Title: The Piano
Description: Open to all
Emily Fall - June 25, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
Emily walked into the empty classroom. There was an old grand piano in the middle of the classroom. Emily walked over to it. She had been coming to this classroom most days. Emily got out her sheet music from her bag and put it on the stand, and started to sing and play the music.
I always needed time on my own
I never thought I'd need you there when I cry
And the days feel like years when I'm alone
And the bed where you lie is made up on your side
When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now
When you're gone
The pieces of my heart are missing you
When you're gone
The face I came to know is missing too
When you're gone
The words I need to hear to always get me through the day and make it ok
I miss you
I've never felt this way before
Everything that I do reminds me of you
And the clothes you left, they lie on the floor
And they smell just like you, I love the things that you do
When you walk away I count the steps that you take
Do you see how much I need you right now
We were made for each other
Out here forever
I know we were, yeah
All I ever wanted was for you to know
Everything I'd do, I'd give my heart and soul
I can hardly breathe I need to feel you here with me, yeah
Emily heard a sound of someone. Emily turned around to see someone standing behind her.

When You're Gone by Avril Lavigne
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 26, 2008 12:57 AM (GMT)
Fawne had been wandering down the corridors again, senses leading her were they wished whilst her mind dreamt away. Despite the fact she wasn’t paying attention to where she was going her footsteps were still as nimble as ever and she never once stumbled. It was as if she’d walked the path thousands of times before, which she probably had.
Just as she turned down a long corridor she heard the unmistakable sound of a piano playing at the other end, the murmur of someone singing accompanied it. A smile quickly spread to her lips and the dreams of before were lost as the memory of her own childhood piano lessons filled her mind. Without even thinking of the pianists’ privacy she virtually danced towards the sound, twirling occasionally with fluid movements.
Within moments she was at the door, though she had unfortunately missed the lyrics to the sound and its ending. Without pausing she slipped through the doorway and into the room, standing behind the girl who was playing. Just as Fawne stopped still the girl turned around and she recognised her as Emily, the one with the broken ankle. With a small smile Fawne waved in hello.
“You play wonderfully well Emily.”
Emily Fall - June 26, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
Emily was surprised to see Fawne. Emily didn't really sing in front of people that much. Emily smiled "Hey Fawne, I didn't see you there." Emily looked at the piano where her sheet music lay. Emily piked it up and put it back in her bag.
"Thanks, glad to here you like my music" Emily said smiling. "I have been playing since I was three. But I can play others things like the drums." Fawne looked happy. Emily was hummed to herself. Music was her life. If she didn't have music then Emily wondered how she would live without it.
Emily looked down at her broken ankle. It hadn't healed over the holidays quite yet and was still waiting for it to heal. "Thanks for the help with the ankle by the way."
Fawne Sugarmoon - June 26, 2008 08:53 PM (GMT)
"I am sure your music is delightful, you should play for an audience." Her voice was light and thoughtful as she spoke. She was obviously ignoring the fact Emily was shocked by her arrival, after all Fawne had always been good as causing shocks.
She followed Emily's gaze to her broken ankle, a small half smile on her lips. She didn't really know a great deal about Emily and people weren't general inclined to bare there soul to their healer, now hairdresser was another thing entirely.
"You are welcome although I am sorry I could not help further. I am sure a member of staff would be delighted to heal it fully now."
Emily Fall - July 3, 2008 10:45 AM (GMT)
Emily smiled. "That would be great. I haven't been having that much fun limping around everywhere" Emily joked about.
Emily smile turned into a frown. The song she had been playing was here her brother John who had passed away during the holidays. Emily was sad because she had just got on good terms with him again. She felt like they were family again.
Emily could remember the day like it just had happened a few seconds ago. John, Kate and Emily had gone to Hogsmeade for the week to see the sights. Emily, Kate and John were all getting along. Kate was excited about going to Hogwarts. John was excited about how he was going to get married. Emily was excited because she was getting along with her family. They were inside the hotel in their rooms. Emily and Kate had to share a room and John had his own. John came in and said "You two I'm going to go out for a while and get some fresh air." Kate said "Can I come, pleeeease Johny." "Kate leave him alone, and give him some time to himself. He's just going for a stupid little walk" Emily told Kate. John said goodbye and walked out of the room. The two girls sat in there rooms and talked about what Hogwarts was like. As soon as Emily said "It will be great" They heard a scream. It was a woman screaming "DEAD BODY!" Emily and Kate ran to there windows and looked down to the side walk were they saw there older brother laying dead on the cold stone ground.
From then on it was a blur to Emily. She remembered the funeral. The woman who was going to be John's wife crying, her name was Catrina or something that started with a C. Saying "Why did this happen. We were going to get married, have a family." Emily's mother crying and her father trying to help his wife. Kate who was playing games with her cousins. And Emily who sat there and watched her family be sad. How she heard them all whisper about how so much had happened to Emily and how bad a time was this to happen.
Emily looked up. She had been staring to space for a while and Fawne was still standing there. Emily forgot about Fawne for a few minutes there. "So how were your holidays?" Emily asked.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 7, 2008 12:59 AM (GMT)
Fawne smiled when Emily joked. She still felt bad about not being fully able to heal the wound, but she was a trainee and she hadn’t wanted to risk making it worse. Mostly she hadn’t wanted to disappoint Jer by failing… Fawne was drawn from her thoughts when Emily’s smile turned into a frown, becoming quite for several moments. She worried at first she offended Emily by not laughing at her joke, and Fawne was always trying to be kind. However she then realised how far away Emily seemed. And Fawne couldn’t help but be curious as to why.
