Title: Meeting a Friend
Description: Fawne

Jeraud Cynster - June 22, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
As Jer made his way through the Hogwarts grounds and too Hogsmeade, where he was supposed to meet Fawne he could only help but wonder why the young girl didn’t let him how she’d signed up and was competing in the tournament this summer. After all he was happy for the girl, excited for her even. It would be an interesting tournament from what he heard and part of Jer couldn’t help but worry about Fawne, his new found friend. Even though she was younger than him he still considered the Gryffindor a friend, even a younger sister in some ways. So naturally he was worried and excited for her.

Sighing quietly at his thoughts Jer moved along finally making his way passed the gates of Hogwarts and into Hogsmeade where it was crowded like usual. Of course this shouldn’t have been the case because it was summer, but since the tournament was being held most Hogwarts students found the need to stay and watch, which all were welcome to. Thinking these thoughts Jer moved through the crowds his hazel eyes searching for Fawne. Part of him thought it would have been easy, very easy infact, to find the girl because of her well oddity, but he was soon finding his assumptions wrong.

Frowning slightly at his thoughts Jer ran a hand through his dark brown almost black hair as he suddenly stopped next to a store, Honydukes to be exact. Deciding to stand here and look around his hazel eyed gaze continued searching the crowd. After a few minutes Jer’s eyes narrowed in concentration as he took in the appearance of a young lady not to far from him. The girl’s back was turned, but she looked tall enough to be Fawne. They even had the same hair color and natural waves. Smiling at these new revelation Jer began to make his way over knowing it had to be her.

“Fawne! Hey Fawne, over here!” Calling these words out Jer made his way over moving through the crowds toward who he assumed was Fawne.

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 22, 2008 11:46 PM (GMT)
When she figured out she had a day to spare, no tournament, no work, no anything, she'd decided to make plans with her Medi-Wizard friend, Jer. After all she hadn't spoken to him for a while and she was missing his company already; mainly becuase she'd befriended him easily, feeling like she known him for years despite the age gap and the fact she hadn't.

In the end they agreed to meet up at hogsmeade, Fawne really wanted to escape the castle walls for a while. And so that morning she gotten up, just as early as usual, and gotten ready before rushing the hall to scarf a slice of toast for breakfast. Heading off to hogsmeade shortly after before the crowds. In fact she'd been that early to hogsmeade she resorted to wandering around as the town slowly filled up with students, ending stood near honeydukes in the crowd.

She didn't fit in with the student crowd that had filled the town, her behaviour and clothing making her look above the normal student age. She moved fluidly through the crowd around the store, hardly touching another person and dressed only in a knee length gray ruffled skirt, blue blouse and blue ballet shoes, no coat in sight. Her hair swung freely in its lose curls a pinned in gray ribbon bow on the left side of her head. Her mind was else where as a gentleman walked past her. It was then she heard the same man shout her name and she realised it was Jer. With a light giggle she also realised he was heading towards another girl about her height and hair style only a few feet away.

With a few quick steps she was at his side and tapping his arm lightly in response to his shouting. Her smile bright and her eyes mischievous, the troll and tiredness of the tournament lessened for a day of fun. Her voice was as melodic as ever but slightly louder to beat the noise of the crowd.

"Hello Jeraud. Its a wonderful day, no?"

OOC: Sorry couldn't resist. lol

Jeraud Cynster - June 23, 2008 07:35 PM (GMT)
Jer was still making his way over to the girl he thought was Fawne when he felt a light tap on his shoulder. Instantly stopping in his tracks and turning sharply to the person who had tapped him Jer opened his mouth to speak though it quickly closed as he noticed a smiling and mischievous Fawne looking at him as she spoke. Almost immediately Jer blushed, not common for him, as he took in the teasing tone conjoined with her words and glanced to the girl he’d been heading over to. He was only a little ways away now and he felt himself blush even more as he suddenly realized what kind of mistake he had been bout to make. Turning back to Fawne now he smiled sheepishly before answering her question.

“Hello my dear Fawne. A wonderful day it is indeed. Just perfect for making a fool out of oneself don’t you think?” Saying this Jer let his hazel eyes move to Fawne’s face as he started to take a little of the humor in the situation. He flashed her a small smile, the redness growing distant from his cheeks as he took Fawne’s arm linking hers with his and saying, “I think it’s best we move before we get trampled.” Without letting her reply or waiting for one he led her over to the side of the main road and to Honeydukes where he had been present just moments ago. When he finally thought it safe enough, so to say, he stopped near the window of the store and unlinked arms with Fawne before turning towards her an amused yet embarrassed grin on his face.

