Title: Wandering around the halls, Lost
Description: Open
Ashton Thomas - June 30, 2008 07:43 PM (GMT)
Ashton found himself wandering around the school deciding to look around the place. He walked around for a little bit over an hour and finally concluded he had gotten himself lost. "Ugh.." he grunted outloud. He gave up and slid down the wall and sat on the floor. Maybe someone would walk by and help him.
April Teagan - June 30, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
April hopped down the last few steps of a trick staircase, behinda hidden tapestry, and emerged easily into an open corridor. She jogged lightly dow nthis one, on her way outside, and turned onto another one. She was deep inside the castle, but she liked going this way so she wouldn't see anyone. However, she could see that there was a boy at the end of the hallway.
April slowed her walk and looked at him curiously. He was sitting against the wall and seemed lost and confused. April had never seen him around before, so she figured that he must really be indeed lost. She stopped at his feet and he looked up.
"Are you... alright?" she asked him, cocking her head gently to the side.
Ashton Thomas - June 30, 2008 08:15 PM (GMT)
Ashton sighed loudly and buried is head into his hands. 'Ugh I give up noone is ever going to come down here.' He thought as he let another sigh escape his mouth,
"Are you... alright?"
He heard someone ask. He looked up and saw a girl. "Ah yes I'm fine, except I'm lost." He said still sitting. "I've been wandering for awhile and then realized I have no idea how to get back." He said laughing at himself slightly.
April Teagan - June 30, 2008 08:19 PM (GMT)
April straightened up, looking at the boy curiously as he spoke. He said he was lost, which would explain why he was alone in a corridor, and also why she had never seen him before. He must be new, or else he wouldn't be lost. Then again, he was much too old to be a first year, so he obviously had just arrived. A transfer student, perhaps. April smiled gently and helpfully.
"Well, here I am. April to the rescue!" she said dramatically, laughing. "I'm April Teagan, Slytherin house. Who are you? You must be new," she stated.
Ashton Thomas - June 30, 2008 08:25 PM (GMT)
Ashton lauged alittle at the girls enthusiatic way of talking. "I'm Ashton." He said as he picked himself off from the ground. "I'm in hufflepuff house, and yea I'm new just started yesterday." He said to her scratching the back of his head.
April Teagan - June 30, 2008 09:03 PM (GMT)
April nodded, guessing as much that he was new. She liked the name Ashton for some reason, and she felt like it fit him pretty well. He was average height for his age,she guessed, which looked around 15. He wasn't too much taller than her though, who stood at about 5'4" now. She shrugged.
"Hufflepuff? Interesting. You must be in 4th or 5th year, correct me if I'm wrong. I'm a 6th year," she clarified. "About to turn 17."
He had stood up, probably happy that someone had come along to lead him back to where he could find his way around. April stil ldidn't know where the Hufflepuff dorms were, so she couldn't help him there.
"You should probably learn your way around before you explore too much," she replied, flipping her hair behind her shoulder.
Ashton Thomas - June 30, 2008 09:22 PM (GMT)
"Yea you're right I'm a 4th year. I'm 15." He said combing a hand through his hair. "I'll take that into consideration next time I'm wandering on my own." He said smiling. "Well how about you walk me around here show me ho to get back?" He asked smiling at her warmly.
April Teagan - June 30, 2008 10:22 PM (GMT)
April laughed at him as he put his hand through his hair, definately confused, but still in good spirits. April nodded; her guess had been correct, which was always a good thing. April hated being wrong, even if no one knew she was wrong. She smiled back him, since he was smiling very warmly at her.
"Fair enough. I suppose I'll show you the way out," she replied, winking at him. She began to walk down the hallway, leading the way she knew to be the correct path to the Great Hall.
"So, while we walk, tell me about yourself. Where did you go to school before this?"
Ashton Thomas - June 30, 2008 10:42 PM (GMT)
Ashton lookd over at her. "Well i actually went to a mugle school." He said. "My mom didn't want me only relying on magic to get ahead in life or something." He said rolling his eyes. "But I was supposed to come next year here not this year." Ashton added he soon wished he didnt. 'Stupid..' He thought. "I sorta got expelled.." he mumbled scractching the back of his head.
