Title: The end of a Peaceful day
Description: Sora

Shirley Singh - June 23, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
Shirley couldn't help the small bounce in her step. For once, she was happy and at peace with herself. She had gotten a letter from her parents today and they said they were proud of her. Of her! This is what Shirley strived for, her parents, specifically her father's pride and acceptance.

With each small bounce she took towards the large oak tree that she loved, her long pony tail smacked against her neck and back. Stupid hair she thought as she slowed her pace to keep it from bouncing. Looking and taking in her surroundings, Shirley smiled softly as she gazed on all the happy students who were with their boyfriends, girlfriends, and just...friends. Shirley expected a quiet solitary afternoon by her oak tree to study, and though her heart gave a soft pang in the direction of happy laughter, she knew it was neccessary.

Once Shirley reached the tree, she brushed off her skirt before sitting down on the hard ground. Leaning her back against the tree she sighed, taking her glasses off for a moment so that she could rub her eyes. Once she had gotten herself settled, and her glasses were perched on her nose where they belonged, she took out her book on healing spells and snuggled into the back of the tree to enjoy her reading and peaceful feeling.

Sora sat on the opposite end of the grounds, glaring venomously at a speck of dirt on his robes. He wasn't in the mood to recall a spell to magic it away. Today was just a day to relax. His long brown hair was plastered to his face and his face was glistening. No, not with sweat. The boy shuddered at the thought. He had just stepped outside after his usual mid-day shower to cool off. He had scrubbed his skin so much that it burned and was tinted slightly red. Someone's potion had exploded, dousing Sora in the green sticky mass. With a small yelp, he had run from the room and into the nearest bathroom to clean himself vigorously.

The grounds were full of students, all talking loudly or else reading their textbooks. Sora had left his bag in the Common Room and didn't want to retrieve it. He had already studied for the day. His head spun slightly at all the information he had to cram for a Potions exam.

He got to his feet and stretched lazily. The sun kept on shining in his eyes and he was hot. He examined the grounds and upon finding a large oak tree, smiled. He sauntered over to it and took a seat. Or than did he realize there was a girl seated not four feet from him.

Shirley was enjoying the feel of the warm sun on her as she enjoyed her book. Muttering the healing incantations under her breath, she mimicked the wrist movements needed to complete the spells without her wand, afterall, healing spells took a lot out of a person and she just wanted to relax today.

Unexpectedly Shirley was distracted from her book and her chain of thoughts interrupted when she heard the soft noise of someone sitting down at her tree. Looking up to see who had wrecked her concentration, Shirley groaned softly to herself. Sora. If there was one person who always managed to get under her skin, it was him and honestly she wasn't in the mood for it.

Wondering if he sat there on purpose to annoy her she looked at him strangely for a moment, noting that he looked redder and more wet than normal and trying not to sound too rude she asked as politely as she could muster, "Was there something you wanted since you decided to sit at the same tree as me?"