“So I assume you heard me over there shouting your name to someone who obviously wasn’t you, correct? If so I thank you for saving me from a humiliating scene.” Nodding his head in her direction his grin softened to a smile. A thankful and grateful smile at that.

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 23, 2008 09:27 PM (GMT)
She noticed him turn sharply but she wasn't bothered by his possible sharp reaction, her eyes still shone wish mischief and her tone still light and flippant. It wasn't often Fawne was mischievous but sometimes she just couldn't resist. It was however a more human change to see the cloudy look gone form her eyes. She noticed the blush on his cheeks and her smile grew, her eyes bright in the sunshine. She had never seen Jer be anything but composed and she had to admit she found it rather delightful to see he was just as human as everyone else.

"Perfect indeed" her tone hadn't changed from its original mischievous one, though she only just got chance to spit the words out before he was suggesting they move along, the blush now dying down on his cheeks; much to her disappointment she thought it was rather endearing. Before she even had chance to make a second comment he had linked arms with her, leading her through the crowd to an empty space near honeydukes. She had to admit moving in a pair through the crowd was much harder than flitting about on her own, not that she'd tell him anytime soon.

She noticed the amused grin on his face and she was sure her face was mirroring a similar expression as she turned her gaze to him. She giggled at his words in that light musical way she normally did, her frame shaking as she laughed, her tone still slightly more animate than normal as she spoke.

“I am rather sure you would have charmed that girl and your way out of it." she paused as if daring him to contest. "Nevertheless if you would rather i can pretend i believed you were shouting me all along?...She was my height at least..." she mused aloud, almost as if she was teasing.

Jeraud Cynster - June 24, 2008 07:13 PM (GMT)
Jer had heard her short answer of perfect indeed before he took her arm and headed through the crowd which he had to admit wasn’t a very easy task. Even so he continued along a small smile on his face as he moved him and Fawne to the window of Honeydukes. When they were both settled and he went on to ask her a question he waited for her answer patiently looking about them as he did so.

When he glanced back to Fawne his blush now completely gone it was to see an amused grin on her face and her giggling, the noise which he was learning to subject with her. As he watched her there was no doubting in his mind that it was good to see the young girl. He had to admit he missed her company no matter how odd or different it was. That was what he actually liked about it. Nevertheless he knew she’d been busy even now that summer had come and the tournament had started. He’d actually been surprised he’d gotten a chance to meet with her if he admitted.

Shaking his thoughts away Jer listened as he voice, now more animated, began speaking; commenting on his words. He laughed aloud at what she first said causing passers by to look at him strangely but that didn’t stop him from laughing. He kept on doing so until he heard her last bit. Hearing the teasing in her voice didn’t help at all as he blushed in embarrassment once again. He knew from now on Fawne would probably never forget this. With good reason though. After all he hardly ever embarrassed himself or made silly mistakes such as this. She’ll hold it against me my whole life, he thought to himself though it his thoughts were slightly amused.

“Charmed my way out of it huh? Maybe I might have, but who knows how the girl would have reacted. I could have gotten slapped for all I know for trying any bit of my charm on her. After all I am what six or seven years older than her.” Glancing to that girl as he said this he turned back to Fawne a smile on his face before he commented on her other words. “And hey I could have done worse alright Fawne.” His voice was slightly amused as Jer announced this the pink tint still residing in his cheeks as he glanced around them.

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 24, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
When he laughed she couldn’t help but smile, she found his personality contagious and his company too. She had to admit with all the stress of the tournament she had found very little time to do anything and looking at him as he laughed Fawne was suddenly even gladder she chose to spend her free day with the Medi-Wizard. His company was by far becoming one of the most important things to her, he was such a good friend already, and she’d miss not seeing him over the start of the holidays.

With a little shock she realised people were staring at them as he laughed and her reaction was to smile lightly at them waving her hand in greeting, causing a fair few to blanch and hurry on turning their gaze away; obvisouly shocked by Fawne’s nonchalant reaction.