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 12:07 AM (GMT)
April looked at him, astonished. She couldn't comprehend why his mother would make him go to a Muggle school when he should have been learning magic... Obviously, his mother or father was a Muggle, because if they were both pure, they wouldn't have a problem at all with using only magic. April shook her head, not understanding how anyone would do that to thier child.
"Muggle school?! That's... stupid," she muttered, still shaking her head. A thought occured to her. She smirked. "How did you get expelled, anyways?"
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 12:40 AM (GMT)
Ashton shrugged. "My father didn't like the idea but my mother always gets her way." He sighed. 'Darn I knew she would ask...' he thought when she asked how he got expelled. "There was this boy in my school." He started. "His family were all wizards but he had no magic himself and so he went to school with me." He added. "I don't know I guess he thought he was being a smartass but he called my mother a mudblood and it really upset me." Ashton explained. "I've never been known to act on anger but that day I did."
Ashton turned his face to show her his right eye. "I broke his nose, and deafened him in an ear and he managed to stab my eye." He added as he pointed to the eyepatch covering his eye. He didn't really get why he decided to explain to her wat happened, he could have lied. "I'm actually ashamed of my actions, but I stand behind them sort of." He mumbled. "He was talking about my mother."
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
April looked up, her eyes now stopping on the eye patch. Of course sheh had noticed it, how could one not, but she had tired to not pay attention to it. She knew a boy who had a fake arm, after all. What she couldn't understand was why he was injured in his eye. Most wizards could heal almost anything mgaically, no matter what it was.
"Well, I don't blame you for what you did, after all, it was your mother. I'm sure I would have reacted the same way... well, maybe not for my mother. But still, nonetheless, I don't see you any lower because of it."
"I am wondering, though... why didn't your mother and father, or even the hospital, use magic to fix your eye? Surely something could have been done to prevent you from losing its' use completely."
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
"Well my mother calls it my punishment." He shrugged. "I didn't..I couldn't tell her why i got into the fight. I just told her it was magic related and she wouldn't understand." He sighed. "It would have crushed her..she used to get teased a lot like that." He traailed off.
"So she just thinks I got into a useless fight and I should suffer the consequences of my actions. My dad tried to explain to her it would be easier to actually have both my eyes." He smiled a little. "But again, my mom always gets her way."
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 02:10 PM (GMT)
April stood there, a bit stunned, and forgetting that she was supposed to be showing Ashton the way back to the normal castle hallways. A bit perplexed, she twirled a strand of her hair in her fingers and looked at Ashton, confused. She couldn't comprehend why any mother would allow her son to continue his whole life without an eye. Getting expelled from a Muggle school wasn't too big of a life-changing event.
"I think your mother is a bit ridiculous, to be blunt. I guess you should have some sort of consequence for what you did, but I don't think that losing your eye was really fair. Did he lose his eye? If not, it's not really an eye for an eye type of situation here," April replied, looking smug at her idea.
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
"Yes well I didn't plan on taking his out." Ashton said and then smiled. "I don't really know understand why my mother thinks the way she does." Ashton shruged. "It's not that difficult to live with." She said smiling at her.
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
April shoved his shoulder playfully and laughed.
"You don't have to be all brave," she said, frowning. "Obviously not being able to see out of one eye is difficult to live with. I couldn't imagine..." she trailed off.
"Anyways," April started, "are you behind learning magic, or did you get taught at home?"
April felt that if Ashton had spent the first three years of his magical education learning in a Muggle school, he may be terribly behind. This is when April felt great about being a Pureblood, because she had been pretty far ahead of everyone in her classes when she began. Being home-schooled had helped even further, since her mother taught her quickly, and she was ahead of most students in her year.
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
Ashton rubbed his shoulder. "Ow.." He joked as he smiled widely at her. "Well my dad taught me a few things. Definitely enough to help me at least pass class." Ashtone shrugged again. "I'm sure he taught me enough to defend myself againt big bad slytherins like yourself." He joked at her.
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
April shook her head, half serious and half joking. Being a dueling champ like herself, she doubted Ashton could protect himself from her. But, either way, she tended to not attack people unless when it was totally and completely necessary. She could probably scare him, though.
