Title: Stupid Broom...
Description: OPEN

Lily-Ann Pace - June 23, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
"Oh bother." Lily-Ann said, putting her hands on her hips. The only reason this should be difficult, was because she was upside down, and floating at least twenty feet up in the air, and hanging on with her legs to her broom. This wasn't really fair, Lily-Ann decided. She had MADE this broom, and it was usually very well behaved but today it was just being mean.
"At least it picked a good day to turn me downside up..." What Lily-Ann meant by this was, she normally flew while she was in a dress or skirt of sorts, but today she was simply wearing a pair of denim shorts, knee high rainbow stockings and a snug yellow t-shirt. Lily-Ann crossed her arms as the broom started to fall to the ground.
"Broom don't you dare! Now turn me downside DOWN, and I won't sand you raw. If you make me hit my head I'll have you turned into pencils, I swear." Lily-Ann was now 5 feet from the ground and so she carefully grabbed her ankles and pulled herself up with great skill. She gripped the broom, and then she let go, falling on her knees. They were skinned.
"D*mn it..." She whispered, looking at her bloody knees. "This is your fault you know. You're worse than my first broom I made." Lily-Ann hissed cruelly at the broom. It seemed to whimper and fell to the ground. Lily-Ann stuck her tounge out at it.

Shirley Singh - June 23, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
Shirley had been sitting up in the Gryffindor stands reading her book when she noticed someone was flying in the air. Watching mesmorized by the girl as she flew around the pitch Shirley wished she could do that. If I wasn't so afraid...I make a pathetic Gryffindor

However, when the girl started to fall, Shirley's heart jumped in her throat. She reached through her pockets frantically searching for her wand to slow the girl down but it was too late. The girl was already on the ground by the time her wand was out.

Running out to the pitch as fast as she could, Shirley huffed and puffed muttering about needing more excercise as she came up to the girl and asked "Would you like some help? I'm training to be a healer, so I can help" She offered the girl a worried and friendly smile.

Solana Lilly - June 23, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
Solana walked onto the Qudditch pitch, her Firebolt in hand, to do a bit of practicing. She was hoping to make her house team, even though she despised her house.

She saw a girl talking to her broom, threatning it, before falling to the ground.

She walked over to her, smirking slightly, "Need a hand?" she said.

Lily-Ann Pace - June 23, 2008 01:09 AM (GMT)
Lily-Ann stared at the girl, but mostly at her robes. She wasn't supposed to hang out with Gryffindors... but her parents didn't care anymore... Why not?
Lily-Ann smiled at her, "Yea sure, that would be neat. I make the brooms myself and so they have their own personalities and this one... is just being mean." Lily-Ann examined the girl as she busied herself with Lily-Ann's knees.
She was rather pretty, Lily-Ann had to admit, even if she hated admitting to herself that she liked girls, yes, and guys, yes.
Another girl came up, and Lily-Ann mentally sighed, Why me? They were both far too pretty for Lily-Ann to hardly stand it...
"Um, it looks like... she's got it. But um, she may need some help?" Lily-Ann looked at the other girl and shrugged. "My broom, like I just told her, I made it and it has it's own... personality and today it was being mean." Lily-Ann looked at her knees and bit her lip. She hoped it wouldn't leaves scars, because then she would have to explain to William and he would laugh. Stupid big brothers...

Shirley smiled slightly as the girl let her tend to her wounds. Picking up her wand and remembering the spells that she had read in her healer training book, Shirley took great care in the encantations of the spells, making sure to keep the knees from infection and swelling. Without speaking for a good minute to the girl, she stepped back once her spells were done and smiled at her handiwork. "Good as new" she mumbled quietly to herself and to the girl who had yet to introduce herself.

"Um, it looks like... she's got it. But um, she may need some help?"

Once she was done, Shirley finally noticed the other girl who had arrived. Shaking her head no she said to both girls "I'm finished with the knees, I won't be needing any help." Smiling back towards the girl who was just injured she said "If there are any other injuries I'd be happy to try and fix them up. I'm Shirley by the way, who might you be?" She directed that last statement towards both girls. She did find the part about making her own brooms, even if they were dangerous, really impressive. Shirley was always impressed with feats of intelligence and voiced her thoughts quietly "You must be intelligent to make your own brooms, even if they do have minds of their own" she finished with a slightly teasing tone.

Solana Lilly - June 23, 2008 01:28 AM (GMT)
Solana's eyebrows rose when the girl mentioned that she made her own brooms. Personalities? She thought.

However, she looked like an interesting person so she decided not to judge her too early like she usually did with everyone else, which was the reason she had like three friends.

"I'm Solana," she replied to the other girl, the one who had healed the first ones knees. "Solana Lilly: The only person in my entire family to sort to Hufflepuff." She was still bitter about that.

Lily-Ann Pace - June 23, 2008 12:38 PM (GMT)
"Thanks... erm Shirley. I'm Lily-Ann Pace. Fith year, Slytherin." Lily-Ann shrugged, and nodded to Solana, "I know what you mean, Solana, I was so nervous I wouldn't get into Slytherin or Ravenclaw, the family houses. It's so stupid for parents to be wrapped up in it, in my opinion." Lily-Ann shrugged. "You look like you fly, Solana, but do you Shirley?" Lily-Ann smiled.
OOC: Sorry for la shortness

Shirley Singh - June 23, 2008 12:59 PM (GMT)
When the girl who had walked down to the pitch mentioned that she was the only person from her family in Hufflepuff, she sounded so bitter that Shirley could hardly believe her ears. While she herself believed she was a Ravenclaw, she had found that she did fit into Gryffindor as well, and the Sorting Hat always had its reasons. Being bitter solved nothing, working harder to prove oneself was what she had been taught to do. Not knowing what to say to this girl she nodded shortly as her mind continued to process information.

Shirley smiled softly as the girl Lily-Ann thanked her. However, when the girl mentioned she was in Slytherin, Shirley frowned for a breif moment. From what she could recall, this may have been one of her first so far pleasant encounters with a Slytherin. At least this girl realized houses weren't everything.

"You look like you fly, Solana, but do you Shirley?" Lily-Ann smiled.

Flying. Shirley instinctly huddled a little closer to herself as she shook her head no. "I've never flown and I never plan on it. If I have to be up in the air it'd be an airplane, never a broom." Still shivering at the thought she realized she had stated her name but never her house and remembering that the other two had mentioned she added breifly "I'm a sixth year Gryffindor by the way." hoping her new found acquantince wouldn't run away at the news.

(OOC: it's fine, no biggie)

Solana Lilly - June 23, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
"I fly," replied Solana, "Constantly. As for the parents being stupid - every single person in my family tree, even my mother, who is a half-blood, have been in Slytherin, so I kinda broke that tradtition,"

She smoothed her lime green shirt-dress. Some people would think it was weird she was flying in a dress and tights but she didn't care.

"Shirley, how come you don't like to fly?"
