Title: One book, two book.
Description: Open

Adriaan Murphy - June 29, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
Three. Four. Five. Adriaan quietly ran his fingers over the spines of the books. The leather creaked under the pressure of his finger. His head was lifted and he stared down his nose with squinted eyes trying to read the titles. His already obnoxious stack sat at a table just around the case he was looking through. He lifted his hand from the books and sighed, the book was not there. He shook his head and drifted back to his stack of books, a few of them definitely not from the library. He slid a thick book from the top of the stack and pulled it open. His eyes slid down the list of long words and long fingers grasped his glasses from his robes and slid them on. Soon he began to fiddle a feather pen across a blank paper. Apparently, he was studying. An odd thing for him, and, well, a boring thing too. He paused and set down his pen, his body slid around in his chair trying to find a more comfortable spot. Unsuccessful in his attempt to comfort his rear he propped his head up in his hand, with elbow sitting on the table next to the book, and rubbed his eyes with the other. Studying just wasn’t his thing, sighing he reached for his pen again.

Adriaan had about a fourth of his paper filled with notes before his face gently slid from his hand and on to the book. His glasses lifted and slid up his forehead pushing his hair all askew. And his back heaved with heavy the breath of sleep.

Angela Jiminez - June 29, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
ooc: Hope you don't mind I'm a tad bit bored.

ic: Angela decided that she would rather dislike failing Potions this year. It was never her strong subject and she decided a little readon on it would help. She breezed by a few book shelves before coming to one that seemed to have a few books on the topic of potions. She eyed all the books carefully before seleccting one. 'This will do I guess.' She thought to herself. She started walked around looking for somewhere to sit. She noticed a couple stacks of books near one person. 'Is he asleep?' She wondered but couldn't tell. She smirked slightly and 'accidentally' pushed some of the books of his table.

"Oh I'm so sorry." she said rather loudly.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
The sound of books thudding to the floor startled Adriaan. His long arms flailed to his sides and knocked more books over as he sat up. His hair tufted wildly from beneath his glasses. There were red groves in his forehead from where the glasses had pressed in to his skin and his slender fingers rubbed them trying to rub away the soreness. His eyes lifted from his paper to the mess around him. He looked at his paper and the big black spot that had formed at the tip of his pen. He heaved a sigh and put the pen back in to his ink.

He blinked hard and looked at the girl next to him. “Oh, I’m sorry. Were you talking to me?” He said sliding his glasses down from his head and back in to place. The front of his hair still sat knotted where his glasses had been.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
Angela laughed slightly as she saw him wake up and drop even more books. "Oh no, actually I was just apologizing for making your books fall." Angela said. She looked at the center of his forehead where his glasses had been pressed and saw the mark it left. This made her laugh slightly again. "Um, I'm Angela by the way." She said introducing herself.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 02:56 AM (GMT)
Adriaan looked up at her as she spoke. His lips pressed together and he combed out the knot in his hair. "Well, Its nice to meet you." He said as he slid his glasses from his nose and put them away. "It's not late is it?" His chair skidded backwards across the floor and his hands drew up the books that were sprawled on the table. Crumpling his paper of notes under them. He stood pushing the chair, which tipped on to its back legs and then fell over. He rubbed his face with his hands trying to wake himself up all the way. He was far too clumsy without the haze of sleepiness; with it he just seemed ridiculous.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 03:00 AM (GMT)
Anela laughed again as she watching tip the chair over. His clumsiness amused her a lot. 'This is rather funny.' She admitted to herself. "It's not that late." She said as her laughter died down. "Just alittle past 8 maybe." She added. "What's your name?" She asked wondering who he was.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 03:13 AM (GMT)
Adriaan nodded when she spoke, as he leaned to pick up the chair. Her laughs didn't bother him, he would probably laugh at someone like him too. He smiled as he stood, and bumped the table making his newly stacked pile slide back over the table. He scratched the back of his head and chose to ignore the pile, maybe he'd be more capable of not destroying the library if he stopped trying to pick up for a minute. "I'm Adriaan." his hands set on his hips. "You don't look much like the studying type." He spoke without thinking, he didn't have any intentions of offending her.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 03:23 AM (GMT)
Angela glared at him when he made his comment but then smiled and let out a small chuckle. "Yea I'm not, but I'm really horrible at potions so I decided I should do something about it." She shrugged with a heft sigh.

