Title: Lesson One

Demetrius Eros - June 24, 2008 02:26 PM (GMT)
Professor Eros stood over his desk, rummaging through the drawers. Gis wand was poking out of his breast pocket. Instead of he usual robes worn by staff at Hogwarts, he wore a black suit that could normally be found in Muggle shops. His shoes were shined so they gleamed in the candlelight and his white hair was messy. It appeared he was anxious. He surveyed the room, eyes darting left and right in search of something. Green Healer uniforms were hung in the back of the room, along with a picture of himself, obviously much younger, in this Healer robes was near the large window that had a view of the Whomping Willow. The rest of the wall space was covered by closets, shelves, and cabinets, All of them were closed for the time being.

The professor ran a hand through his thick head of hair distractedly before he sighed, grabbing a small bottle of green liquid. He took a swig quickly and immediantly, he relaxed. He grinned as he took a seat at his desk, his hands clasped together on the surface in front of him, as he waited for his class to come.

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 24, 2008 03:23 PM (GMT)
She couldn't belive her luck, she'd been waiting for such a chance for years. Having always been interested in healing she was glad to find out the school was now offering a lesson! That and the professor was head of her house, how much luckier could she get? She just hoped Jer would still be willing to teach her too, she would appreciate the extra tuition.

She supposed her excitement was why she was so early to the class, early enough to hear the professor still moving around in the room. With a glance at her watch she decided it was around time normal people would turn up to class and so she knocked lightly on the door, slipping through and open gap rather than pushing the door entrily open. With a small half smile on her lips she took a fluid steps into the classroom.

"Wonderful Morning Professor." she walked lightly further into the room, choosing to sit at the very front of the class.

Flame Harshing - June 24, 2008 03:25 PM (GMT)
Few would have expected it of her, they saw her as a person of destruction, but Flam had a better side. She occasionally had the urge to help those who hurt, and she wanted to learn how. That was why she had taken the class. She walked inbto the classroom and sat down, wordlessly, scared.

Valentina Greysoul - June 24, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
Valentina never actually knew those kind of lessons excisted, and even in her third year she hadn't chosen to learn it due to it's weak popularity, but since the beggining of the year, she had already changed somehow.

She marched in the room, with one thick book in her left hand ("Begginers Book On How To Cure", for personal reading) and the other two school books in the other hand, with a heavy racksack and her ebony wand sticking out from her black school cloack.

"good morning, professor, sir!" she said merrily. She looked around the classroom when she saw two faces she knew very well.

The first was Fawne, Valentina's close Gryffindor friend. Fawne had cured her when she had got hurt during break time.
The second was Flame. Valentina had met her once after dinner. Flame wasn't exactly polite, and many times she didn't evenforce herself not to show...

Valentina walked uncertainly by Fawne's desk, and asked in a weak voice: "hey, Fawne! May i sit here?"

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 24, 2008 04:34 PM (GMT)
Fawne was removing several books from her bag and onto her desk, piled neatly but in no order on the corner of her work space. The first book was a crimson coloured notebook which was a record of her own healing progress. What she knew and what she wanted to. Her own notes and and records. This was her personal treasure. The rest were healing books that her mother had brought her and had bound in the same crimson material as the note book, there titles etched on in silver.

She placed and Ebony quill atop the pile and waited for the lesson to begin. Paying no attention to Flame who had just entered the room but flashing Valentina her normal half smile in greeting. When Valentina headed over and asked to sit down Fae nodded lightly, her hair bobbing with the movement.

"That would be delightful."

Melanie Hunter - June 24, 2008 09:43 PM (GMT)
*Melanie entered the classroom quickly, a grin on her face already. She was so excited for this class, only wishing she had been able to take it sooner as it was her dream to be a healer. Not to mention, Fawne would naturally be in it, too, and Ian decided to sign up for the class as well. Melanie was so proud of him when he did. He figured it was the right thing to do...it was a very useful subject and he would probably need to know how to do certain things to help Mel in the future....

Alex, however, told Mel that he thought the class was pointless, which...Mel was less than happy about.

Not to mention, the professor was supposed to be the new Gryffindor head of house. Talk about perfect....*

Melanie:"Good morning, professor!" *she greeted in a tone much happier than any she had sported recently as she came through the door way. With her was a bag of a light brown leather with an intricate design of flowers embellished all over it.

Melanie walked briskly over to Professor Eros.*

Melanie:"I wanted to introduce myself, sir. I'm Melanie Hunter, and I'm hoping to study healing next year and take it up as a career. Not to mention the fact that I'm a Gryffindor and I heard you would be our new Head of House. So...I thought it would be good for us to get acquainted." *she introduced herself, her grin and bright tone never stopping.

