Carly walked through the rows of books. She had to study for Herbology, but she was dreading it. She was naturally pretty good in school, but Herbology is the one thing she could never grasp. She knew where to find the books but she was trying to distract herself, staying far away from that section. As much as she needed to study, she was looking for anything to get her away from it.

She finally came to the restricted section. She glanced around. Hm, here's one way to keep me from studying. She smiled. But before she could walk in, she heard footsteps behind her.

AJ was used to sneaking around in the Resticted Section. He needed to get a book that was referenced in another one of his Restricted books. It wasn't needed, but he thought to get it just in case. He noticed a girl whom he had never met walking infront of him, then he realized she was going to the Restricted Section as well.

"Erm, hi. I'm AJ." he said when she turned around to see who had been following her.

As Carly turned around, the boy introduced himself. She looked at him for a moment. "Carly." She was a little confused at first. She didn't think anyone else was around. She then looked around again and back at him.

"Looks like you're somewhere you're not supposed to be." She smirked. She knew she wasn't either, but what other conversation did she have to make?

"Yeah. I make it a habit." he smiled. "I was just needing a book for some studying." He knew it was summer, but he was doing other studying at the moment.

"Erm, what were you doing anyways?"

"Also searching for a book. Wishing i didn't have to waste my summer nights studying, but when you're as bad as i am in Herbology, you need it." She laughed a little.

She began walking again, looking through shelves and pulling out random books that looked interesting.

"Can't help you there...sorry. Got top marks in Herbology, that's just because I studied hard. That's what we Ravenclaws do."

He went out of the restricted section and sat down at a table right by it's entrance. He was interested in what sort of slacker student would actually want to study over summer. Even if she was forced to by bad grades.

He waited for her to retreive her book while he read the chapter mentioned in his other book.

Ravenclaw? She laughed to herself as he walked away. Figures.

She grabbed a book and walked to his table. "You know..Slytherins study as well." She sat her book down at the table and sat across from him. "Don't think you Ravenclaws can take all the credit for that one."

He knew Slytherins were studieous with a bad reputation "I know.." he mumbled, "Didn't mean it in that way." He continued reading, not even lifting up his head. He had grown accustom to reading and talking to others.

"What year are you in anyways?" he asked the girl who had sat down at the table.

He talked to her without looking up from his book. This offended her a little. It was probably nothing personal, but her typical Slytherin ego always got the best of her.

"5th, well..going into 6th." She leaned back and opened her book. She proped her feet onto the chair next to her and looked at the first page, with a sort of confused look. She shook her head and looked back at him. "And you?

"Ah I remember year five. I'm in sixth. Or just finished. Summer is always awkward. Dunno what year I should say I'm in." He finally looked up from his book.

"How did your OWLs go? Or how do you think you did?"

She waited for him to lift his head while he spoke. He finished his sentenced and looked up. Finally. She wished she didn't have the attitude she did. This boy did nothing to her, yet she would get an attitude about things. She was thankful she didn't say it out loud.

"Pretty good i expect." She looked at her book and flipped through the pages. "Except Herbology, of course." She rolled her eyes. "I understand everything but that. That's why i'm here."

"Oh yeah...OWLs were fun. The NEWT levels are hard. Not looking forward to those tests next year."

He looked back down and read his book. He didnt really know what to say.

AJ waited for her to talk. He had gotten better in social situations, but what still a bit awkward.

"Hm, i'm sure you'll be alright. You're a Ravenclaw and you're studying in the summer. There's got to be some intellegence in there."

She watched as he began reading. He looked kind of awkward. She laughed a little and set her book on the table, taking her feet off the other chair and leaning forward against the table. "You seem like the shy type." She smirked.

She loved when people were shy. She was very outspoken and social. She was always talking to someone anywhere she went. Meeting new people was one of her favorite hobbies. Making shy people outgoing was another.

"Me shy? I used to be extremely. I've opened up a bit."

He smiled closing his book. Obviously she wasn't going to allow him to read.

