Title: A New Year and New Appearance
Description: Open

Rebecca Emery - June 21, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
Rebecca walked along the Hogwarts grounds a small smile on her face as she waved to a friend or two by the lake. The looks she got from them made her sigh momentarily and made her smile look a lot more nervous than friendly. She knew why her friends were shocked by her appearance. Hell she had been too. Over the summer Rebecca had grown up in more ways then one. Of course she was still the same girl when it came to personality, but when it came to looks well a lot had changed.

Rebecca now looked a lot more like a woman, older than she was, so to say. She'd grown three inches taller, her body was now proportioned right, and she had curves! She looked so much more feminine (not that she never did) and older than she had last year and personally even though she'd been waiting for this change for awhile now she was left feeling very awkward in her new body. Even so she liked how she looked, not that she never had.

Sighing quietly at her thoughts Rebecca moved along ignoring the stares of passers by as she continued to walk. It was the first day back and she had yet to actually talk to any one of her really good friends. That's why she'd made her way to the grounds. Since classes hadn’t officially started yet and it was still summer she assumed most people would be outside. Though whether or not her assumptions were correct was yet to be revealed.

Thinking these thoughts left Rebecca's blue eyes suddenly wondering the area for any familiar face. Though if truth be told she was hoping to see one person in particular. Someone she had grown fond over the last year. Though knowing the persons personality towards other's she assumed the person she was thinking about wouldn't be present. Nevertheless she kept searching, hoping someone, anyone really, would join her.

Emily Fall - June 21, 2008 11:15 PM (GMT)
Emily walked around the grounds. She was bored and had nothing to do. There were lots of people talking in groups. 1st years playing silly little games. Emily smiled she was happy to be back at Hogwarts. It wasn't the start of the school year but it wasn't still the holidays.

Emily walked, her new long brown hair swayed side to side. Emily was very different from last year. During the holidays she had taken out her nose ring. Dyed her hair brown and grew it a little longer. Emily grew taller (not that she wasn't tall already) and her body shape changed for the better.

Emily kept walking. Not many people were back yet and she had done nothing that fun. Emily saw someone walking her way. She thought she knew who it was. But the person looked very different. Emily shouted "REBECCA IS THAT YOU?"

Rebecca Emery - June 21, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
Rebecca had been in her own thoughts that she hadn't even heard the shouting at first, but when she realized the person was talking to her Rebecca looked up, her blue eyes instantly landing on Emily. Wait Emily? Smiling to herself Rebecca took in the girl's appearance. It seemed like she wasn't the only one to change over the summer. That made Rebecca feel not so alone and let her know she’d be more comfortable in Emily's presence than in anyone else's right then.

Knowing this Rebecca made her way over only stopping when she was in front of Emily. Spinning around she let out a nervous laugh, but this time her smile was friendly as she spoke. "Yes it is me. Surprising isn't it?" Asking this Rebecca waited to see Emily's reaction now that she was up close. While she waited though she commented on Emily's own appearance.

"I almost didn't recognize you for a moment. I see you decided to dye your hair brown though this year." Grinning at her words Rebecca was brought back to last year when she had officially met Emily in the dorm rooms. One of the first topics of conversation had been about the girl's hair color.

Emily Fall - June 21, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
"Yup, I like it much better than the blue. You look so.... different" Emily said. "I mean in a good way you look different" Emily smiled. Emily was happy at the fact she wouldn't be the only one to have a new look this year. "Yes I dyed my hair. Toke me a long time to pick the colour. I didn't get a the tattoo by the way. My parents wouldn't let me" Emily told Rebecca.

Emily was happier than she usaly was. Her vision were now on a happier note. So she didn't have to dream of people being killed by death eaters anymore. "So how were you holidays? Did you do anything exciting?" Emily asked Rebecca.

Rebecca Emery - June 21, 2008 11:52 PM (GMT)
Listening to Emily's words made Rebecca smile, more than she had that day. It was good to hear what Emily had to say and she couldn't help but nod in agreement about liking the brown color more than the blue color that had resided in the girl’s hair last year. She personally never gave much thought about hair dying, but if it came down to it Rebecca would have to say she didn't care for all the blues, purple, greens, and such colors people used. She preferred natural colors like brown, blonde, black, and so on. Even so Rebecca knew everyone was subjected to their own opinions.

Shaking her head at her thoughts Rebecca listened on to Emily seeing the typical happy go lucky Hufflepuff in front of her. It had been a while since she'd been with anyone like herself, all summer to be exact, and she thought it was great. Very refreshing.

"Thanks Emily I appreciate the compliment. I've been getting so many stares and such it makes me feel even more awkward then I already do." Smiling at her words Rebecca could only laugh at the tattoo part of her words. "What would you have gotten?" Asking this she let her words die off waiting for the girl to answer. When she didn't though and went ahead to ask about summer holidays Rebecca answered instead.