As she turned her gray gaze back to Jer she realised he was now blushing again, it was certainly something she knew would be rare which is why she made all the more effort to commit the endearing act to memory. She would admit it was quite cute to see him blush and something she’d never expected to see. Though she’d let it drop of course, though she wouldn’t forget as long as she knew him.

She giggled when he commented about being slapped and it was obvious she was not the type to full out laugh, though her giggle seemed like a committed response not a half hearted one. She never did anything unless she wanted to; she made a choice and stuck to it. That was her nature and one of her many odd qualities. As she spoke her voice was still lighter, happier, and more alive than usual but just as melodic;

“I doubt she would be tall enough to harm you; I rather doubt i am...Besides i rather belive she would have surely been blinded by your wonderful blush. It is rather cute you know.” Her tone was amused again by the end a few giggles lacing her speech. Jer was 6 or 7 years older than her to be exact, Fawne being only 17 but still she didn’t see that as a problem in their friendship. She watched the back of the girl walk away and Fawne would admit that the hair was similar too though the girl did not move in the light flitting way Fawne did and that was all the difference she needed to be satisfied she didn’t have a Dopplerganger.

“You are right you could have picked worse, a blonde perhpas?" she raised her gaze to his, her eyes filled with amusement. Clasping her hands together behind her back she continued to hold his gaze as she spoke, her tone less mischievous now. “What are our plans for this glorious day?”

Jeraud Cynster - June 24, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
As Jer laughed he watched as Fawne smiled and waved in greeting to the people who were staring at them. He laughed even more at the people’s reactions. They acted like they were some sort of crazy people. Part of Jer had to wonder if he himself was, after all he looked like one right about then. Sighing quietly Jer finally took a deep breathe as his laughter died down and he returned to blushing at Fawne’s comment to charming his way out of the embarrassing situation. She’d probably been right but still.

Shaking his head at his train of thought Jer listened to her giggle at his words about probably being slapped. He chuckled along with her his hazel eyes now amused as he watched her. It seemed she didn’t believe him. Knowing this, part of Jer wanted to go show her that it would, but he knew if he was wrong and he did happen to charm his way out that he would be completely embarrassed and personally he didn’t want to be any more than he had that day. Even though it seemed to amuse Fawne it was a different emotion for him and he didn’t care for it much, let alone know how to react to it.

As Jer listened to her words he could only chuckle the sound soft and amused. So his blushing was cute? That’s definitely a new one, he thought to himself. She is right though the girl probably never stood a chance at slapping me. Looking down at himself at these thoughts Jer knew he was pretty tall after all. “Well I guess I’m going to have to umm…thank you for that? Anyways your probably right she was rather on the short side wasn’t she,” Jer mused as he took a quick glance to the girl who was now walking away and into the massive crowd of students.

When he turned back to Fawne it was to hear her speaking her usual dull gray eyes now filled with amusement. He flashed her his lop sided grin at the blonde comment. She was right and he couldn’t deny it. That’s why he shrugged lightly and listened to her question. What were they going to do today? Well first he wanted to know something. “Well whatever you feel like doing. I mean we could shop or go grab a bite to eat. Have you eaten yet? And then I have a place back in the woods behind Hogsmeade if you’d like to see it. Very pretty sight.” Pausing for a moment he shrugged showing her he didn’t care which one she choose. “Though before we start on our way I have to know, how have you been Fawne?”

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 25, 2008 12:14 AM (GMT)
Jer was cute in general but the age gap and the friendship line kept her from stating that aloud, that and she didn’t want to face the inevitable and compare him to Dorien’s inhuman beauty, thinking his name hurt enough. Besides Jer was handsome in a human way though, a very cute human way so why compare him to anything? Her thoughts were cut short when he spoke her eyes snapping back to their amused attention. She raised her hand to her mouth in mock offense when he said the girl was rather on the short side, after all Fawne had just stated she was about her height.

She couldn’t keep the shocked pretence up for long however when he looked down at himself to judge his height and then back at the girl now leaving in the crowd. The giggles didn’t break out this time but it seemed they were hidden in the tones of her voice, making her seem more imp like and mischievous than ever as she replied, after she’d finished asking what their plans were for the day of course.