"So. What do you like to do for fun? Besides fail Herbology."

"Well it looks like someones gonna have to open you up a bit more." She smiled as he finally closed his book. Much better.

She laughed a little at his comment. "I wouldn't say failing Herbology is very high on my fun list." She thought for a bit. "Quidditch. That's probably number one. I've been playing my whole life. Getting into trouble, of course." She smirked. "And finding danger. Sounds dumb. Well, it is..but it's risky and i'll do anything that's risky." She pondered whether or not she should find something risky do to tonight.

"And what does a boy like you do for fun? I pray you don't say read."

"Well I wont say it then. I play Beater for Ravenclaw. Muggle sports. Sleep in trees, the usual." he smiled at her.

"I enjoy a lot of different things."

He leaned back in his chair waiting to think of what to say. He was drawing a blank. He was tired from studying all of the time. Plus the tournament.

"So that's where i've seen you then. A beater." She smirked. "I play the same position. Not on my house team, though. Sadly, i found i've had barely any time for it. This year, i'm trying out though." She tapped her fingers on the table.

She noticed he looked tired and a little stressed. She stood up and smiled. "Would you like to sit in here all night and waste your time?"

"No no. I'm enjoying the company. Relaxing actually."

She didnt seem like she was a beater. Maybe a chaser."sit sit." he said, not demanding, but almost asking.

"It's nice to meet new people every now and then."

"Believe me, i love meeting new people as much as the next." She looked around, "But sitting in a library is a kind of depressing way to do it." She looked at him and smiled.

She didn't mind sitting in the library by herself, but when she was with someone, it's the last place she wanted to be.

"So.." She picked up her book. "Either you can sit here and be boring by yourself," She smirked. "or you can come find something better to do with me." She began walking away.

He stood up, wanted to have some company tonight. "Where to?" he asked leaving the library.

He seemed to get into a lot of adventures by meeting people in random places

She was glad he followed her. She didn't want to be stuck alone tonight.

"Hm, you tell me." She smiled. "I'm interested in seeing what you Ravenclaws like to do."

She started playing with a ring on her finger. It was a bad habit. She looked up at him. "But you better make it good." She smirked.

He didnt know if she could handle his adventures. Ravenclaws may be bookworms, but he was one advernturous fellow. He just lead the way, not knowing where he was going to take her.

"How good are you with Hexes?" he asked, debating on taking her someplace dangerous or fun.

She followed him as he kept walking.

"Are you joking? I put myself in bad positions everyday." She smiled. "I live for the risk of not knowing exactly what's going to happen to me."

She stared forward and thought about it, sort of daydreaming for a moment. "So you can pretty much say Hexes is an area of expertise for me."

AJ didnt want to go to the Forest just yet. He had been there too often and wanted someplace new. "Do you have any ideas? But not the Forest. That's too boring now." he knew this last statement would raise suspicion, but he didn't care. Recently he had been getting the itch to go extremely high. Higher than the towers.

Carly was a bit shocked at this. "Now what could you possibly be doing there so much that it got boring?" She looked at him, very curious. "I've been in there my share of times and i still find something new everytime."

Although she was curious about his statement, she didn't really want to go there either. Everytime she was with someone else and they were searching for something to do, they usually ended up there. She wanted something new.

AJ knew she'd argue that the Forest wasn't boring. "We'll I've probably explored further than anyone. I've made friends with the beasts. But if you want to go in there, lets."

He stomped off in the direction of the Forest, waiting for her to follow.

"Well aren't you just mr. great?" She said sarcastically. Oh man. Why do i do that? I need to learn to stop being such a Slytherin.

She noticed him walking in the direction of the Forest. She stopped walking. "Okay, enough. You won. The forest is a little boring." She said that with much hesitation. She hated to admit when other people were right.

"So then..." he said, wondering where she wanted to go. The sky was bright so they could go anywhere and be semisafe. AJ opened his book he brought from the library and started reading it waiting for her answer.

He was beginnning to wish he could be studying in the Room of Requirement now. But was stuck out here with Carly and couldnt think of a good excuse.