Before she had chance to ask Fawne was thrown into another set of thoughts by Emily’s apparent recovery and quick question. She blinked languidly, sorting her thoughts and allowing her half smile to grow into a more vivid one. Her tone was light and musical as she spoke.
“My holiday was glorious and rather distracting, the tournament has been most time consuming. Although I rather believe I have enjoyed every second of it. May I ask about your holidays?..." it was clear Fawne had other question on her mind, but she choose not to pry. Emily would tell her if she wanted too.
Emily Fall - July 8, 2008 09:31 AM (GMT)
"That sounds cool. My holidays were kinda depressing. My brother died, which is quite sad. But my parents started to talk to me like I'm a normal human being" Emily said to Fawne. Emily also couldnm't really say she had vision's about most of the people at the school. It would sound creepy. But she did have vision. Lots of them. Mostly good ones also. "Also worked on some ballet. I wasn't dancing. Just helping my sister. But when my ankle is healed I will get back into it as soon a possible. I do alot of things to do with the arts. Drama, music, dance. You name it and I probably do it." Emily forced a smile. She could atleast pretend to be happy.
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 9, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
Fawne had always been overly serene but even her eyes widened when Emily spoke of her brother’s death. It was almost as if Emily washed over the event, not wanting to talk about it. But by nature Fawne was curious and she couldn’t help but pick up on those words more than the others. Nevertheless she didn’t get much chance to comment since Emily had moved onto to talk about the performing arts. She blinked for a moment, almost as if collecting her thoughts but these small pauses weren’t unusual when talking to Fawne.
“I am sorry for your loss Emily. My help is yours if you ever require it…” Her voice was softer than normal as she had spoke, she was being careful. However when she spoke again it was a lighter more normal tone than before. “It is wonderful you find solace in the arts. Perhaps when your ankle is better you could show me?”
Emily Fall - July 9, 2008 10:13 PM (GMT)
"Thanks. But it's alright. I've gotten used to death and such" Emily told Fawne. Emily washed it over. She didn't like talking about death that much. Who really would. "My brother and I weren't that close" Emily told Fawne. Emily stilled missed him. But she would have missed him more if they were closer.
"Maybe one day. Then you can show me some of that lovely dancing you were doing before you came in here" Emily said joking.
((OOC: sorry for shortness. My brain go dead blah!))
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 9, 2008 11:06 PM (GMT)
OOC: Psst its Fawne not Rebecca. Sorry about the shortness too. I was thinking if we get stuck for topics they could discuss Emily’s seer abilities, or Fawne’s blood traitor-ness?
IC:
Fawne just nodded lightly in reply, she didn’t often like to talk about her past for similar reasons. Dwelling in grief usually did little to help and often made it worse for those surrounding you. This view perhaps explained why Fawne never openly grieved for anyone; she just appeared as serene as humanly possible.
“Oh my dancing is not very orthodox but I would be delighted to show you. It would be glorious if you could teach me a little of the Muggle dances?” Fawne giggled but replied honestly anyway, she didn’t dance as such just moved. Her movements were just overly fluid. As for the word muggle, when she spoke it, it held no malice. In fact it seemed like just another word, after all with a well known status as a blood traitor why would she insult non magic folk.
Emily Fall - July 9, 2008 11:28 PM (GMT)
((OOC: Opps sorry. Like I said brain go dead. Blah! I changed the name. I wonder what different with wizard dancing and muggle dancing? Hmmmm. Lets try the traitor-ness))
IC:
Emily giggled. "Nice sentence. Sure one day I will teach you a muggle dance" Emily told Fawne (yusss got the name right). "Your last name is Sugarmoon right?" Emily asked. She swore she had heard her parents say that name before.
((OOC: YAY SHORTNESS!))
Fawne Sugarmoon - July 9, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
OOC: Dont worry about it =]
IC:
Fawne seemed slightly thrown by the question for a moment, it seemed a little off topic but obviously it meant something to Emily. With a mental sigh she readied herself for whatever reputation Emily was going to repeat. After all she was the last living Sugarmoon, well expect for a few cousins, and so most people pinned all the reputations on her.
“Fawne Lunette Sugarmoon, yes I rather believe it is.” Her tone was light, like she was trying to make a joke out of the subject. “I suppose you’ve heard of my family? Although I rather suppose I am a Blackwood now, technically at least.”
She wondered what Emily knew about the Sugarmoon’s, they were known for being slightly odd, her father more so than Fawne. They were also known for being a rich old line of purebloods, with a few odd traditions and some odd non human blood mixed in here and there, though no one had proved that yet. Fawne was personally known for being a blood traitor, she had betrayed ‘The family’ (much like the NDE) to save a prisoner, and the well kept fact of this traitorous act was the fact the prisoner was a vampire she dated for a while afterwards. Till he left. The Blackwood name however was the opposite, they held no questioning of blood purity, though they were not as old a pure family as the Sugarmoons, they were also a Death Eater supporter family; just like her mums Rosier name.