“You do not take flattery well do you, perhaps you are far too modest Jeraud...Oh and I rather believe you are calling me short.” The last part was added on for emphasis hers eyes sparkling with amusement as she spoke. Still insisting on calling him Jeraud even though she’d never asked if she could, he had told her to call him Jer after all. She listened to his ideas with rapt attention nodding her head lightly, agreeing with some of the ideas. The amusement in her eyes however lessened when he asked her how she’d been she pondered her reply seriously for a moment, the smile never faltering of her lips but her eyes seemed a little less mischievous than before.

“My life has been wonderful, though my days have been a little busy, the tournament is tiring though delightful...And you sir, how have you faring?” She didn’t blanch at telling him her involvement in the tournament; it wasn’t a secret she just hadn’t wanted to drag it up last time when it hardly seemed appropriate. Her grey eyes watched him curiously for his reaction before she continued to speak the extra lightness in her tones still present.

“I ate breakfast before leaving, though if you are hungry I would not mind.” Of course once slice of toast hardly counted as breakfast but Fawne never really ate until tea time anyway. “However the place in the woods sounds wonderful, i imagine it is very beautiful..."

Jeraud Cynster - July 1, 2008 11:04 PM (GMT)
As Jer took in the raised hand in mock offense he could only smile trying to hold back his laughter. Studying people and their emotions all these years left Jer with a confident feeling that he knew Fawne really wasn’t upset or anything. This was proven to him as the look dashed away from her face in time to make due for the amusement and mischievous he knew her tones would soon hold. His thoughts were confirmed true as he listened to her smiling all along. His smile didn’t falter at her words though she was right he was far too modest. A trait that had always been associated with him for forever.

Shaking his head his sudden train of thought was interrupted by what she said right after claiming he was modest. He laughed aloud his hazel eyes filled with amusement. “Oh no Fawne I didn’t mean that at all. I believe I should watch what I say from now on huh?” Trailing off as he announced this last bit Jer’s laughter finally died down though his hazel eyes still held amusement. Even though he knew Fawne wasn’t truly angry at his absent minded words he still felt the need to explain. As he thought this he suddenly noticed she’d called him Jeraud, just like she did when ever they met. Of course it didn’t bother him in the least bit it’s just he guessed she would start calling him Jer now like any of his friends did. Even so Jer knew he shouldn’t be surprised. After all Fawne was so polite and well mannered.

As Jer went on to ask how she was and what she wanted to do he watched as the amusement in her eyes lessened almost making them more serious. He frowned just slightly, though it quickly vanished as he wondered if something had gone wrong. Though as he listened to her answer he let out a breathe he hadn’t known he’d been holding. Everything was fine, wonderful to be exact. He smiled at Fawne as she announced how tiring but delightful the tournament had been so far. Of course one might not call it “delightful” so to say but tiring yes, he could see that.

“I’m glad to hear you’ve been well. Though I have to say you’ll have to tell me more about the tournament. The one you neglected to tell me you signed up for.” Nodding to confirm this Jer paused for a moment then flashed her his lop sided grin to show her he wasn’t angry. “I’ve been tremendously bored, but good. I have to stay here at Hogwarts for the tournament and then home life is nothing to be too excited about except for maybe relaxing.” Shrugging as he trailed off Jer smiled at Fawne. There wasn’t too much of excitement in his life. The only things that had passed since the last time he’d met Fawne was going out with Gen, Derek getting attacked by a werewolf, meeting up with old school buddies, and etc.

Closing his mind and pushing his thoughts away Jer listened on as she went ahead and told him what she wanted to today. Hearing her speak about the place in the forest he grinned boyishly. The last time he went there had been with Gen and that hadn’t gone as well as he’d planned. Even so he knew with Fawne this time would be okay.

“No I’m quite alright. I ate a big breakfast. I just wanted to make sure you were okay though,” Jer announced before he went on his tone of voice now becoming excited. “The place is very wonderful and very beautiful. I’m sure you’ll love it. Do you want to head there now?” Pausing at this moment he glanced down to Fawne waiting for her answer. Excitement flashing through his expressions and eyes. He had always loved the place after all and being able to show it to Fawne, a good friend of his, was very exciting.