Angela noticed a few books by her and she picked a couple up putting them back on the table. "What's with all of these books? You're reading a lot of them." Angela said just noticing that there was way too much to read in a day.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 03:33 AM (GMT)
"Thank you." He said when she picked up some of the books. He gently gathered the books from across the table again. "Some of them are for reading, it's kind of a habit. Most of them were for studying. Unfortunately i'm not crazy about studying." He lifted some books on to the top of a second pile and uncovered his paper. He laughed at his attempt at taking notes. "This is usually what happens when I try." he said smoothing the wrinkles from the paper and trying to fold it. His long fingers seemingly just a little too bulky for the job. "Potions huh? I'm not that great at that either." He looked down at her, not noticing until now how much taller he was than her.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
"Heh..yea I really suck at it. I don't know I guess I jst am too lazy to add all the ingredients or something." She shrugged her shoulders and looked up at him. "How old are you?" she asked as she too realized how much taller he was. "Damn I'm like a midget ." She joked.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
"I was going to say that too." He said smiling goofily, He slipped his horribly folded paper in to his pocket. "Hopefully i'm older than you," He said poking fun at her height. His tone wasn't that of a jerk. He really seemed more like a big dope that just didn't realize the things he was saying might offend her. "I'm sixteen. And you?"

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 03:47 AM (GMT)
Angela raised an eyebrow at him. "Ha..ha..very funny." Angela said and then ended up smiling. "I'm 14. What house are you in I'm in slytherin." She said. "And watch keep making fun of me watch what happens." she joked smiling widely at him.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 04:00 AM (GMT)
"I'm sorry" he laughed through his apology at her threat. "Pft, I'm not afraid of any Slytherin." he said rolling his eyes and exaggerating it so that she would know he was joking. "I'm a Hufflepuff, nothing grand about us. We're notorious for being gentle and loyal. Big whoop. You better watch out, I might just follow you where ever I go in hopes of getting a friend." He said making an odd face at himself, realizing, this time, that what he said was odd.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 04:05 AM (GMT)
Angela couldn't help but laugh again. "You know you're really funny, and weird, and different." She said smiling. "And seeing as how I'm pretty much friendless maybe I wouldn't mind you following me around wherever I go." Angela looked up and him and raised an eyebrow. "And you should so be afraid, you have no idea what I can do to you." She said jokingly as she crossed her arms and eyed him up and down playfully.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
"Pfft, be afraid of a Four-teen year old?" He said turning to the stack of books and picking one of them up. He heaved them off the table and walked around a shelf. "What would make you think I would ever be afraid of a fourth year?" He said, just assuming that her age matched her year. He balanced the books between a hand and a knee as he lifted the top book back to its shelf. A pinched-nose little girl came bustling around the corner, apparently on a mission and finally caught sight of what she was after. She stopped next to Adriaan and scoffed "The library is not a hang out. Be quiet, I can't concentrate with your annoying voices trailing through the bookshelves." She said and humphed as she trailed away. Adriaan shoved another book in its place and took the last book back to his table. “Filthy little mud-blood.” He said under his breath. As he sat the book on the table.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 04:45 AM (GMT)
"Ok..looky here mister." Angela said walking up towards him and poking him in the chest. "First off I can kick your butt any day no matter my age. And second of all it's not like you're that much older than me." She said smiling at him.

