Title: One Ho-hum Day.
Description: Angela, Belien.
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
The sun hung low in the sky, and the birds sang a sweet song of sleep. Adriaan ignored as much of this as he could. Animals weren’t really his thing. He flipped the page of his book, an old tattered paperback that looked as if he should have read a hole through it by now. The spine held itself together by threads a flopped in his hands as he read from one page to the other.
There were so many other things that he could be doing than reading a book for the millionth time. But who cared? He looked at the trees around him, eyeing it for the birds that chirped so annoyingly. But he couldn’t see them through the thick leaves. He sighed and rubbed his eyes. Normally he could concentrate through anything, even the obnoxious noise in the Great Hall. Maybe it was because the book, or maybe because today he just wasn’t in to reading, whatever the reason he couldn’t keep his mind from slipping away in to thought.
He closed the book and put it on the ground next to him, not yet ready to put it away, he may want to read in a bit. But that was doubtful. He laid his head on the tree behind him and he watched the water ripple with the wind. Today was so boring, he couldn’t even read. Shaking his head he grabbed his book, opened it, and set it on his face. Perhaps a nap would help.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
Belien snaked her way through the crowded hall way. How irritating these stupid people were. Most of them walking aimlessly, most of them muggle-mixed, most of them… oh who cared? They just needed to get out of her way. She nudged past a group of cackling girls then bumped through some idiotic boys. She should have just cut dinner so that she could have avoided the mob of people that swarmed the halls with no particular place to go.
Eventually she made her way outside of the school. The sun wasn’t very high in the sky; then again she had just gotten out of dinner. It hadn’t occurred to her that it was so late. Her body heaved with relief, she could at least have some time to herself. She hadn’t been wandering around for long before she came across some bum propped up on a tree. She laughed, seeing the book. She knew who this was. Slowly she inched closer to the boy, “Evanesco” she whispered pointing her wand at the book. It steadily vanished leaving his face in plain view. His mouth was open, taking in deep breaths that came with sleep. She laughed and nudged his leg with her boot. “Wake up.” She demanded.
Angela Jiminez - July 8, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
Angela decided to take a walk to clear here mind of the recent events. She barely even ate any dinner tonight. She wasn't hungry. Then again she could feel the eyes of her Cousin Trey burning into the back of her the entire time, it did make her loose her appetite. And then when she noticed he wasn't glaring at her, he was staring at Carly. She sighed and decided to just continue to walk around. She really couldn't believe hr cousin was actually here, and that he was the one spying on her.
“Evanesco”
“Wake up.”
She heard someone say. She decided to go alittle closer maybe she knew whoever was talking. She was a few feet away from a girl. She had never seen her before and shrugged. But then looked up. In the tree appeared to be someone who looked like Adriaan. Imediately Angela smiled and decided to continue appraoching.
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 05:28 AM (GMT)
Adriaan snorted, his head rocked forward. He squinted at the girl in front of him, not quite awake. Where was his book? "What?" he asked groggily. His eyes rolled around, not knowing which way was up or down. "What do you want?" he said as he patted around, looking for his book. Maybe it had fallen on to the ground?
Unfortunately his clumsy hands couldn't find that old dingy book. “You see a book anywhere?” His question rolled off his sleepy tongue. Who was this person anyway? He looked at the person, and she seemed familiar but between the poor lighting and his brain being foggy with sleep he couldn’t tell.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 05:37 AM (GMT)
Belien laughed haughtily at her nephew and watched him fumble in the dirt in his sleepy stupor. “Aw, poor thing can’t find his book.” She mocked him. “If you hadn’t been sleeping maybe you would know where it was.” Her arms folded “And you would know who you were talking to, Adriaan.” She snorted. “Don’t think just because we aren’t at home you can treat me like all the little pricks that also go to school with us.” What a horrible attitude this one had. She tapped her boot on the ground.
“But its okay, I won’t tell Hector.” Her eyes drew from Adriaan to some girl that seemed to have thought it a good idea to come close. “Who are you?” She snapped, not really caring to know who she was.
Angela Jiminez - July 8, 2008 05:42 AM (GMT)
Angela finally got closer to them. She heard the girl rudely ask who she was. She rolled her eyes slightly at the girls attitude. No doubt Slytherin. "I'm Angela." She said looking at her like what does it matter to you. She looked up in the tree. "Hey Adriaan." Angela said smiling at him. She really didn't care if this girl was rude to her, a lot of Slytherin's were. She was rude too sometimes. But then again it doens't mean she wanted to just take it.