"Wanna bet? I can be pretty nasty when I'd like to be," she said, a glint in her eye. "Wanna try me?"
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
Ashton laughed slightly. "I'm not exactly sure if I ever want to get you upset." He said but inched closer to her. "I'm sure you can be pretty nasty." He smiled at her.
April Teagan - July 1, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
"Good, you don't want to make me angrym" she warned, laughing. It was true though. In a bad mood, she tended to have little tantrums.
"I can be," she assured him, referring to him calling her nasty. "I'm quite good with a wand, I'll tel you that."
She kept walking now, looking back at him and winking and then continuing to skip along the hallway.
Ashton Thomas - July 1, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
"I'm quite good with a wand, I'll tel you that."
Ashton's eyebrow raised and his eye widened. Then shook his head. Sometimes he thought like a dirty boy and he hated it. He sighed and looked up noticin her skipping away and a wink. He smiled at her and followed.
"Well the last thing I want to do is make you angry." He said still smiling at her.
April Teagan - July 2, 2008 12:54 AM (GMT)
"Clearly," she said, smiling widely at him. By the look on his face, he had taken what she had said in a dirty way, which had been the intention anyways.
"So, you're a ...Halfblood, yes?" she asked, not really caring either way. She tended to have all sorts of friends from different blood around here, and it never got back to her parents either way. She smiled, knowing she had changed quite a bit since coming to Hogwarts.
Ashton Thomas - July 2, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
Ashton, still thinking about the comment she made, was smiling at her. "Ah yes I am a half blood," Ashon said proud that he was half muggle. He didn't care if some thought it was dirty. "I hope that doesn't matter." He said looking over at her.
April Teagan - July 2, 2008 03:02 PM (GMT)
April looked at him as he spoke, and he had the air of someone who was proud of thier blood, no matter what it was. Typically, it was Purebloods who felt this way, but often Muggleborns got very defensive of thier blood type, especially when Purebloods mocked them or something. April smirked.
"Matter? Not at all. I have loads of friends who are even Muggleborns. I'm Pureblood myself, but that doesn't affect the friends I have," she assured him. This was a new way of thinking she had established after she came to Hogwarts. Before she had arrived, all of ehr friends and aquantinces were Pureblood.
"So, what's it like," April asked, turning a corner, "living in both worlds, so to speak?"
Ashton Thomas - July 3, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
Ashton smirked at her. "Ah good beause I would hate for something as silly as that to come between me and my new beautiful aqauintance." He said winking at her. He was such an awful flirt, but he really didn't care. He always wound up flirting with any girl he met no matter if they were older than him or not.
"Well obviously it's completely different." Ashton said wiping the small smirk off his face and it turned into a smile. "It actually has more useless drama in my opinion, without the magical benefit of course." He sighed.
April Teagan - July 5, 2008 02:50 AM (GMT)
April smiled at him, thankfully, especially at his compliment. She hadn't been called beautiful in quite a long time, even if he was flirting with her, and it was quite a delight.
"Well, thank you then," she replied, blushing. She hated her cheeks; they always became red at the most awkward of times, but never when she was shamelessly flirting. It was very odd indeed.
"Drama? How so?" she asked, cocking her head to the side. She was very curious to hear about his home life, especially with two different cultures, so to speak, blending in. She had never, and would never, expierence such a thing.
Ashton Thomas - July 6, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
"You're a lovely shade of red." He joked at her poking fun at her cheeks. "Ah but it's true you are very beautiful." He couldn't help but smile at her. He thought for a minute at what exactly happens in a muggle high school. "Well there are fist fights about stupid things." He mentioned then thought again. "Relationship drama." He shrugged. "Just dumb over the top teenager stuff."
April Teagan - July 6, 2008 02:57 AM (GMT)
April chuckled, imagining two Muggle boys throwing fists over a girl such as herself. She could totally see it happening. Even at Hogwarts there were such scuffles, but limbs were never involved in such a manner. They had much more efficient ways of solving issues; magic was a much greater pain causer, in April's opinion.
"Well, no Muggle fighting here. But, you do get your share of wizard duels. I've cursed up a Gryffindor pretty bad one time..." April said, shrugging.