Angela glared at the girl as she told them to pretty much shut up. She was just about to open her mouth and mutter something when she heard Adriaan beat her too it. Surprised, she looked over at him. "You took the words right out my mouth." Angela said shaking her head alittle.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 04:53 AM (GMT)
Adriaan blushed a little when she acknowledge what he had said. It had just kind of slipped out, not something he liked to say. But who knows, he could just give in to his hatred one day and accept it. "Okay, so I might not be much older than you. But, do you really think you could take on someone as tall as me?" He said giving her a play-smug look.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 04:58 AM (GMT)
Angela smirked alittle. "Oh please I have the advantage. I must be faster than you could cut around corners easily. I wouldn't even need to use magic to get you." Angela said as she playfuly punched him in the arm. "Hello david and goliath." She smiled.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 05:06 AM (GMT)
He laughed and quieted down by pressing his lips together. "Why do I have to be Goliath? If I stand on my knees I might me shorter than you... then I would be a perfect David." He sighed at the stack of books left on the table. Maybe he would just leave them there and let that mud-blood come through and be offended by his mess. "Besides, the underdog always wins when it comes to fights, and judging by my... lack of coordination I'm certainly the underdog."

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 05:12 AM (GMT)
"Because your massive. What are you 5'11 or something?" She said answering him as to why he was Goliath. "This isn't some happpily ever after story, I would so whip you butt. " Angela said laughing. "And maybe since you're soo clumsy I would feel bad and just maybe I would let you win." Angela said laughing. "Then again maybe I would enjoy whipping your butt." she smirked

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 05:22 AM (GMT)
"Oh, ow, that hurt." he said clutching at his heart. "You wouldn't have pitty on my sorry-excuse-for-a-man-self?" He rocked back on to the table making the remaining pile of books slide across it. He groaned and rolled his eyes. "See? How could you have no pitty?" he smirked at her, still holding his heart, and settled in to a lean against the edge of the table.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 05:29 AM (GMT)
Angela smiled at him. "So clumsy." She said as he smile turned into a smirk. "I don't take pity or mercy on anyone. But..I guess I'll make an exception for you." Angela shrugged. She sighed a little and thought about how he looked before after he called the girl a mudblood.

"Did it bother you calling her that? The girl that is?" She asked inching a little closer to him and then leaning on the table next to him.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 05:40 AM (GMT)
He looked to his side at Angela. "What's it to you?" He asked raising a brow and moving his eyes to the ground. He stared intently at it, as if it would change to conversation. "And what does it matter anyway, Shorty?" He said in hopes of maybe getting the conversation back to the jokes.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 05:43 AM (GMT)
Angela crossed her arms as she rolled her eyes at him and sighed. 'Bad attempt at changing the topinc but..' She thought to herself. "Just wondering." she mumbled. "Don't call me short you big giant." She smiled at him. She grabbed the chair and stood on top of it. "Ha now I can look down on you."

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 05:52 AM (GMT)
"Yeah? And now I win the fight according to you." He said laughing and pushing himself off the table. He looked at her for a second and then reached up and poked her in the side. "So what does my all powerful short one do in her spare time, other than wake poor saps up when they fall asleep in the library?"

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Angela smiled. "Well besides pick on giant guys from hufflepuff.." She said smirking. "I normally just roam around normally in the dungeons or in the forbidden forrest." She shrugged. "And if I'm in a mood I like to mess with the first years." She added. Angela was about to step down from the chair and tripped falling to the floor. "Wow...looks like I'm the clumsy one now."

