Title: Visiting An Old Friend
Description: [Open]

Evangeline Winters - July 2, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
Evangeline walked into the hospital wing, looking for Jeraud. It had been years since she had seen him and once she had found out he was working at Hogwarts too she just had to go visit. If there was one thing Evangeline loved more than clothes it was friends and socializing.

She stopped at a mirror and checked her appearance. Her hair was long and wavy, her shockingly bright pink robes and dress were without a wrinkle. Evangeline loved bright colors and she often wore them.

She looked around, and seeing that he wasn't there yet she walked over to a window and stared out at the grounds, waiting for him to arrive.

Jeraud Cynster - July 2, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
"Lucas if I ever see you in here again I swear..." Announcing this Jer glanced at the young boy who was smiling at him a mischievous look in his young gray eyes. This was the fifth time he'd seen the boy though the first three times had been last year. Even so Jer knew he was becoming fond of the kid no matter how much of annoying git he was.

"Jer you know you can't do anything about me." Hearing these words from Lucas made Jer laughed, truly amused. The boy didn't think he couldn't? Well wasn't he in for a surprise.

"You just wait and see next time you go off and do some foolish thing which in turn makes you end up here, in the Hospital wing." Saying this Jer grinned at the boy as he watched Lucas roll his eyes and walk off, probably toward his common room. While he watched him walk off Jer shook his head and heaved a sigh as he opened the doors to the Hospital Wing.

Stepping inside he began to whistle to himself. Though the moment his hazel eyes landed on the woman gazing out the window he stopped abruptly a full out grin spreading out on his face. Walking toward the woman, who was dressed brightly as usual he knew she'd probably heard him yelling outside the door. Even so that didn't render his happiness as he exclaimed.

"Evangeline, is that you?"

Evangeline Winters - July 2, 2008 09:30 PM (GMT)
Evangeline whirled around when she heard someone call her name. Instantly she recognized Jeraud, even though it had been several years since they had seen each other.

"Oh my god Jeruad!" she exclaimed, and she ran foward and hugged him, then stood back smiling and staring at him. "It's been ages, she said, "How've you been?"

Jeraud Cynster - July 2, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
As Jer stopped in his tracks a foot or so away from Evangeline he listened to her exclaim. He laughed almost automatically absentmindedly thinking he was glad he had no patients in today. He would have felt bad in waking them up after all. His train of thought though was suddenly interrupted as Evangeline ran to him and engulfed him in a hug. Almost falling backwards Jer laughed again as he regained his balance and hugged the woman back.

“Well hello to you to Evangeline,” Jer announced amused as she stood back and stared at him while asking how he was and telling him how long it’d been since they seen each other. He nodded along to her words trying to keep up with what she was saying. Combined with her happiness and fast talking her words almost seemed blurred. Thankfully though it wasn’t bad enough to where he couldn’t understand any word.

“Slow down Evangeline. I can hardly understand you,” Jer announced laughing before he finally went on to answer her questions his hazel eyes studying her. “I’ve been fairly well. Went off to France to studying healing, worked at St.Mungos then a muggle hospital in London and now I’m here. Been pretty busy for the past few years. A good thing I’d have to say. Anyways how about yourself? It looks like you have changed one bit.” Saying this Jer winked at her flashing her his trademark lop sided grin as he awaited her answer.

Evangeline Winters - July 3, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
Evangeline smiled and laughed. She had changed, quite a bit the last year and a half, but now she was trying to get her life back together.

"You studied healing?" she asked, remembering to speak slower, "So did I. I was a healer at St. Mungo's briefly but I resigned two years ago, six months after I started."

She paused to take a breath before continuing. "After I graduated I went off to study healing, became a healer. and got engaged. after my finace died I resigned though."

Her eyes darkened when she said that, but seconds later they were dancing with delight again.

"And now I'm a librairian!" she concluded, "I never pictured my self stuck in a library, I love books and all, but libraries are so quiet." She smiled. I least I can wear whatever I want!" she concluded.

