Title: Pixies during after-hours
Description: Open
Etna Jeneall - June 26, 2008 10:34 PM (GMT)
Etna sat curled up in the library chair, a pile of books sitting on the table beside her, a thick book in her hands. It was late now, but Etna knew that the librarian didn't mind her being here because before she left she always put up the left out books, it was a habit. Etna knew only a few students were allowed in after hours, and she knew that the librarian wouldn't allow anyone who could, say, harm a very small girl who is quite helpless except she can bite the living daylights out of anyone. Of course not.
Etna allowed her mind to wander as she heard the last of the students leave, she tugged on a curl, and it bounced falling back into place. She closed her book gently, as if worried she would disturb the people who weren't there. She carefully put away the books and wandered to the pixie books. She had always been interested in pixies, even if people thought them destructive little things. The only problem, was that her mother had an issue with pixies, Etna didn't know WHY exactly, she doubted her mother had even MET a pixie, but she still didn't want to disobey her mother. Or at least, disobey when people were looking. Etna took the biggest book she could find on them, almost falling from pulling it down. Etna went back to her chair and curled up again, but something was wrong. Etna heard the door open, and then close again, and then she heard footsteps. "Who's there?" She asked, and although her voice sounded like a little girls, it still had some power in it.
Brendon Ferguson - June 28, 2008 03:01 AM (GMT)
Brendon opened the library door quietly and sneaked into the silent room, stepping lightly on the carpet. Then, he heard shuffling noises and, instinctively, hid behind a statue of armour.
"Who's there?" asked a high-pitched voice, though it had a little power in it.
Brendon decided to show himself. It wasn't like it was the librarian or the Hogwarts caretaker.
"Sorry, did I scare you?" he said, stepping out from his hiding place. "I just needed to get out a book. What are you doing here? It's really late.."
Etna Jeneall - June 29, 2008 06:35 PM (GMT)
Etna put the large book down silently and turned her attention back to the boy, "No, you didn't scare me. I was just curious who was there." Etna told him, her chocolate colored eyes still looking him over. The lights were dimmer because of the late hour, so Etna had difficulty in observing him.
"I like to read when no one else is in here. The librarian knows I'm in here and she doesn't mind." Etna told him, picking up someones book and then finding it's shelf she carefully put it away. "It isn't that late is it?" Etna asked, turning back to the boy.
Brendon Ferguson - July 3, 2008 12:03 PM (GMT)
OOC: Sorry it took such a long time. I forgot about this one..
He walked towards her.
"Maybe not.." he said, shrugging. "She doesn't mind? Really? That's a first. Don't tell anyone, but I'm here to get into the restricted section. To borrow some interesting books. I haven't been in there, and I thought I might have a look."
He examined her. She looked pompous and serious.
Etna Jeneall - July 3, 2008 12:25 PM (GMT)
Etna smiled thinking for a moment, and pulling from her robes, was a set of keys.
"She trusts me. But I'm only helping you this once." Etna said, already making her way to the door. "I've been in there plenty of times so I'll just stand by the door." Etna told him. She didn't care if he was following or not, but hopefully he was because Etna was not particularly patient.
Brendon Ferguson - July 4, 2008 02:05 PM (GMT)
He stayed where he was, stunned. He got to his sense when a click rang through his ears.
"Wait- Wait a minute." he said, unsurely. "What's the catch? You're not honestly just going to let me in, right?"
He looked at her, she looked completely serious.
What is wrong with this girl?, he thought.
Etna Jeneall - July 5, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
Etna smirked and rolled her eyes, "There is no catch, love. I'm just being nice." Etna told him, crossing her arms, "I could change that though, if it doesn't suit you." Etna shrugged, "But if you don't hurry up, the librarian could come in any second to check on me. It's not like I have anything better to do except put away books." Etna said, biting her lip thinking for a moment. "You could tell me what house and your name, at least. I'm Etna, Ravenclaw." Etna waited for him to tell her.
Brendon Ferguson - July 6, 2008 07:26 AM (GMT)
"Brendon Ferguson. Third year Ravenclaw." he said. "Well, if you're sure."
He walked towards her.
