Evangeline stepped out from behind a bookcase, her arms ladden with books that had just been returned. They needed to be reshelved and being the librairian, she had to do it.

She was carrying the high stack, her high heels clicking as she walked, when she stepped on the hem of her bright purple robes and went crashing to the ground, landing in an undignified heap, the careful pile now ruined and lying around her.

Ricky rushed into the librrary. He needed to collect some more scrolls from the librarien to use and his lesson was today! He ran and tripped over the form of the librarien. The very sexy librarien.
"Oof," he said landing flat on his stomach. He quickly got up and pulled the librarien up with him.
"I am sorry," he said. "I'm Ricky Ladder, Ancient Runes professer."

Wow, thought Evangeline, Someone who speaks as fast as I do Of course he could have just been in a rush but that thought didn't cross her mind.

He apologized for tripping over her, which wasn't really his fault, and helped her up.

"It's not your fault," replied Evangeline, "I was the one sitting on the floor. I'm Evangeline, the new librairian. You can call me Evie if you want, Evangeline is a long name to say..."

Then she looked down at the stack of books that now lay on the floor, scattered around.

"Oh great," she muttered, hands on her hips. "I just had to slip."

"Okay," said Ricky. "I'll help if you like."
He started picking up books and handing them back to Evangeline. It was a little tiring.
"So have these all gotta be stacked by subject?" He asked.

Evangeine smiled at him."Not exactly. There stacked by subject, grouped by author, and then alphabetized. But I think I remember how they go..."


"So, what brought you into the library in such a rush today?" she asked him.

"Oh, I was gonna ask you if I could have some more scrolls for my Ancient Runes Class. They've had the simple ones and I'm giving them the backwards ones next week but I need to start lesson-planning for the week after and I can't do that if I haven't get the simplified Latin scrolls."

Evangelin nodded. "Of course," she said, lifting a thick, ancient book. "I've been moving things around though so those are in the back, behind the bookshelve--" he stopped and changed mid-sentence, standing up and leaving the stacked books on the floor.

"Come on I'll show you where they are," she said and began to lead him to the back row.

They reached at she turned around, pointing out the correct cabinet, only to find herself face-to-face with Ricky.

"Evangeline...." He said softly before pulling in to kiss the gorgeous Librarien. He had always known he had a crush on her. And now he sincerely hoped she had a crush on him to. He didn't want it to ruin their friendship. He wanted to love her. He was totally innocent.

Evangeline instinctively kissed him back and closed her eyes. Several moments passed before she realized that this was the first guy she was kissing since Josh, almost a year later, and that the were still in the library.

She pulled away and looked at him with wide, shocked eyes.

Ricky felt regrettful as her lips pulled away. That was his first kiss since his High School relationship with Juliette.Then he suddenly remembered how he had kissed Aria. First proper kiss then since Juliette. "What?" He said gently.

Evangeline stared at him for several seconds before responding to his question. "It's nothing, it's just I haven't kissed anyone since my finace died...it's stupid. She reached into the drawer and pulled out several scrolls.

"Will these do?" she asked.

"Oh, I'm sorry," Said Ricky, "Yes these will do fine. But Evangeline, I'm always up for dinner if you want..." and with that he left the library having acheived his task. And found a possible romance...It was a very positive outcome on the whole indeed. Ricky grinned and set off down the corridor

Evangeline watched him go and her thoughts turned back to her dead finace. A single tear slipped out of her eye and made its way down her cheek.