Jeraud Cynster - July 3, 2008 09:54 PM (GMT)
As Jer listened to Evangeline talk about studying healing he smiled. She should have known or at least remembered that’s what he’d wanted to do all his life. Everyone who knew him did, after all. As she went on to announce that she had too he looked at her a bit surprised. He never remembered her speaking of learning healing, but it seemed like she did as she announced about working for St.Mungo’s. He laughed aloud when he realized they’d been working there at the same time. How could I have not noticed her?

“Evangeline you never did tell me you wanted to go into healing. Also I have to tell you we had to be working at the same time in St.Mungo’s. Though why we never saw each other or heard of each other is really beyond me.” Laughing slightly at his words Jer shook his head as he watched the woman take a deep breath before continuing. As he registered her next words and the dark look that flashed through her eyes about her fiancé’s death he frowned and instantly moved to hold her cheek in his hand, a comforting gesture, as his hazel eyes looked to her.

“I’m very sorry for your loss Evangeline.” Saying this softly he let his hand drop from her cheek as he sent her an apologetic smile. He knew what it was like to loose someone you loved. Though he didn’t go the way she had and resigned from healing, he kept going. Even though it was hard sometimes and he despised himself for making the choice he wouldn’t let himself go back. Not now and not ever.

While both of they’re sudden bad thoughts died away he watched as Evangeline’s eyes brightened and she told him about her librarian job here at Hogwarts. Laughing quietly at her exclamations he spoke. “Well I’m sure you’ll either learn to be quiet or change the library rules upside down. Which would definitely be a sight to see I admit.” Pausing for a moment he let himself grin before saying, “Congratulations on the job.”

Evangeline Winters - July 5, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Evangeline listened to Jer and knew he was right, they should have noticed each other at St. Mungo's. However, thoughout the year she had worked there she had either been spaced out planning her wedding and daydreaming, or lost in a depression and grieving for Joshua.

"I worked on the fourth flour," she told him, "Spell Damage. It was a sad ward but it was were I wanted to be, trying to find a way to help some of those people, to return them to who they used to be. When we suceeded it was like a miracle--but when we failed it was heartreaking." She realized that she was rambling and stopped, but deep down she missed her work, even though she knew she could never work there again.

She noticed the suprised expression when she told him that she had studied healing. "Not what you expected huh?" she teased playfully. "I did consider a type of fashion designer thing, creating pretty, modern new styles but I didn't think it sell well." she stated, looking down at her own hot pink robes, which had taken her forever to find. "For some odd reasons most witches and wizards prefer black," she shrugged.

She was touched when Jer placed a comforting hand on her cheek and realized that she should have kept in touch with him more--and her other friends after Hogwarts.

"Oh maybe," she said when he mentioned her changing the libraries rules. "That would be something to bring up at the next staff meeting," she added with a smile.

Jeraud Cynster - July 6, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
As Jer listened to Evangeline explain on why they probably didn’t see each other he nodded. He worked pretty much anywhere but he understood exactly what she meant. Using healing took up ones full attention and not to mention time. He hardly got to ever just hang out. He remembered his mum complaining half the time she never got to see him. Telling him he worked to hard and that if he didn’t slow down he’d age thirty years before he even started his career fully. Jer had laughed at her words then, but now he knew exactly what she meant. Part of him sometimes didn’t feel like the twenty four almost twenty five year old he was, but forty five sometimes or even older.

“I know exactly what you mean Evangeline. I’m sure all healers do. Even muggle ones. Actually I know that for a fact. Probably one of the few.” Saying this Jer smiled softly at her. There had been to many times in the past eight or so years he’d dealt with a situation like that. And sometimes some weren’t even his own. Shaking his thoughts away Jer listened to Evangeline’s teasing playfulness at his shock of her becoming a healer. He laughed at her first words and nodded his head. That had been the last thing he expected actually. He watched as she looked down and poke about fashion designing and wizard and witches only liking black robes. He grinned at her as he spoke, taking in her hot pink cloak.

