Angela decided a walk was just what she needed. After dinner she headed outside and found herself next to the lake. She down and looked up. the sun was setting and it was getting darker. She really didnt care she liked the night anyway. She smiled and gazed out at the water. She took a rock and tried to make it bounce along the water but fail. She threw it and all you heard was a dunk from the rock falling into the water.

John had been out wandering around the lake avoiding doing his homework that he should be working on, when he heard the thunk of a rock hitting the water. He looked around for the where the rock could have come from and saw a girl standing by the edge of the lake. "Are you trying to skip rocks?" he asked, not meaning to sound rude, he was just curious.

Angela looked over and saw a boy. "Yea trying is definitely the word for it." Angela mumbled. She tried again and failed once more. "Do you know how?"

"Yeah." He said bending down and finding a rock and threw it. It wasn't the best skip, it only went three times, but it was something. "Do you want me to try to teach you how?" he offered. "I'm John by the way." He said

Angela smiled. "I'm Angela." she said introducing herself. For some odd reason she was calm tonight. No annoying remark, no smirking or bad moods. "Actually yea, I would like it if you did." and actually some manners.

John picked up another rock and showed her how to hold it flat side down and with your index finger curling around one edge."You got to aim it low and throw it sideways, and flick your wrist." he instructed, skiping the rock and picked up another one for her. "Here, you try it."

Angela watching his demonstration, she eyed how his hand held the rock. She took the rock he gave her. She attempted to hold it the way he did and turned her wrist and flicked it. It seemed like it may have skipped once but again she heard it clunk into the water. She sighed quietly more to ehrself. "How old are you?" She asked him curiously.

"Seventeen." He answered,"What about you?" He asked, picking up another rock for her.. This one was totally flat and would hopefully do better then the last, her and placed it in her hand, bending her fingers to hold it right. "Just keep holding it just like that, and throw it."

"Um...14. Turning 15 soon though." She said feeling the need to add how she was turning fifteen soon. She took a deep breath and tried to skip the rock again. This tim it actually skimmed the water two or three times. "Oh wow I did it.." She said a little too overly excited for just kipping a rock. "Um..what house are you in?"

"Yeah, good job." He said with a smile when she made the rock skip a few times. He remembered sitting at a pond when he was younger and the excitement that came with skipping a stone for the first time. "I'm in Huffelpuff. Same question for you."

Angela manuvered her self and sat indian style now. She looked up at him. "What is it with me meeting so many people from Hufflepuff." she sighed shaking her head. "I'm in slytherin."

"I really don't know, I don't see a lot of them and I'm in the same house. I could ask you why I've been running into so many Slytherins. I think I have met more this week than I ever have." He said with a laugh

Angela smiled. "Well who wouldn't want to run into us slytherins?" She said jokingly. "Well actually same here though, I barely run in to people from my own house, but everyone from yours seems to find me." She said with a soft smiled. She looked up and the sun was almost completely set.

"It's kind of weird how that happens isn't it? I think there is only like two or three people I see from my house on a regular basis outside of class." He said picking up a few more rocks and skipping them across the watter,. He offered her one. "Want to try it again?"

"Yea same here." Angela said. She looked at the rock he was offering and smiled. "Sure." she said she tried to hold it the way he told her but it clunked in the water again. She laughed. "Ehh I suck." she joked looking up at him. "So tell me about yourself." Angela suggested.

"Don't worry, You'll get better at it. You just need a little more practice." He said when her rock plunked back into the lake. "I'm afraid I'm not all that interesting, so I don't really know what to day. What do you want to know about me?" He asked

"Oh please I'm sure you're plenty interesting." Angela said playfully rolling her eyes. "What do you do for fun? What are you doing out here now?" She asked smirking alittle bit. She wondered if he was a pure blood but she didn't want to come right out and ask.

"I am here, because I find the lake a more relaxing place than the castle. What I do for fun...Read, hang out with friends, play sports, that kind of stuff. See, I'm not very interesting, I'm actually kind of boring. What things do you like to do?" he asked her.

"h you're not boring." Angela said smiling at him. "Well when I'm not out being the evil slytherin I am.." She began only halfly joking. "I'm normally alone. I just like to wander around. I normally take walks at night in the forbidden forrest. Which is not really scary at all." Angela said shrugging. "I'm more boring than you are." Angela eyed him carefully. "Um..so what are you pure bloo, half or muggleborn?" she worked up the coarage to ask.

"Oh you really are more boring than I am" He teased. "I'm Muggle born. What about you?" he asked really hoping she wasn't going to be one of those people who would basically shun him for it, it had happened a few times and he hated it.

Angela laughed at his teasing remark. 'Darn you ...keep sending me muggle borns..' she thought to herself staring at the sky about to curse them out. "I'm pure blood." She said rather proudly. "Do you get a lot of crap around here for being muggle born?" She asked. She realized using the word muggle born was getting harder for her to use, she was so used to using mud blood to call these people. But she bit her tongue and was trying not to be rude.

"A little bit, but I really try to not let it bother me" He said not sure if her oppinion of him had changed. "It really only bothers me when violence the starts" He said a little more coldly than he had meant to.

Angela looked at him a little sympathetically. Angela moved her arm and placed a hand on John's shoulder once she heard the slight coldness in his voice. "I'm sorry." Angela said. She couldn't help but feel guilty. That's how she used to be up until really recently. She was trying to not hate people based on their blood.

"It's fine, it's just one of those things that I just don't understand." He said with a sigh, calming himself down again, some things would always hurt but there was no use getting angry about it. "So other than trying to skip rocks, what else are you doing out here?" he asked her.

Angela moved her hand and used it to lean on the grass. "Eh I just didn't want to be around people tonight." She shrugged. "I mean like just you is fine, but I don't know I wasn't in the mood to be near a lot of people." Angela sighed. "I haven't been feeling like myself lately." She mumbled laying back in the grass.

"Yeah? Anything you want to talk about?" He asked, he really didn't know her very well but sometimes it made things easier to talk about if the person listening didn't really know you. He knew what it was like to not feel like yourself, the last few weeks he had been in a bit down, which was really odd for him.

Angela looked up at him. He seemed nice enough and why not talk to someone. "Well I mean I guess it's a good thing not feeling like myself lately." She began. "I'm normally a horrid person. Hate's muggle borns and what not." Angela said looking up t his face to make sure he wasnt getting upset. "And well I'm not thinking like that anymore. I haven't really been as b***hy and I've actually been rather friendly with muggleborns. " She explained. "Like I said I guess it's a good thing, it's just different."

"Well I guess that's a good thing for me." He said with just a little bit of a smile. "I know I'm boring but hey there are a lot of friendly and more fun muggleborns then myself. I'm glad you're expanding your horizon so you can see people past their blood. You get to make so many more friends that way. I honestly wish more people would change that way."

Angela smiled at him. "I actualy like you. You seem sane," She joked. But it was true she had met some crazy people. And some muggle borns made it very difficult for her to try and be civil with. Some of them she really wanted to act the way she used to. It was nice to meet one that she could actually sit with and not want to kill. "And there are a lot of slytherins I've met here that say the aren't randomly abusing mugle borns somehow. I guess some people are realizing it doesn't matter." Angela shrugged.

"Good, because I actually think you're sane as well."He said with a smile "And I guess that's all great news for me then. It's always nice to know that not everyone has it in for us." he teased, he knew a lot of people didn't care that much, it was just the few that did and took it to the extremes that were the problem.

Angela smiled at John. He seemed really nice. 'See muggle borns can't be all that bad.' She thought. "Well you seem really nice.." Angela began. "I'm going to consider you my friend." Angela said smiling at him.