Fawne Sugarmoon - July 3, 2008 01:03 AM (GMT)
She watched him speak; well she mostly watched his eyes. She had always liked Hazel eyes, preferring it over any other colour. His eyes had been Hazel; well when he was in a ‘good’ mood anyway. She realised with a start she was doing it again. Comparing Jer and Dorien; something she really shouldn’t do. Dorien was a past love and Jer was just a friend. She didn’t compare other friends to Dorien so why should she compare Jer? Besides they were a species apart and that left a very unfair comparison. After all Jer was only human. Pushing the thoughts from her head she pulled her mind to the present and let herself reply about her health and her choice of activity Her eyes still slightly serious from her previous thoughts. However upon remembering his original reply her eyes soon became full of mischief once more. She chose to back track slightly as she replied.

“Oh? I would rather you did not watch your words, they keep me amused.” She laughed now, her laugh not much different from her giggle but perhaps brighter; a tinkling sound almost. Something that would suit a fairy not a lady. Though it fit well with her ethereal aura.

She went on to listen to his words carefully, her eyes watching his again and she was shocked to sense some sort of relief flash across them. He hadn’t been worried surely? She found it almost sweet to have someone worried about her, everyone else thought the tournament was a brilliant idea and showed nothing but enthusiasm for her. She left out a small gasp when he grinned; glad he wasn’t mad at her for not telling him about her involvement in the tournament. She honestly hadn’t deemed it that important at the time. Before she had chance to respond to his words he was moving on to talk about ‘the place’ and she found herself becoming rather excited by the idea of visiting there. It sounded lovely and from his words she could tell she would love it, just like he said.

She paused slightly as he waited for her reply, she could see the excitement washing through his expressions and eyes, the eyes she’d been watching so carefully as they spoke. She was surprised to feel similar excitement running through her own emotions, her eyes virtually sparkling with mirth and happiness. It was such a change to the dull dreamy look she normally sported; it was a pleasant change at least. With a light smile on her pale lips she spoke, not taking her eyes from his own excited ones.

“I am fine then and I would be delighted to head there now. The place sound wonderful and now I am most excited to get there. Of course I will require you to lead the way.” She giggled slightly and extended her arm for him to take like a gentleman usually did to a lady; like how they had just walked through the crowd to get here. Her tone was like wind chimes as she spoke, the happiness making her tones brighter. “I rather think I could share some details about the tournament. If you promise to return the favour of course, I find you rather interesting; I am sure your days can not have been that dull.”

OOC: i hope this makes sense, if it doesn't let me know and I'll edit, Basically the first paragraph is before she speaks her last post. The speech is before Jer replies to her last post, and the rest is after he replied. If that explanation make sense. Blah sorry. Oh and if i ramble sorry about that too. I'm in 'express thoughts' mode tonight.

Jeraud Cynster - July 4, 2008 12:39 AM (GMT)
As Jer listened to Fawne’s comments about not watching his words he laughed. So him and her had something in common other than healing. Jer, after all, found it much more amusing and fun if one acted before they thought. To him it made the conversation more fun, more lively. Of course though when it came to him being the one to act that way his thoughts changed. After all who liked to make a fool out of themselves? Certainly not him, but what could he do? Not much, he thought to himself briefly knowing who was he to deny his friend some amusement.

As Jer went on to speak about how glad he was to hear she was doing good and speak about the tournament he let out a sigh of relief finally noticing her concentrated gaze which continued to gaze into his own. Though he didn’t get to dwell on why she was doing so, so intently because she gasped at his joking grin and he laughed before going on and telling her how he was. As they both went on to speak about the place in the forest in turns Jer couldn’t contain the excitement that shined through. He was sure Fawne could see it. If the excitement that he saw flash through her eyes was any indication.

When Fawne began to speak there was no doubt left in Jer’s mind that he’d made a good choice in telling her about the place. She was excited or in her words delighted. The boyish grin on his face widened as she announced him to lead the way. Taking her extended arm gently he linked it with his own and laughed along as she giggled. Once he glanced her way to be sure she was ready Jer began to walk as she spoke once more her voice so light and happy that he almost didn’t catch what she said in the crowd of students.

“Of course I will give you information of my days in return. Your right there has been some things happening, but since you’ve caught my interest with the tournament and made me promise to indulge you in my days I’ll have too. After all I am a man of my word.” Trailing off he flashed her his lop sided grin before he looked in front of them and added. “You first.”