"Who are you?" She asked repeating her question back at her. She seemed like a friend of Adriaan's so she didn't want to really sound mean.
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 05:58 AM (GMT)
Adriaan had, of course, realized who this was. He smirked at his aunt’s snobby attitude. What could he do? Seventeen years she had been this way, he couldn’t change her. Slowly he edged his way from the tree, dropping to the ground just beside Belien. He turned from Belien to that girl she had aimed her attitude towards. He hadn’t caught the name, but he apparently knew her because she had addressed him too. “Oh, hey Angela!” He said with a big smile.
What an idiot, he couldn’t even recognize his friend’s voice. He continued to talk, not wanting to give Belien a chance to peg Angela with any more attitude. “This is Belien. Belien, Angela is a close friend. You know, She’s a Slytherin too.” He offered as a sort of peace treaty between the two, though he knew a little better. Belien was in no way going to like Angela.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 06:01 AM (GMT)
Oh, god. He knew this little girl? Belien smiled, though it was pained. She could feel surges of jealousy ripping their way through her. Her arms snaked around Adriaan from behind, and she poked her head around him. “I’m his aunty.” Her voice had taken a sudden change. She actually sounded... kind.
But that kind tone was fake, the sweet smile was fake, all of her would be fake until she got this silly little girl alone. “How do you two know each other?” she asked looking from Angela up to Adriaan, then back to Angela. A sly smirk crossed her face. Poor Angela, she was just no competition for family. Her arms tightened around Adriaan's mid section, and she held him in a sort of back-hug.
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 06:08 AM (GMT)
Angela smiled at Adriaan when he finally realized that it was her. But quickly it faded. He introduced the two of them. Of course she was a sltherin, well atleast now she knew she was too. She noticed her fak smile right away. Too mant years of her cousin using that schmooze his way around. She decided to follow putting on her best fake smile.
Angela thought how to answer her question. "Just friends, met in school talked a couple times about some interesting topics. Some a bit personal." She added at the end. She 'smiled' at Belien. She noticed how she was on top of Adriaan. She didn't have family that ever hugged her like that. She found it a bit odd. She didn't realize the slightly confused expression on her face that she quickly wiped off.
"Aunt? Wow is weird haing a nephew close to your own age?" She asked. She wasn't a complete idiot, she knew how that was possible.
ooc: Dan I forgot to switch accounts...sorry lol
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 06:15 AM (GMT)
Adriaan wrapped his fingers around Belien’s hands and loosened her grip. “What did you do with my book?” He questioned. Maybe, just maybe Belien could be nice for once. He had seen her do it before, but that was when she wanted attention. Now, she had it. Not to mention she had his, even if it was partial. That was enough to fuel her need.
"I think it's weird to have an Aunt that's only a year older than me. But... I guess it's interesting." He laughed. This was the way his family was. Closer than most families, and sometimes –mostly because of Belien’s jealous tendencies- close enough to make other people feel awkward. He squirmed from her death grip and waited for her to answer his question. That was one of his favorite books. And he hadn’t finished reading it the one-hundred-and-seventy-seventh time. His goal was to get to two-hundred reads before it fell completely apart.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 06:26 AM (GMT)
Belien groaned, “What do you want with that silly book anyway? It’s so old I’m surprised all the pages haven’t fallen out by now.” Her arms dropped to her sides, letting Adriaan go. “If you must have it I don’t know where it went. I sent it flying over there with a spell.” She said pointing in to the distance. Of course this was a lie, like she cared if she had wiped his copy of some muggle-written book off the face of the planet. Her pale green eyes slithered down Angela. At least she wasn’t ugly.
A light laugh escaped from her as she thought of hexes she could put on this girl. “Angela, it’s nice to meet you. Any friend of Adriaan’s is surely a friend of mine.” She said giving her a cold look.
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 06:30 AM (GMT)
Ha...yea sure. Very beliveable. She thought. She wasn't believing a single word she said but none the less put on a smile. "Nice to meet you too. You seem really nice." She added. "Who knows maybe we can be friends too." She lied through her teeth. She wondered what would happen if Adriaan left. "Mabe you should go look for that book over there Adriaan." Angela suggested.
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 06:34 AM (GMT)
Adriaan smiled at Belien, “I’m going to go look for it then.” He said slinking off. “I’ll be right back.” He yelled. Obviously using a spell to retrieve the book hadn’t occurred to this dolt. He was truly oblivious; thinking that leaving those two alone would result in anything but dangerous friction.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 06:43 AM (GMT)
Belien waved at her nephew as he left, and watched his back until she couldn’t see it through the dark. Her eyes whipped to Angela. “What a smart little girl I have here.” She said pacing towards her. “Aren’t you just the cutest little thing?” Her words were drowned in sarcasm. Her steps were slow, but steady and she smirked. This time it wasn’t fake, but it surely wasn’t a kind look. More like a cat when it has its prey cornered.