"But I think that's all teenager stuff, rather than typical of Muggles, although they are a bit more... barbaric about it, I must admit."
Ashton Thomas - July 6, 2008 03:04 AM (GMT)
Ashton agreed, nodding his head a few times. Ashton eyed April a few times. She was rather pretty. He couldn't help but notice. "Why would you ever do a thing like that." He joked referring to her cursing gryffindors. He tried to not stare at her, he didn't want to make her feel weird.
April Teagan - July 6, 2008 03:13 PM (GMT)
"Well, it may be hard to notice, but I have quite the temper," she said confidently, proudly displaying herself. She noticed, out of the corner of her eye, that Ashton was looking at her. It happened often times, and she was used to it, and she did like the attention. She was like any other girl, of course.
"Often times, I tend to be quite the show off. And as I told you, I'm quite the dueler..." she said, trailing off and thinking about her comment about being good with wands. He was definately noticing her after that.
Ashton Thomas - July 6, 2008 03:50 PM (GMT)
Ashton smiled at her and casually inched a little closer to her, tryin to be inconspicuous. He nodded at what she was saying. "Well I promise not to do anything at all to get your temper going," He said smirking at her. Then again he wondered if she was even more attractive when she was upset. Many girls were. He shook his head from any of those thoughts.
"I wouldn't mind watching you duel though." He said looking at her. "As long as it's not towards me,"
April Teagan - July 6, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
April nodded confidently, smiling still at him. They had been pretty deep inside the castle, so they still weren't out yet. Ashton probably thought that she was leading him to his demise or something of the sort. She shook her head and chuckled to no one in particular, then looked back at him, serious once again.
"There's going to be a dueling club, I think," she said to him. "You could watch me then. Or if you'd prefer, I could attack a student at random... if we ever find someone," she joked. She suddenly realized that the two students hadn't seen anyone else yet.
Ashton Thomas - July 7, 2008 05:42 AM (GMT)
"Well I'd rather you not attack the onlt student that might actually be in the corridor." Ashton said with fake frown. "But I would definitey love to see you duel." He added now smiling. "I bet you look amazing when you do."
April Teagan - July 7, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
"Good point... we haven't seen civilization in ages. You really got yourself lost, didn't you?" she asked him, smirking. "As for the last bit, I'm sure I do look amazing, but I tend to watch my opponent and not myself... I find it sort of, impossible."
April had decided already that Ashton was now making her full of herself, and a little bit too concieted for her own good. She tended to naturally be this way, she was much the bragger, but tried to stay away from it. Slytherin traits such as these were not good social aspects, but it seemed to please Ashton, if only a little bit.
Ashton Thomas - July 10, 2008 02:55 AM (GMT)
"Well how about we make a deal. You duel and I'll watch you enough for the both of us." He said smiling at her.
April Teagan - July 10, 2008 02:44 PM (GMT)
"Now that sounds like a good plan to me," April said, smiling at him.
"So tell me, doyou play sports any? Muggles have some very odd sports, but it seems a lot of wizards can get pretty into them..."
Ashton Thomas - July 10, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
Ashton smiled. "Well I used to play soccer. And I was on a muggle team." He shrugged. "That's about it really. How bout you? You play qudditch or something?" He asked her curiously.
April Teagan - July 10, 2008 06:57 PM (GMT)
"Soccer huh? That's the one where you kick the ball... yes, very interesting," she said, cocking her head to the side. She never really understood the excitement about the game, since she really didn't understand it. She shook her head, ready to address his question.
"Me? Yes, I'm the Slytherin Seeker. I've played my whole life," she said smugly, a glint in her eye. "Do you play at all?"
Ashton Thomas - July 10, 2008 07:04 PM (GMT)
He laughed somewhat."Yes it's one where you kick the ball." He said smiling at her.
Ashton shook his head. "Ah no I must admit I'm not too good at flying." He said admittingly.
April Teagan - July 14, 2008 07:41 PM (GMT)
"Well, not all of us can be quidditch stars," she said, a tone of remorse in her voice. She wished that quidditch would begin soon, since she was almost positive that the Slytherin team was complete now, having finally found a keeper.
"Do you miss the Muggle world much, now that you're here?"
OOC: Sorry that took forever.