Ian entered shortly after Mel. He smiled and rolled his eyes when he saw that she was making a huge deal out of introducing herself to the Professor. Enough that she hadn't even seemed to notice Fawne yet. He refrained from greeting the professor so Mel could have her moment as he walked to a seat at the end of the first row and sat down. He turned to look at Fawne and smiled. She was such a pleasant person, he couldn't help it.*

Ian:'Hey, Fawne." *he greeted her quietly with a little nod.*"Should've known you'd be taking this class too." *he joked.*

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 24, 2008 11:03 PM (GMT)
Fawne smiled when she heard a familiar voice in the room, Mel was introducing herself to the professor with much more enthusiasm than Fawne had seen in her for quite some while. It made her giggle lightly although quietly at the improved mood of Mel and she made no sign to interrupt her introduction. She would just wait for Mel to notice her, which had to be at some point. Hopefully she would choose the spare desk at her left side to sit at, since Valentina was at the other. Fawne had found a good friend in Mel and any excuse to talk was a good one.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed Mel’s younger brother sit down in front of her. She’d meet Ian a couple of times before and a welcoming smile spread instinctively to her lips as he spoke, his tone joking. She nodded her head slightly in a returned greeting before responding in her normal soft tones. She was becoming a bit popular in this class, probably due to her helping in the hospital wing, but thankfully the lesson hadn’t started yet so the talking should be allowed.

“Oh Hello Ian, you should know you cannot keep me away from healing.” She giggled once more to show she was replying in jest. Before her tone turned light, making conversation “I am surprised to see you here though, nevertheless i am rather sure you will find the lesson delightful...Melanie seems to be looking forward to the class also.” She was still smiling as she spoke. ..

Angela Jiminez - June 25, 2008 12:26 AM (GMT)
Angela actually didn't mind having this class. It wouldn't be so bad learning about healing and how to do it. She walked into the classroom and found an empty seat. She really didn't care if she was next to anyone as long as they didn't talk to her. She sighed and waited for the professor to begin the lesson.

Demetrius Eros - June 25, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)

Professor Eros nodded in greeting to the first few students who entered. It wasn't until a particularly cheerful young girl entered he decided to speak up. "Why, my dear. Healing is a very admireable career to choose. I warn you now though, it is also a very stressful job. You might be in for a little more than you bargained for. I wish you the best of luck in my class and in your hopeful career." He said, smiling kindly at her. He nodded as she spoke. "Yes, I have been appointed the new Gryffindor Head of House. I fear I haven't had a chance to enter the Common Room yet, but from what I can tell, if will be an enjoyable experience."

He examined the rest of the class, counting heads slowly. "Let's see...we have six students who have arrived slightly early. As you all seem so excited for the lesson, I will start the lesson. I guessed we might have a small number of students for the start of the term. But no matter the stereotype or what your friends might say, this is a very useful class. Even if you don't plan on working as a Healer."

He turned his back to the class and tapped his long wand against the board several times. Words began appearing on the board very quickly. By the time Professor Eros turned back to his class it read:

Medicinal Magic
Professor Demetrius Eros
Gryffindor Head of House
If you have any questions on any of the assignments, please don't hesitate to stop by my office and ask.

He began pacing around the classroom, examining his students intently. The old professor smoothed his small beard before continuing. "I should hope everyone is planning on continuing Potions if you wish to be a part of my class. As your Potions professor has undoubtably told you, many potions having healing powers. And I should also hope that you have all at least witness a Healer at work. Either in the Hospital Wing or at St.Mungo's. I must warm you that not all curses and injuries are able to be fixed with magic. That is why the fourth floor of the wizarding hospital is called Spell Damage. This ward is for people who have had unliftable jinxes, hexes, and incorrectly applied charms cast upon them. Does anyone know anything about St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Malidies and Injuries?"

He asked the class, surveying the room for a student with his or her hand raised. He pointed his wand at the lime green robes hanging in the back of the room. They appeared over his usual Muggle suit.

April Teagan - June 25, 2008 02:20 AM (GMT)
April realized she was a bit late for Medicinal Magic, which she had taken because she was absolutely horrible at spells for curing people. Figuring it would be very helpful what with the death eaters and everything, she had taken the leap and hoped to at least make an effort in the class. She was a good student, so she knew she could handle her huge workload and learn something new. As a prominant dueler, she was hoping to gain insight on how to cure battle wounds as well.

"Sorry I'm late Professor," she said, rushing into the room, and sat down immediately. She seemed to have interupted him after a question, and was hoping to atleast catch the answer.