"Anything exciting, no. I stayed a week or two here for the tournament and then I went home where I pretty much did nothing. I mean I did go visit relatives which was nice, but other than that nothing. Boring I know." Laughing at her words once she trailed off Rebecca asked, "How about yours?"

Emily Fall - June 22, 2008 12:05 AM (GMT)
Emily was still smiling. "I have no idea what I would have got if I did get the tattoo. Well my parents for once did some good parenting whn they said no to the tattoo." Emily laughed.

Emily looked around the grounds. Everyone was around doing something. She coud see her sister talking with the other 1st year Hufflepuff girls. Probably talking about who was the cutest 1st boy and what they thought about each others hair. Emily's sister was a realy girly girl when it came to things. Emily's sister even had her own pink broomstick.

"I stayed half the holidays here but then had to go home because of something that happpened. I found out that someone that goes here lives next door to me. Her names Sylence. My cousin Roxane came to stay with us for a little while. She is the new DADA teacher. My holidays were kinda boring also" Emily told Rebecca.

The two were now walking around the grounds looking at thing. Emily heard her sister say "Yeah thats her" as she pointed at Emily. "Thats my little sister. The one pointing at us I mean" Emily said to Rebecca.l

Rebecca Emery - June 22, 2008 12:25 AM (GMT)
Hearing Emily talk about her parents actually doing something right for once made Rebecca laughed along with the girl. She'd never really had that kind of problem as her own parents had always been there. Watching her every step, making sure she did the right thing, helped discipline her if necessary, loved her, and etc. Nevertheless she understood what Emily meant.

As they went into a sudden silence Rebecca let her blue eyes stray to where Emily was looking. She instantly noticed the group of a bunch of young giggling girls. She wondered why they held interest for Emily. After all they probably were just a bunch of first years. Nevertheless Rebecca kept her thoughts to herself as they continued walking and Emily finally spoke. Hearing the name Sylence made Rebecca frown. Her and the Slytherin had never gotten along. They were your typical rivals. Rebecca didn't care for the girl because of how mean she was and in turn Sylence didn’t like her because of her so called perfect life.

Rolling her eyes at her thoughts Rebecca let her thoughts slide away from the Slytherin girl and back to Emily who was now whispering something to her. Turning in the direction of the girl who was pointing at them she noticed Emily's sister belonged to the group of giggling girl's Emily had been looking at moments ago. Laughing suddenly at her earlier thoughts she felt stupid. No wonder why she was looking over there, Rebecca thought to herself.

"Well it seems you had a fairly good holiday. That's great," Rebecca stated before she went on glancing once more at the girl's sister. "So do you two get along?"

Emily Fall - June 22, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
Emily laughed at the question. "No we don't get along. She is a spoiled brat that everything she wants. I used to be like her beleave it or not" Emily said to Rebecca. "Just a second I have to do something. KATE WET HER BED ON HER 11TH BIRTHDAY!" Emily shouted. "Sorry about that. I had to take care of some business."

Emily and Kate had the normal fights. They fighted about Kate using Emily's makeup. About Kate getting a pony for christmas when Emily got a dress. They both hated each other and it wasn't going to change any time soon.

Rebecca and Emily were now a bit far away from Kate and her friends. "So do you have any siblings? Or are you a only child. Sorry if I have asked you before" Emily asked Rebecca.

Rebecca Emery - June 22, 2008 12:50 AM (GMT)
Listening to Emily go off and answer the question with a no then go on and "take care of something" as she put it Rebecca could only laugh. Sibling rivalry was a very funny thing sometimes, at least to outsiders like herself. Some of the petty things siblings did to get back at each other could be some of the most hilarious things ever. Like now for example as Emily screamed out that her sister, Kate, had wet her bed on her eleventh birthday.

"You know she will probably get you back for the one Emily, " Rebecca announced after her laughter died down. A grin was plastered on to Rebecca's lips as she watched Kate's reaction. She didn't get to see it though as a group of students walked by and ruined her view. Turning away from Kate and her new found friends Rebecca shook her head amused as she listened to Emily's questions.

"Oh don't worry Emily. I don't think you have asked." Pausing for a moment Rebecca thought back to their first conversations and shook her head. She couldn't recall the question. "Anyways I'm an only child. Not as exciting as have siblings...but oh well." Trialing off Rebecca flashed Emily a smile.

"So what house is she in? Hufflepuff?"

Emily Fall - June 22, 2008 04:26 AM (GMT)
"Yeah she is a Hufflepuff. She wanted to be Slytherin but she is Hufflepuff" Emily said to Rebecca. "My older brother John was in Slytherin with the rest of the family."