OOC: The librarian might want to show. Might make things more dramatic. If you were already planning for that to happen, good idea. :)
Etna Jeneall - July 12, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
OOC: Yea, I was thinking about it... but I wasn't sure. *shrug*
IC:
Etna thought for a moment, thinking on the last name, "Mmm, I met your brother a day or two ago. Calum isn't it?" Etna asked, unlocking the door and muttering to herself how stupid and annoying using keys where and how it would be sooo much easier if the lock wasn't magic and she could just pick it. She then realized she had said this outloud instead of in her head, and glanced at Brendon to see if he had heard her. She shrugged, not being able to tell, and pushed open the door. "Here it is."
OOC: Sorry it took so long!
Brendon Ferguson - July 13, 2008 04:17 AM (GMT)
OOC: No worries.
IC:
"Yes." he said.
Wow, Calum's met a lot of people.. he thought.
"A lot of people has quoted my last name and related it to my brother these days." he said. "Yeah, I guess. But wouldn't picking it take a lot longer?"
He walked into the entrance of the door, and gaped in awe.
Just then, footsteps reached their hearing.
OOC: Should I invite the librarian? (Whoever she is..) or should we just RP out what she is to do/say..?
Etna Jeneall - July 13, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
OOC: Well... we could pretend that Madam Pince is still here, buuuut whatever you want..
IC:
"Mmm, thats how it used to be with my older sister." Etna said and shrugged, "I suppose, but picking locks is more fun." Etna excused herself, and watched him gape. She had seen the restricted area before but...
Etna's head snapped in the direction of the noise.
"Oy that can't be good..." Her cockney accent coming out like normal.
"Etna love what are you doing?" Madam Pince asked as she bustled over to her.
"Um, someone had taken one of the books from the area and so... I needed to return it." Etna explained.
"Oh? Oh well where is the book?" Madam Pince asked suspiciously.
"The...book? I put it back." Etna lied.
"Hmm? Well shut the door then, we don't want any books to escape now do we?" Madam Pince joked as she peered into the restricted area. Etna held her breath, hoping Brendon had gotten out of site.
Brendon Ferguson - July 15, 2008 11:27 AM (GMT)
He swiftly slipped into the room when Etna whispered a warning and listened from the back of the door. He hardly breathed as Madam Pince peered into the room.
"Hmm? Well shut the door then, we don't want any books to escape now do we?" she joked.
He would have thought it was funny if he knew he wouldn't be stuck here in the Restricted Section for the rest of the night.
He widened his eyes in alarm and waved an alarmed sign through the small hole between the hinges of the door. He would just have to hope Etna had seen it and that his breathing level hadn't changed.
Etna Jeneall - July 30, 2008 06:41 AM (GMT)
Etna smiled at Madam Pince, making her innocent child-like face even more innocent. "Madam Pince, I was actually hoping to read some of the books in there. I'm sorry for lying before, but I didn't want you to tell me no..." Etna looked like she was guilty.
"Oh Etna darling! I wouldn't tell you know on that! You are always so careful, I don't even know why I come in here to check on you." Madam Pince told her, carefully ruffling Etna's curls.
Etna wanted to cringe and swat the womans hand away, but she kept her guilty but sweet and innocent face on. "Thank you Madam Pince, why don't you head on to bed then? You look tired."
"Oh do I really Etna? Well I suppose I should... don't you forget to lock that door Etna Jade Jeneall, or I won't let you have the keys any longer."
"Yes ma'mm." Etna watched the woman leave and watied for the door to close tightly. She breathed out as soon as it closed.
"Jeez!" She looked back into the restricted area, fixing the curls that had been moved around. "You alright then?" She asked, with her cockney accent, before realizing it.
Brendon Ferguson - August 6, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
He let out a relieved sigh.
"Thanks for getting me out of that one." he said, smiling. "But I think I'll go now.."
He sighed.
"That was too dangerous.." he said. "Nevertheless, fun, but still reckless."
He grinned.
"Usually, that's exactly what I do, but.." he said. "I don't think I will this time.."
He smiled.
"Thanks for all your help." he said. "Next time you need a favor, call on me. See you."
He left without another word.