Fawne Sugarmoon - July 7, 2008 12:36 AM (GMT)
As she continued to watch his eyes, almost intently, she realised what exactly about them kept her curious. They were the hazel shade that belonged to Dorien, but they expressed emotions. Happiness, excitement, laughter; she could read his eyes and his expressions. Dorien’s had only ever been deep and serious. For some reason this new knowledge made her happy; Jer was human, not the metaphorical rock, and most importantly Jer was her friend. With a mental smile she stopped looking at Jer’s hazel orbs, the curiosity waning now. Besides her eyes were now lightly fluttering over the crowd, taking in the colours and such. Her smile was still happily in place as he spoke, her eyes were now glowing with an excitement to mirror his when she registered Jer’s growing grin.

She smiled kindly at him as he took her pro-offered arm, though her gaze was more concentrated as she had to listen extra hard as they walked. After all a crowd is anything but quite and with Jer’s calming tones and her soft ones it was a muted conversation at its loudest. However she found if she tilted her head slightly towards him it was easier to hear, and with this in mind she allowed him to lead the way. Her fluid footsteps now only being used to keep pace with his. As they walked, with linked arms, she realised it was like being in one of those old muggle films and the thought made her giggle; a little randomly in the conversation too. She didn’t blush at her outburst but merely continued on with the conversation; she often giggled at her own thoughts and thought nothing of it.

Fawne had smiled brightly when he claimed he was a man of his word, she had been unable to resist replying, her words pure instinct and spoken in that mischievous tone that seemed to colour her this morning. “And I a lady of mine… Although what I should tell you is questionable. I rather suppose you’ve heard I won the first task?” her tone was impish and light but slightly mysterious, like she was waiting for him to ask about the task. She moved her grey eyes form the crowd to glance at him, gauging his reaction. She did so like spending time with friends .

OOC: Sorry about the length, really couldn't get into "Fawne Mode" today lol

Jeraud Cynster - July 7, 2008 08:55 PM (GMT)
OOC: It's alright Fawne no worries. Sorry if my words sound jumbled in the second and third paragraphs. =]

IC:
As Jer watched Fawne continue to gaze into his hazel eyes he was a little surprised when she suddenly turned away and a satisfying look flashed through her own grey eyes before letting them move over the crowd. Almost instantly he wondered what she’d been thing. He could, after all, not just feel but see the curiosity and intense thinking she had adopted for the moment. Had his eyes held something she was wondering was about? Did they remind her of someone’s? Was there something in his eye? There was so many possibilities but after reveling the last one he went ahead and rubbed both eyes with his unoccupied hand, as one would to wipe away sleep.

As he finished his task Jer went on to talk about them both speaking about what has happened in their life so far since their last meeting. Him how he was spending his days and her the tournament. Once he linked their arms and started to move he watched her lean in to her what he sad. Mentally he noted that he would have to talk a little bit louder so she could hear. After all they weren’t the most loudest people in the world that was for sure. Especially Fawne with her melodic mischievous soft voice of hers.

When Jer heard her laugh he turned to her knowing he hadn’t said anything. Raising a quizzical eyebrow he couldn’t help but wonder what was so funny then it hit him. She must have been thinking. After all he knew he usually laughed at his thoughts, especially if they were amusing ones. Smiling to himself satisfied that he’d figured out the reason for her giggling he continued walking as he listened to her, making his way gently through the crowds.

“And I a lady of mine… Although what I should tell you is questionable. I rather suppose you’ve heard I won the first task?”

Hearing these words he had the decency to look surprised because he truly was. He hadn’t heard she’d won. Though knowing this he grinned at her, happy for her win. “Fawne, that’s great! I didn’t hear the winner of the task but now that I know well….I’m happy for you! When do you find out the winner for the next task?”

Fawne Sugarmoon - July 8, 2008 01:07 AM (GMT)
She noticed him raise a quizzical eyebrow at her laughter and the expression on his face was so adorable she couldn’t help but giggle once more. He probably thought she was nuts, if he didn’t already, but for some reason she didn’t think Jer would mind if she was insane or not. He was a good friend and although they hadn’t known each other for long, and he was a few years older than her she found he brought some much needed light in her life. And besides one can’t be set in a serene stone for all there life, for she had been just that; a serene unmoving stone. Maybe she’d pent too much time around vampires to be any different. She couldn’t bring herself to be bothered by the age gap, what’s was seven years when you dated someone and hundred your senior?