“Well my dear I think hot pink might not be what magical folk are looking for but I know some like blue, green, black and etc colors. Maybe you should create a couple and see how they sell. Give it a shot. After all I’m sure some of the students might take a liking to your…creative styles.” Announcing this Jer flashed her a encouraging smile though it soon died away as they spoke about her deceased fiancé. He touched a comforting hand to her cheek and told her how sorry he was. Part of him wanted to scold her for not letting him know about this. After all he still cared for his Hogwarts friends, but it seemed he’d lost contact with pretty much everyone. A thing Jer suddenly thought was a bad thing. Briefly he wondered on what happened to everyone. Were they okay? Were they famous, married, alone, even alive?

Shaking his head at his thoughts Jer ran a hand through his hair as they went on to speak about her being a librarian. Hearing Evangeline’s reaction and comments to changing the rules he laughed. “You definitely should. Though I’m sure most wouldn’t agree to change the rules. After all everything needs rules right? Plus it’s a library, it’s supposed to be a place of peace, quiet, and knowledge. I can see some of the students starting an uproar now.”

Evangeline Winters - July 7, 2008 10:39 AM (GMT)
Evangeline laughed. "You know you can call me Evie if you want. Evangeline is a bit long to say. And I suppose your right about the rules. Although I already made some minor changes."

She studied him, her eyes full of curiosity. "So, besides healing, what have you been up to?" she asked. "No wife, kids, exciting tales of near death experiences?" she asked, thinking of her own and how much fun she used to have before Josh died. Now she was just coming out of her year and a half of isolation and she felt new to everything. She was by nature a happy person but sometimes she felt she was only smiling because others expected it.

She was jarred from her thoughts when he began to speak.

Jeraud Cynster - July 7, 2008 08:00 PM (GMT)
Hearing Evangeline laugh and tell him he could call her Evie he smiled along with her. It was a nick name he'd forgotten over the time, but of course he wouldn't tell her that. That would make it seem like he'd forgotten all about her which he really hadn't...not to an extent anyways. Though Jer knew she shouldn't feel alone after all he'd forgotten about most friends during the past eight years. A mistake he was just starting to realize.

coming out of his thoughts Jer laughed at her minor changes comment. Raising a curious eyebrow her way he asked, "What type of minor changes my dear Evie?” Smiling at the woman he waited for her to answer when she went ahead and watched him curiously then asked about him. What he'd been doing, was there a wife and kids, where'd he been and things such as that. he smiled a little sadly at her as she went ahead and asked. There wasn't much to tell her. After all his life had been fully concentrated on healing, his career, his life until now.

"To tell you the truth I haven't been up to much of anything other than healing. That is until I came here. It's made me realize how much I've missed and dismissed the past eight years." Saying this Jer paused as his sad smile turned into a regular smile as if trying to reassure her that it didn't bother him much, but it did. "So to the kids and wife thing, nope neither. Not even a girlfriend. Surprising? And really no exciting tales of near death experiences." Shrugging lightly at his words he ran a hand through his hair to hide the slight discomfort of the subject.

"How about you? I know you almost got married...any children you haven't spoken of? Near death experiences?"

Evangeline Winters - July 7, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
"Oh you know, just minor things..." she replied, "Maybe voice level, eating in the library. I swear I must have lost ten pounds working in there and not being able to eat to 'set an example' so others will follow that rule."

She had noted the sad smile when he had spoken of wasting eight years. She could relate to him a little there, she had spent the last year not even leaving her house, and she told him so.

"No children," she said sadly. "Almost once," she said added wistfully.

