, it was actually coming their way. Sylences way.

Carly knew nothing to do besides push Sylence to the ground, as the spell barely missed her. Without hesitation, Carly pointed her wand to the cloaked figure. "Expelliarmus!" She yelled. It knocked the wand from the figures hand. She watched where it flew to, knowing the figure would automatically follow after it. She then turned to Sylence, sticking out a hand to help her up.

"You okay?"

Sylence grabbed her hand and pulled herself up. Before she could say anything to Carly she dived for the wand. She hit a few tree branches but didn't mind. She needed the wand. It was a sucess she grabbed the wand and rolled out of the cloaked figure way. He launched himself at Sylence and the two started to wrestle.

"Carly help."

She saw Sylence dive back to the ground after the wand. No. Why would she do that? She grabbed the wand and rolled, missing the figure by only seconds. But to no surprise, the cloaked figure attakced Sylence and they were wrestling for the wand. She heard Sylence call for help.

She pointed her wand at them. This wasn't easy. They were both wrestling, and if she cast a spell..there was a chance it could accidentally hit Sylence.

"Sylence!" She pointed her wand at the both of them, hoping Sylence would look at her and try to move out of the way.

As soon as she heard her name she looked towards her friend. At the moment she looked the figure brung his fist down on her face, grabbed the wand and yelled a spell at Carly. She hoped Carly would move from the spell as she felt herself slipping in and out of reality.

Sylence don't leave Carly she told herself as she faught the darkness. She won as she opened her eyes and quickly stood up fighting the nausea.

Sylence looked at her. Thank god. As soon as she did though, the figure punched her. Carly's face dropped, then glared. She was hoping Sylence could hold onto the wand, but the cloaked figure grabbed it.

"Finite Incantatum!" Carly yelled at the figure right as it cast a spell at her. This stopped the figures spell.

OOC: So, we could make this really interesting if you want. The figure can win for a little bit. Maybe someone knock us both out and then bring us somewhere. But we end up getting away anyway?

Sylence thought she was okay but she wasn't. She went crashing to the ground unable to keep her balance. She hoped that Carly would be okay. She couldn't take it anymore. She let the black consumed her and hoped beyond hopes she'd wake up again.

OOC: Let him take us away B)

Right as Carly stopped the spell, she saw Sylence fall to the ground. "Sylence!" She wanted to run to her side, but she knew she couldn't look from the figure. She kept her wand pointed at it, it's wand still pointed at her. "What..do you want?" She managed to get out.

This was way more than she wanted. What was this? She loved taking risks and putting her life on the line, but this time..she was afraid she was really done for. She heard a horrible laugh come from the the figure. It was a guy, that she could figure out.

He turned away, looking around for a second. Carly took this opportunity to check on Sylence. She knelt by her. "Sylence." She shook her. She was out.

"Mobiliarbus." Carly heard the cloaked figure yell. She immediately pointed her wand at him, but before she knew it..a log flew at her, hitting her in the head. She fell next to Sylence, knocked unconcious.

Once Sylence came two she sat up terrifyed. She looked around but she didn't know where she was. She knew that they where deeper in the woods ... and that she was tied to a tree. Their was a fire and a tent set up but the cloaked firgure was no where in sight.

She turned to the tree next to her to see Carly tied to a tree still out. Tears wanted to slip out her eyes but she couldn't and wouldn't let them. She called to Carly gently so that the person ... where ever he was wouldn't know she was awake.

"Carly. Are you there? Please don't be dead. Please don't be dead" her pleas became hystrical as tears started to spill out her eyes "If there is some sort of god where ever you are. Help us. Carly. Carly. Don't die. Oh god we are going to die. Okay god i'll never protest another half solid half liquid product again. Just god. Carly. Carly".

The tears wouldn't stop.

Carly slowly began to come back. She heard the faint sound of someone calling her name. She heard crying. She had no idea what was going on. She couldn't remember. She then recognized Sylences voice. Carly moved her head a little.

"Uhh.." She said quietly. Her eyes opened and she looked around. It all suddenly came back when she saw Sylence. She was crying.

"Sylence..why are you crying?" It's kind of crazy..she's only known the girl for one night and she already feels as close as best friends.

Carly looked down and noticed she was tied to a tree. She wiggled a little. "What the-!"

Once Sylence heard Carly's voice she muttered to herself "Okay god thanks. No more protesting".

She turned to Carly and stated "I thought you where dead ... and we're stuck to trees".