Her musing stopped there since she was giggling, in that tinkling way again, at Jer’s shocked expression. She found him so alive and extrovert, although calm at the same time. He brought out a less ethereal side in her, allowing her to giggle and be slightly impish. He was one of the few people who could wipe the serene misty look for her eyes and she couldn’t help but wish she had some solid claim to him. Sure they were friends but he was more important to her than that, she couldn’t help but feel slightly, although mentally, disappointed they weren’t related at least then she have a reason to get on so well with him. None of these thoughts showed in her actions though since they were split second and quick all occurring as she was giggling. His reply finally cutting through her laughter at his expression.

She matched his grin with her own, though it was more delicate. Her eyes turning towards him more than the crowd; though with no were near the same amount of intensity as before.

“It was glorious to be the victor; I am not as delicate as people presume, though I am no fighter.” She had always had knack for being bluntly polite and her voice held no malice to it, she was not annoyed by the presumption she was weak she just liked to prove she had some uses.

“The task was one of wisdom. I wonder if, like you once said, I had an advantage…Opps, that was rather immodest of me. How unusual, perhaps I am being immodest for the both of us?” She giggled lightly at her words, teasing him slightly about his modesty, whilst she wondered if he would remember him telling her she was wise for her age in the hospital wing. She supposed she would find out as she shot him an impish smile, gauging his reaction to her lightly spoken words.

“As for the second task, I am unsure as to when the results will be given, nevertheless I do hope I did my best for the house. It would be wonderful to win for them”

Jeraud Cynster - July 9, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
Watching Fawne giggle at both his quizzical expression and not to mention the shock that flashed through his features as he realized she’d won the first task he could feel himself smiling in an almost giddy like way. It was always great to see her usually dull yet misty grey eyes come alive and sparkle with everything from imp like mischievousness to even sadness. As long as she showed some kind of emotion, that left her looking more human than normal, made him happy. Even though this was the way Fawne was he couldn’t help but be bothered by it sometimes. It made him think she’d had a bad past and this was what happened in return. Briefly he mused this was probably why he always jumped at the chance to make her laugh.

Smiling at his thoughts he continued to guide them through the crowd past more stores and closer to the forest. He glanced a few times to Fawne, just to make sure she was alright and each time he did so she seemed to be in deep thought. A deep thought he wouldn’t dare to interrupt on purpose. Knowing this he turned away from her once more as he waited for her to comment on his excitement of her winning.

When she did happen to speak, her soft melodic tones reaching his ears he turned toward her and watched the matching grin light her pale face, giving it some life. He couldn’t help but smile at hearing her words They were very true. He would never think of her as a fighter, though he was sure, if the time came, she would work with what she had and in the end do fairly well. At least that was his opinion. “I would never think you so delicate Fawne. I’m sure, as you’ve proved in this tournament, that when it comes time to fighting that you’ll work with what you have and do fairly well. Your very strong, in many ways than one, don’t forget that.”

Trailing off he listened as Fawne went on. He chuckled softly at her words. Remembering exactly when he’d told her she was wise beyond her years. It had been when they’d first met, in the Hospital Wing, right after he’d announced he’d thought she was a Ravenclaw. “Yes I remember that….hmm maybe you did maybe you didn’t. Everyone has their strengths so I’m not sure if that could be called an advantage. I really don‘t know….” Pausing for a moment he shook his head and let out a laugh before turning to her, his hazel eyes peering, as he asked, “What do you think?”

“Oh and yes, go right ahead and be immodest for the both of us. You’ll have a life time of mine to live up though so you better start now.” Flashing Fawne his lop sided smile he turned to look where they were. Upon seeing they were getting closer and closer with each passing second he smiled; glad that it wasn’t far now. Thinking these thoughts Jer was interrupted in his musings at Fawne’s last words. Hearing a hint of skepticism in her voice he nudged her gently and spoke with a reassuring smile.

“I’m sure you did them proud Fawne. And if not, you did the best you can and that’s all that really ever matters.”

Fawne had always been a little odd, even as a child, but never more so than after she’d seen her father die. She always been big on politeness and her voice was naturally soft but the dreamy exterior was only an amplified part of her personality, a defence , there were some underlying traits which were eager to escape; not that she often let them. That was one of the reasons why she liked Jer; he brought out some of those underlying traits. He made her feel human, alive even just by making her laugh.