"She will probably get me back but with what I just did makes me happy" Emily said. "You will never know the joy of being mean to a sibling. I feel sorry for you" Emily said to Rebecca in a joking manner. Emily looked back at her sister. She wasn't so red anymore, she must of done something mean to her or one of her friends.

Emily ran her hands throw her long brown hair. She wasn't used to it yet but she would be soon. "So we are now 5th years. Do we get any magical privileges. Or are we still the same just older" Emily asked still with her big smile on her face. Emily really wanted to do a cartwheel.

Rebecca Emery - June 22, 2008 06:56 AM (GMT)
Listening to Emily answer her question Rebecca ran a hand through her brown hair which was flowing across her shoulders in natural waves. When the girl spoke about her whole family being in Slytherin except her and her sister made Rebecca wonder. Of course she’d heard of the odd balls, so to say, in families but she wondered why Kate didn’t get into Slytherin. If Kate had really wanted to be in Slytherin wouldn’t the sorting hat of taken that in to consideration? Who knows, she thought to herself with a shake of the head. From experience she knew the sorting hat had its ways.

Tuning out her thoughts about sorting Rebecca listened to what Emily said next and just laughed. She probably was missing out, but even so she could handle it. “Don’t worry about me Emily. I think I’ll leave all the sibling rivalry to you and others. I’m quite okay with being an only child. At least most of the time.” Trailing off Rebecca felt her lips pull up into a smile. Her words were true. Most of the time she thought it best to be an only child, but of course as any only child she thought about having siblings sometimes.

"So we are now 5th years. Do we get any magical privileges. Or are we still the same just older."

Hearing these words come from Emily made Rebecca laugh once more as she took in the big grin on Emily’s face. “Magical privileges? I think not. I mean now the teachers are going to work us harder than ever cause of O.W.L.s but I don’t count that as a privilege just a pain. So were the same just older.” Shrugging as she finished speaking Rebecca continued walking as she let her blue eyed gaze stray from Emily and across the grounds. It’s good to be back, she thought to herself with a smile.

Emily Fall - June 22, 2008 07:21 AM (GMT)
"Oh joy" Emily said. She was not looking forwards to O.W.L.S. "Well I guess O.W.L.S won't be to bad." Emily couldn't hold it in, she did a cartwheel. Emily couldn't help it, she was happy. In the holidays she found a way to stop her visions form being so bad and for once her parents were... nice to her.

"Hey you want to sit down? We can have a break an catch up more/ Maybe I can turn some wood into chocolate again" Emily said.

((OOC: sorry for the shortness))

Rebecca Emery - June 22, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
As Rebecca listened to Emily’s ‘oh joy’ and saying the O.W.L.s wouldn’t be that bad she just shrugged. She hoped they wouldn’t be that bad, but with what all the older students had said and complained about she knew they might be tough. After all they were important, shouldn’t they be tough? Sighing slightly at her thoughts Rebecca knew she’d just have to study hard. Do that and I should do just fine, she thought to herself reassuringly as she listened to Emily suddenly speak.

Laughing at the girl’s words Rebecca nodded as she glanced around them, searching the grounds. “That sounds good to me. How about over near that tree?” Asking this Rebecca pointed in the direction of a lone tree which stood away from the lake and away from most of the students. To her it was perfect. She could relax and be comfortable. Knowing this she glanced to Emily to see the girl’s reaction.

OOC: No worries. Mine is kind of short also, lol.

Emily Fall - June 23, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
Emily and Rebecca sat down. At this school most people sat under tress Emily noticed. But Emily liked sitting under trees. Emily picked up a twig that broke off from the tree and turned it into some chocolate. "Want some?" Emily said offering Rebecca some chocolate.

"So what classes have you picked this year?" Emily asked.

((OOC: YAY MORE SHORT COMMENTS LOL)

Rebecca Emery - June 23, 2008 10:48 PM (GMT)
As Rebecca made her way over to the tree she pointed out with Emily walking along beside her she thought about the year ahead. She hoped it would be as fun and interesting as the year before, but hoping could only do so much. Rebecca knew if she wanted the year to be great it was up to her and what she did. For example if she wanted to have a boring and uneventful year going to the library and studying all the time would be the way to do it. Though if she wanted excitement and adventure she would have to sneak out of the common room or take a trip into the lake. Either way she wanted to spend her year it would have to be up to her.

Coming out of her thoughts Rebecca sat down with Emily as the girl suddenly conjured chocolate and offered her a piece. Automatically reaching out and taking the candy she smiled. “Of course I do. I love chocolate. Thank you.” Trailing off Rebecca took a bite of the chocolate and smiled as she swallowed the piece and took another bite. As she did this she listened to Emily’s question. Only answering once she was done with her chocolate.

“You know the usual and plus I’ve picked up Care of Magical Creatures and I was thinking of taking up Muggle Studies. How about yourself?”
