Title: Friends through it all

Flame Harshing - June 24, 2008 04:49 PM (GMT)
Flame walked down to the dungeons, bored. These were some of the many places she came when she felt that need to breathe. Occasionally she was glad to run into people, at others she wouldn't. Today she would have been, she was bored and her mind riddled by what her father had said last time they spoke. But also, behind the confusion, she was sad- she missed friendships, especially that she had shared with Craven. She pushed a strand of hair behind her ear and sighed, thinking about him. He was hot, and she found him attractive- what else could she do?

He was walking down towards the common room, traveling the paths of the dungeons with a cocky grin on his lips as he had just left the company of his newest friend, Rebecca. Hufflepuff or not the girl was a perfect friend for him, though it did cross his mind that he'd been neglecting his old friends and he did miss them; occasionally...

He was virtually exuding arrogance as he walked, no sauntered, attitude having changed greatly form the once loner to the now powerfully unapproachable. It was a change many had seen coming since no one seem surprised, his sister least of all. His mismatched eyes filled with a smug sense fo self. He almost completely over looked the black hair girl he passed, but he realised with a start it was flame. Think of the devil and they appear, or the saying was something like that. Pausing in his steps her turned slightly, his voice still deep and rough.

"Flame, that you?"

She hadn't been paying much attention to the world around her, she was far too wrapped up in her own world. Her concerns had overtook her priority, and she couldn't have cared less about what was happening around her. She was withdrawn from students now, friends with regular contact only with one- Fox- and then there was Ryder.

Many people said that student/professor relationships were wrong, but she couldfind no wrong in it, and it wasn't like any of the students actually liked her in that way. She was too dark for them, too deeply in with the wrong crowd outside of school.

A voice brought her back to reality- familiar, lovable. She hadn't heard it for so long, yet she had never forgotten it. She turned and smiled casually at him, amazed he had turned up when she had been thinking of him.

"Craven? Didn't think you were still around."

His grin through still cocky was brighter, it was Flame. Someone he hadn't properly spoke to or seen for nearly year. He'd heard about Harshing being her father and a rumour about her being pregnant but that was probably nonsense. Since she'd never come to him for help he'd never offered it. Friends or not he was still a slathering. With a slightly nostalgic sigh her turned himself fully around to face Flame.

It was clear now her face her full on that he'd grown up in the past months, he was taller, more confident even. His hair longer but still fashionable unkempt and he looked healthier. He still had that naturally tall build that suggested he had muscle somewhere. It was obvious his personality development had caused a few changes to. Just form the arrogance that glanced out of his mismatched eyes automatically. His gaze roamed over Flame shortly, not in a attracted way but in a way that suggested he was taking in the changes of her.

His voice was confident when he spoke, teasing almost but not quite fully sarcastic; he was testing the waters. "Nope I've been around, in the spot light more now that ever...What about you, you vanished of the face of the planet, don't suppose you've been hiding from me have you?" He laughed to show he was jesting.

She'd been keeping herself to herself. She'd, at one stage, ran from everything, only to return again. She was ashamed of past events, yet acted proud. She conflicted her true self at every moment, knowing what was best. She had to keep her distance from normal people- she couldn't risk them.

She smirked at him and culdn't help noticig how much he'd changed. He was more confident, fashionable, and didn't stay in the shadow anymore. It was strange to see him so, yet sh found him perhapsthat little mre attractive than the boy who had lurked in shadows. She pushed the thought from her mind quickly, blushing as if she thought he'd heard that.

"I've been avoiding everyone." she stated simply. "The world is too small for me to bring more destruction upon it."

His voice was confident, rough and playful when he spoke. Obviously making sure Flame did not take his next words the wrong way, he was joking with her. Natural tease at heart.

"Funny I always thought the Slytherin robes were a good reason to cause destruction. Kind of comes with the territory" he grinned then, a full out cocky grin the suited him. He took a few steps closer to her, feeling in formal talking to her form such a distance, it wasn't like he had the plague.

"Oh that reminds me..." He raised a hand to his heart and closed his eyes, making a depressed face. "My heart is broken for I have been avoided. How could she avoid me, me? Who she’s known for years. I feel so alone..." his voice was melodramatic but still deep in tone, and at the end of his teasing speech he dropped the act and returned back to the arrogant look that was quickly becoming associated with him. "I bet you missed me."

Eyes couldn't stop scanning him, taking in all the changes. Something had definitely happened to this boy in the last year- not that she minded- it made him better. She liked him outgoing and confident, it suited him, and she loved it.

"A Slytherin does as a Slytherin must, but occasionally things happen to change that. We must not destruct ourselves from within, Craven, but root those who are not pure from the system entirely." she seemed so different when she spoke like this- a strange hypnotic wisdom in her voice, something she never meant to put their.

He got closer and she tilted head downwards- she couldn't loose control. Not with Craven, not with anybody, for Ryder would be furious. Ryder actually cared, where she had told herself Craven did not.

"Forget your friends not on your travels, but tell them not where you have been. Care for them yet do not show it, they'll find a weakness and break you from within." Again with the hypnotic wisdom- she needed to stop that.