She took out parchment and a quill, dipping it in ink and quickly wrote what was written on the board, paying rapt attention to anything he rProfessor said so she could do well in the class. She smiled apologetically when he looked at her sternly.

Melanie Hunter - June 25, 2008 04:55 AM (GMT)
*Melanie grinned at the Professor and hurried over to the open seat next to Fawne. She waved excitedly at her, not wanting to make noise because the professor was starting class. She pulled out the necessary note taking materials and prepared to take the most detailed notes she could ever imagine.

"Does anyone know anything about St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries?" he asked.

Melanie thought sourly of all of the visits she had to make there in the past few years and raised her hand slowly, with a less-than-happy expression. She could probably rattle the floor plan and all of Healers who worked the floors off the top of her head.

Ian listened intently to the Professor, picking out any information that he thought would be good to put in his notes. Ian had been to the hospital much less than Mel had, but he had still been there an awful lot. He raised his hand to answer the question as well, but with a half smile.

Flame Harshing - June 25, 2008 10:51 AM (GMT)
Flame watched the professor. Saint mungo's, eh? Of course she knew about Mungo's, her father had been in there, and she knew she'd put at least one person in there. She looked at the professor intently and then smirked, raising her hand coolly. She'd answer this, maybe gain some points for her house, and she was glad to announce to herself she felt preferred above some students.

Fawne Sugarmoon - June 25, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
She waved in reply to Mel when she sat down but made no move to pursue a conversation. Her grey eyes now locked on the professor who was starting the lesson, she could tell now that what she learnt here would be invaluable when Jer was teaching her in the hospital wing. She thought over his question quickly, she knew a fair bit about St. Mungos. She'd been there herself twice on serious occasions, another time for her father, another for her younger brother’s birth and a last when that jinx backfired and altered Cravens eye colour. She had probably visited most of the departments already.

With this knowledge in mind she raised a pale hand into the air, half smile on here lips as she noted several other students respond in similar manners.

Lily-Ann Pace - June 26, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
Lily-Ann was mad at herself, mostly. This year was the first year she'd been late to classes and it made her upset. She'd never been late before, why now?
But Lily-Ann had a note none-the-less from the librarian. Lily-Ann was always in there so the Librarian had her put away a few books and Lily-Ann lost time. Lily-Ann came in quietly and placed the note on the Professors desk, "Sorry for being late, sir." She said and then sat down at a desk, taking out parchment and a quill while mentally scolding herself.

Angela Jiminez - June 26, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
Angela thought for a minute about the question. She really didn't care. She figured anyone who went in there was because her and her family wanted them hurt. She sighed and looked over seeing another slytherin raising her hand.

Vero Watson - July 15, 2008 11:11 PM (GMT)
Vero arrived to class, she thought that she was on time, she noticed that the teacher had already started the class, "Sorry, Professor." Vero said before she tripped over someones backpack. "OOMMFFPPP." Vero squealed before she hit the floor. Vero caught herself with her hands and quickly stood up. Vero could feel her face burning as she walked to her seat in the back of the class as she heard many student giggle. "Great, first impression Vero." Vero thought to herself has she pulled out her book, quill and parchment.

Demetrius Eros - July 23, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
(Sorry about my hiatus. My internet died. As did part of my soul.)

Professor Eros nodded curtly to the several students who arrived late. He examined the room with a small smile on his lips as several hands shot into the air. "Well. Let me see..." He murmured, his eyes falling across each of the faces. There was a loud thump and an even louder squeal of pain as one of the late girls nearly fell to the floor. She caught herself, her face burning and walked to the back of the classroom. Eros blinked once, twice, thrice and than nodded towards Flame as if nothing had happened. He wasn't the Slytherin professor who would further humiliate the clumsy girl.

"Ms. Harshing, you had an answer for us?" He asked, waiting for a response from the girl.

Brendon Ferguson - August 9, 2008 07:25 AM (GMT)
Brendon came hurriedly to class. He wasn't satisfied with himself. He had come late to class about twice already now. He hurried on, surprised that his bag hasn't broken yet because of all the swinging it does when he's running late to class.
He arrived.
"Good Morning, Professor!" he said, puffed. "Sorry, I'm late, sir."
He hurried to a desk, hoping he would not give him a detention. He has so many things to do at the moment, he could hardly fit in a detention.

Valentina Greysoul - August 9, 2008 04:02 PM (GMT)
Valentina jumped when she heard a loud sqeal, which covered the thump!.
She turned around to see who it was. Vero. She didn't giggle, but she did smile. She had never met the clumbsy Vero before.