"Well we could always fly around a bit until we find something. Who knows, there may be something we've never done or seen that we could only find by flying." She wasn't exactly sure what she was talking about. She could be right, though. She figures she was just looking for an excuse to get on her broom, since she hasn't in a few weeks.

She stared at him for a moment as he read. She closed his book on him, took it and threw it. "Must you?" She smiled.

He ran to get his book. "Yeah I must."

She was an annoying Slytherin. First she demands him to come, but is upset that he is bored. "Yeah, flying is nice. Let me go get my broom from my common room then?"

He started to walk back to the towers.

As he ran to get his book, she noticed he didn't look happy. When he talked, he sounded a bit annoyed. He began to walk back. She stood and watched him walk away for a few seconds.

"You know what, forget it." She was aggitated. "You seemed like you might be an alright guy, and for a Ravenclaw, but you obviously are nothing too exciting and really not worth wasting my time trying to figure out what to do." Her usual Slytherin self came out. She couldn't always control it, and this time she didn't care.

"Oi. No, we're having fun. Let's go get our brooms and meet down by the lake. We'll fly over that. See if anything exciting happens."

AJ left her and went up to his common room in the towers. He hid his book and grabbed his broom. It was a nice day so I helf his cloak up on his bed. In his shirt, tie and dress pants he went down to the lake, waiting for her to return.

He loved adventure, and all of a sudden all of his tiredness went away and his blood was pumping faster than it had in a long while.

Carly was now slightly annoyed. She wasn't sure whether or not to meet him, but she had nothing better to do. She walked to her common room, grabbed her broom and started making her way back.

So if he wanted fun, she was gonna make sure this was exciting. Still a little annoyed, she saw AJ by the lake. She approached him. "Let's make this good."

He watched as she walked down to the lake. He was leaning on his broom when she arrived. "Okay, do you want to lead the way?" he replied to her. He wanted this to be fun. He had recently grown to love flying. Even though he played beater for his house team, he just liked sports, not flying. But now he felt at home in the air.

He mounted his broom waiting for her to take the lead.

"If you think you can keep up with me.." With that, she mounted her broom. She's been flying her whole life. It's what she did everyday as a child.

Carly took off, speeding away and wondering what they were going to do.

AJ watched as she soared into the sky. Withing moments he had caught up with her. His speed even surprised himself. He glided along side of her, just enjoying the air in his face. He took a small dive, but joined her elevation again. He was on her right, then on her left. He was dancing in the sky.

"Don't you just love flying?"

Carlys desire to fly then faded out after she thought he was getting annoyed. She watched as he flew around her, enjoying himself. This got her back into the mood again.

"Love it?" She smiled. "Try obsessed." She then flew over him and dove down, straight for the water. She stopped herself nearly two feet before hitting and continued flying just above the water.

AJ followed suit, he got as close to the water. He dragged his hand in the water. Splashing Carly a bit. He shot straight up in the air. Spiraling he went high enough to see over Hogwarts. What a beautiful sight. He once got 50 points deducted for flying to high. They say muggles might have seen him.

He looked down at Carly who was still enjoying being low to the water. He stayed at the high elevation for a while before zooming down to the water. He had caught up with Carly and was just smiling at how magnificant this was.

Carly watched as he flew higher. She considered following him, but enjoyed flying close to the water. He eventually came back down next to her. Forgetting she was ever annoyed with him, she smiled. She hadn't done this in a while, and she was loving every second of it.

She abruptly stopped as AJ continued to speed forward. She laughed and turned around, speeding off the other way. Flying up, down and sideways. She then flew as high as he was before. It was beautiful. She was hoping she would see something exciting.

AJ noticed she had left, but had decided to speed off away from Hogwarts. He had been further than this before, but still enjoyed being away. He loved Hogwarts, but felt like a prisoner at times. He wanted to be free to soar wherever he wanted. He looped around spotting Carly doing some acrobatic spins and flips. She enjoyed flying as much as he did.