"Near deah exxperiences? Ha! I'm like a magnet for trouble, I don't even know why, it's not like I go around being mean and horrible to people. I think the worst one yet was when I fell off my broomstick, I love Qudditch, I'm usually a good flyer," she rambled, begining to talk a little bit faster, "But we were playing through a storm and my broom got struck by lighting...fell right off once it caught on fire...I'm kind of scared of fire..." she added, letting her voice trail off when she realized how much she had been talking, and she flashed an apologetic half-smile.

Jeraud Cynster - July 8, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
As Jer listened to Evangeline talk about the minor things, well rules, she’d changed about the library he felt himself laugh. It was just like her to go and change those rules first. Though part of him assumed anyone probably would, but this was just what he expected from her. After all he knew most students hated the now eating rule, but the noise level one, even though annoying Jer had to admit was needed. That was one place that saved him while studying, literally. If it hadn’t been for the peace and quiet of the library he would have failed, Jer was sure of it.

Shaking his head a small smile on his face Jer went on to speak about eight years wasted and to end it with how she’d been. What she’d been up to, where she’d been, any kids and of course she answered them all. Hearing the wistfulness in her voice as she spoke about one time almost having a child Jer couldn’t help but wonder what had happened. Did it become once because of health reasons or maybe personal ones? Getting no answer’s to these question made him itch with curiosity though he knew it wasn’t his business even though he was a friend and healer. Something were just better left unsaid after all.

As Evangeline went on to speak Jer had to stay fully intent on her and nothing else to understand what she was saying. Once again she was adopting the fast talking that he’d always connected with her. He felt himself smile briefly at the words of loving Quidditch knowing anyone who didn’t was bloody insane. Though when she spoke about the storm and almost falling off he frowned. No wonder why she’s scared of fire, I would be too, Jer thought to himself with a shake of the head as he watched flash him an apologetic half smile. Smiling back automatically he went ahead and spoke.

“Well it definitely sounds like you’re a trouble magnet. I hope I don’t see you in the Hospital Wing, and I don’t mean that in a mean way.” Pausing for a moment he smiled at her before adding. “I’m glad to hear you didn’t get too hurt when that storm caught your broom on fire and left you falling. How far did you come close to hitting the ground?” After he said this Jer suddenly realized how oblivious he was. She probably didn’t want to talk about it after all.

“Oh you don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to.”

Evangeline Winters - July 9, 2008 12:55 AM (GMT)
Evangeline smiled. "Oh I don't mind," she said with a small wave of her hand. "Once it was over and I was dry I found the whole thing pretty funny. Got back on my broom the next day. And I didn't really come that close to hitting the ground, I fell about a hundred feet into a river."

"I saw you smile wehn I mentioned Quidditch. Still fanatical about it?" she teased gently, laughing.

Jeraud Cynster - July 10, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
As Jer listened to Evangeline speak about not minding the question Jer smiled, actually very curious now as he listened to her answer. He was a little surprised, to say the least, to hear that she thought the experience funny after everything had died down. For all he knew, he wouldn’t have thought it so funny. After all it was a near death experience.

Shaking his head briefly he listened on about how she’d actually fell about a hundred feet into a river. He couldn’t help but smile and think her lucky. If she hadn’t been above the river after all things wouldn’t have ended nicely and he assumed they wouldn’t be standing her talking. Frowning slightly at those thoughts he spoke.

“Well I have to admit you are one lucky woman Evie. Thank god the river was there, other wise well….you know.” Trailing off he smiled at her before listening to her teasing question. He couldn’t help but laugh along with her while he shrugged. “Well I always have been. What makes you think that’ll change? Anyways yes I still love the game though it’s a shame I haven’t been able to play much of late.”

OOC: Sorry about shortness and badness. This post isn't a great one, lol.

Evangeline Winters - July 11, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
"Who doesn't have time for Quidditch?" asked Evangeline in mock suprise. "Along with shopping it's one of life's neccessities."

"Well yea, I'd be dead," she said, the smile gone, "But I always learned it's better to laugh than cry, you should meet my mother, she's like a double of me."

[OOC: It's fine, mine's short and bad too lol]