She smiled, more sweetly than the mischievous one she’d been harbouring lately. Jer’s comments on being stronger in more ways than one causing a light blush to tinge her cheeks; though it was very light, more pink than red. If he continued to say these things she was going to be incredibly immodest by the end of the day. She found herself tilting her head curiously as he spoke about strengths and advantages, she could see his point easily. But then she could see lots of points easily she was far too open minded sometimes. Her voice was more musing than mischievous as she spoke but a light still shone in her once misty eyes.

“I believe I agree, nobody is perfect at everything, it was rather silly of me to call it an advantage…I find your compliments glorious but if you continue to bestow them upon me I fear I will not be able to fit through the castle doors due to a swollen head” she winked at him playfully, and the gesture seemed so at odds with her appearance, but the giggled cancelled the affect out.

Her own sweet smile grew when he flashed his lob sided one at her, she found it very adorable, and very suiting to him. Craven had a similar smile though he couldn’t loose the traces of Slytherin in it. Jer’s was just pure smile. Her grey eyes glanced at the retreating buildings when he told her doing a best was all that ever mattered. She’d heard similar words before from her father and hearing them brought up past memories. Though not painful ones, since there was still that little sweet smile on her fair lips.

“You are far to nice to me I believe, but I shall remember your words always friend…” the pause was slight and mainly to wipe away any awkwardness they may have caused. Her voice suddenly more bright and tinkling, her eyes aglow with excitement. “Oh the forest edge. I am excited for the clearing.”

As Jer spoke about being stronger in more ways then one to Fawne there was no mistaking the light blush that left her usually pale cheeks alive and colored as he glanced her way. He smiled, widely to be honest, at this response. It was a change, a nice one, to see color in her face. This brought him back to his earlier thoughts of liking to see Fawne more alive then ethereal looking. Sighing slightly he knew this was her and it couldn’t be helped, but still. Smiling a little he shook his head before going on to take turns speaking and listening with Fawne. In other words going on to converse.

While Jer spoke about strengths being advantages or not he pretty much got himself confused in the end and finally laughed and asked Fawne what she thought. Glancing to her Jer took in her tilted head of curiosity before she went ahead and spoke in musing or otherwise known as thoughtful tones. He nodded to her words slowly in a way of agreeing with her. He personally liked her explanation of it more than his own as he’d never been good at explaining things. A problem which proved annoying in the past, especially when one was trying to explain how to complete or do something. Smiling a little at this thoughts, past memories coming into place he was pulled out of his musings by Fawne’s comment. Watching her wink playfully and giggle he laughed aloud in true amusement.

“Oh my dear dear Fawne. My words are truthful. And I doubt your head will grow that big, I mean the great oak doors are quite large to say the least.” Laughter dying down at this point he grinned at Fawne. Most of his laughter had been caused by the wink he’d caught from the girl, knowing this was an action he would have never expected from her. Nevertheless it was an interesting if not humorous one. I guess you learn new things everyday, he thought to himself smiling. Just as this thought entered her mind was when Fawne spoke about not doing good enough in the tournament. He instantly smiled at her and nudged her gently before telling her if not then at least she’d tried her best. The response he got back from her made Jer smile.

“Far too nice huh? Is that a hint or something Fawne? I’m always nice, to everyone. It’s in my nature. But yes I do hope you remember my words after all they are the truth. It should never matter whether or not you win or anything of that such. It only matters that you did your best.” Trailing off at these words Jer smiled softly at Fawne and continued to walk. He hadn’t registered how close they were to the forest until Fawne’s words. Glancing to her his hazel eyes took in her excitement. Knowing that she was excited, in turn made him excited. Listening to her speak let Jer know once again he’d made the right choice in showing her the place.

“I’m glad to hear your excited. I am too. After all this is a very special place to me, holds many memories. Most of them are pretty good….though it hurts to remember them.” Sighing deeply Jer glanced to Fawne and flashed her a smile. It was a sad one, but it also told her that if she were to protest going in because of what he said he would make her one way or another. At that he turned and began to guide her through the forest. Announcing ‘watch your step’ every once in awhile. As they came closer and closer he suddenly stopped. Glancing to Fawne he grinned over at her and spoke.

“Close your eyes.”