The tears had stopped and now only an annoyed frown was on her face as she pulled at the strings. She wanted out. Just then the cloaked figure walked towards the fire with wood.

"Okay Mister Creepy Guy. I don't want to play anymore" she told him serious. He howled with laughter as he disappeared into the woods.

OOC: I gots to go but I PMed Mel asking her not to send this post to the archive so we can continue tomorrow ... or when the sites get re-opened because it's supposed to closed for a while.

Carly heard Sylence mutter something about protesting. This made her laugh a little. She looked at Sylence as she said they we tied to trees. "Well thank you, captain obvious!" She tried pulling on the ropes. Carly realized she gave Sylence attitude. She didn't mean to, it was just natural. "I'm sorry.." She didn't look at her.

She guessed Sylence ignored it because she just continued pulling on the ropes without saying anything. She made a comment to the cloaked figure. As she heard the laughter, she cringed.

"We'll get out of here.."

"We'll get out of here.."

Sylence turned to Carly as she spoke. She had the optimism that Sylence was lacking. They where tied to a tree with a stranger in a cloak prancing about. She sighed to herself clearing her thoughts and thinking of a way out of this.

"Do you still have your wand?" she asked Carly as she stared to rub the cords that bound her against the tree. They grew weaker but this method was long and Sylence wrist where turning bright red.

Carly was silent for a moment, not even trying to get out as Sylence was working frantically at it.

"Wand.." She looked down at her pockets. Nothing. She looked on the ground next to her. Nothing.

She continued to look around the ground. "I don-" She spotted it. It was a mere two feet away from her. "He must really think this is funny." She stared at it.

Sylence was fully consumed with trying to get her hands free. As if by miracle the cords where nearly gone. Just as she was getting down to the last pull she heard Carly.

"He must really think this is funny."

Sylence turned to see Carly staring at her wand which was nearly 2 feet away from. Sylence rolled her eyes and stated "Can you reach it?"

She looked at her. "Sylence..i am tied to a tree. Do you really think i can reach it?" It kept getting to her. Her attitude. She could usually control it in normal situations, but this was extreme and she couldn't help the way she acted. She just hoped Sylence wouldn't take it to heart. Carly took a deep breath.

"Besides.." She looked at the ropes binding Sylence. "you're almost out. No need for my wand right now."

Sylence rolled her eyes and glared at Carly. It was a stupid time to let her Slytherin pride get to her but she did. She stated icily "Your right Carly. I'm almost out. Not you. Me."

With that she took one last tug at the rope and she was loose. She quickly untied her other arm while still glaring at Carly. She had no intention of letting her out of her bounds.

She quickly grabbed Carly's wand and looked around for their capture. He was no where in sighit so Sylence turned to Carly with a smirk. She knew she shouldn't but her pride nearly seeped through her skin.

"It seems your still tied up Carly. It also seems as if that's a personal promblem."

WIth that she walked behind a tree and out of sight of Carly. She didn't know if she intended on going back but she knew she would find something to get her ... and Carly out of this mess.

She offended Sylence. This was the last thing she wanted. Sylence was throwing the same attitude right back at Carly. As Sylence made her comment and walked behind a tree, Carly began to tug on the ropes.

"I didn't think even YOU'D stoop this low Sylence!" She was struggling with the ropes, trying to work her way out. "And i swear, if anything happens to my wand-!"

Right then, Carly heard a loud crash.

Sylence could hear Carly yelling but she was ignoring her. She would go back to help her just not at this moment. She knew she had to get closer to the cloaked figure to do anything.

That's when she saw him with more fire wood. She quickly muttered a spell making his leg feel like gello and watching him collaspe to the floor with a loud crash. She knew it wouldn't keep him for long.

She darted back to carly stating another spell and watching the bounds fall free. She stated quicly "I've had a change of heart. And now it's ... RUN!" she screached as she heard footsteps approaching them. Without looking back Sylence took off in the general direction she thought the school should be.

Never mind her lack of navigational skills.

When Sylence unbound her and shouted run, Carly had no time to thank you. Sylence started running. It didn't seem right. Carly was almost sure the school was the other way. But she couldn't leave Sylence to run by herself, and there was no time to stand there and stop her.

She ran after Sylence. "I don't think-!" She stopped to jump over a log. "You're going the right way!" She shouted to Sylence. Then turning around, saw that the cloaked figure was right on them. He surprising didn't have his wand out.