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 06:11 AM (GMT)
"Oh.. wow. are you okay?" He said bending down and holding out his hand. "Guess I don't have much to worry about when it comes to you. You may have speed, but at least we're both clumsy." he said smiling. "Why do you torment little kids? They already have such complexes as it is. Though... I could see them as very easy targets." he said with a little smirk.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 06:14 AM (GMT)
Angela gabbed his hand and propped herself up. "Oh psh it was one clumsy incident." Angela said crossing her arms again. "And they annoy me when I'm already annoyed, their asking for it." Angela said very seriously and then she giggled alittle bit. "Now..are you going to answer the question I asked before?" She asked referring about the mudblood girl.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 06:25 AM (GMT)
He laughed lightly. "I guess I will." He said settling back on the edge of the table. He pressed the tips of his fingers together. "Well, I guess you could say," he paused and tried to think of a way to word his reason "Not that i'm ashamed of being pure blood, or anything. But I like to be open minded about people, though.. I really do dislike mud-bloods, there is a part of me that thinks it's wrong to hate someone for something they can't help." He scratched his head "It's kind of confusing." he laughed, a light nervous laugh.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 06:34 AM (GMT)
Angela nodded a little bit. "I get what you're saying." Angela said as she follwed him and leaned beside him. "I guess I sort of kind of feel the same way." She shrugged. "It's hard when that's how you're raised and that's all you know." Angela shook her head alittle bit. She understood. Her uncle had raised in believing that anyone who wasn't a pure blood was disgusting, and better off dead.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 06:40 AM (GMT)
He raised his brow at her response. Of course it was quite surprising to him. But it was a plesant one. He pulled his hand through his hair combing through the knots that had gathered from his day of doing, nothing really. "Well, i'm glad i'm not alone." He shook his head, agreeing with himself. "Had you been any older I don't think I would have told you." He said laughing, "So it's a good thing you're -only- fourteen."

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 06:46 AM (GMT)
Angela glared at him and put her hands on her hips. "Excuse you I'm turning 15 in a few months." She said. "And it's not like I'm 11.." she added. "Not all of us could be 16 pushing 50." Angela said. She looked on the table and found a blank sheet of paper. She crumpled it up and tossed it at his face. "Old timer.." she mumbled.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 07:02 AM (GMT)
"Hey, careful now, you might break a bone." He smiled and pushed off the table. "You young'uns and your lack of respect." He shook his head. "When I was your age I had to walk to class up hill in blizzards." he said rubbing his back.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 07:08 AM (GMT)
Angela rolled her eyes in a playful way. "You're so dumb." she said with a small giggle. Angela tossed the paper ball at him again. "Woops it slipped." She said smirking at him.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 07:22 AM (GMT)
"Oh, my hip." He smirked and yawned, stretching his long arms as far up as he could. It was one of those nice stretches that wakes up you joints and muslces. His shirt came up just a tad, and his arms fell back to his sides, pulling his shirt back down. "Sorry, couldn't help it. These old bones needed some waking up."

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 07:28 AM (GMT)
Angela inched a little closer to him. "Well that's because you're ancient." She smirked slightly. "So wat does an old man like you do around here for fun?" Angela asked raising an eyebrow.

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 07:38 AM (GMT)
Adriaan shrugged "Sleep, read, avoid people. Don't really have a lot of friends. There are so many.. muggle-mixed people around that I tend to leave before really talking to anyone." He laughed lightly "I guess you're a little different, huh?" He made a face at her and ran his hand through his hair again. "Thinking about cutting all of this off. You're a girl.. right?" He said, talking about his hair, he smirked. "What do you think?"

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
Angela looked up at his face. "Yea I am different because I'm the best." She plafully rolled her eyes as she joked. "I think you look hot with your hair like that." Angela said with out thinking. "I mean you know...you have the face for it."

Adriaan Murphy - June 30, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
"Hot huh?" He laughed, more at himself than at Angela, "Never gotten that one before, But, I guess it's a good thing to 'have the face for it.' You have the face for your hair too." he said sticking his tongue out at her. "Geeze, look how much of my time you've take up." He said rolling his eyes.

Angela Jiminez - June 30, 2008 06:30 PM (GMT)
Angela made a face at him. "Oh..ok so maybe I should let you get back to that nap you were having." She said smirking. "Or did you want to go hangout with all the friends you don't have here." Angela said crossing her arms again still smirking.