She stopped only a step from Angela. “I bet you’re even a mutt-lover.” Her arms crossed and she set the weight of her body on her right hip. She chuckled at Angela, knowing this little mouse wouldn’t go down with out a fight.
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 06:54 AM (GMT)
Angela returned the smirk. "Oh yes I'm bloody brilliant." She said crossing her arms. "Well soeone sure puts up an act around their nephew doesn't she?"
Angel rolled her eyes at the girl She had gone through a reality check since the last time she saw Adriaan. "Mutt lover funny." Angela said with a hint of sarcasm. "Um...more like tollerator, until I'm out of this school." Angela said. She didn't feel the need to defend her self to her. Even if she was some mud blood lover, which she wasn't she would be proud of who she was.
Even though she hated her cousin sometimes she wished her was here. She was pretty sure Belien would shut right up when confronted by him. He used to defend her in times like this, now she wasn't sure if he'd even look at her the same. Just for have doubt in her mind. She stopped thinkong, she was sure the sadness appeared on her face. She didn't need Belien thinking it was because of her.
She smirked again looking up at her. "So no, not a mudblood lover." She concluded.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 07:11 AM (GMT)
"Oh, you're not?" she hissed. What a quirky little girl. Maybe it would be fun to play cat and mouse with her. “Well, I’m so sad to say that you should keep your filthy little hands away from my nephew.” Her voice was low, and calm. “I don’t care how happy he may make you.” She stepped around Angela, striding in a circle around her. “I can see it. You’re just about as bad at hiding how happy he makes you as I am when I get jealous.”
Her eyes took in Angela, and she paused behind her. Her hands slithered up to Angela’s hair, touching it lightly and examining it. She was looking at this girl like a piece of meat. “I may pretend when it comes to him, little girl, but when he isn’t around you’d better watch yourself.” Her words lashed out. She didn’t know if she would hurt this girl or not. It was definitely possible.
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 07:21 AM (GMT)
Angela just rolled her eyes. "Well my hands happen to be clean. And I will put them anywhere I want to." Angela said turning her head to glare at her. She was right though. He did make her happy and it was obvious, but she didn't care.
Angela slapped her hand away. "Talk about keeping ones dirty hands to themselves." She sneered at her. "And I'm not the one who should be watching herself."
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 07:31 AM (GMT)
Belien laughed at her, “Oh, little girl, you’re very funny.” Her hands drew from Angela but Belien kept a smug look on her face. “Tell me, do you think you’re powerful and cruel enough to have born a mark of the dark lord when he was still here?” Her smirk spread in to a smile. “Because if you aren’t cold-blooded enough to kill me, I wouldn’t challenge me.”
The thing about Belien was that she was crazy enough to kill. She would do it gladly, and for no reason. How her issues hadn’t been noticed by anyone in the school’s ‘glorious’ staff was befuddling to her. There had been plenty of times where she had shown the tendencies of a killer. But what did she care?
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 07:41 AM (GMT)
Angela eyed her. She was so much like her cousin is was scary. Boy would they get along she thought. She rolled her eyes at the previous thought she had. She knew last year she was well prepared to kill anyone, but recently not so much. Even though it seemed like she was slowly becoing herself again she knew she would be abke to kill anyone any time soon. So she lied.
"Killing you would mean nothing to me."
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 07:45 AM (GMT)
Belien laughed heartily at this. Seemingly joyful of the challenge Angela had brought against her. “Oh kitten, we’re in for some fun then.” She hissed with a big smile on her face. Whether she was ready to try and take on Belien or not, Angela had no idea what this meant to Belien. "You have no idea how much I was hoping you would say that,"
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 07:50 AM (GMT)
Angela held her head up high. She didn't care if she was bluffing, it was too late to back down. "Yea and why is that?" She asked glaring at her arms still crossed. Since she reminded her so much of her cousin, if she was anything like him then she was serious. Mabe even would kill her if Adriaan wasn't anywhere near them. She didn't care. She wasn't going to cowar in front of her.
Adriaan Murphy - July 8, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)
Adriaan had been looking for his book for sometime now. He had put his glasses on, hoping that somehow they would help. They didn't. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He guess it was time to give up. Slowly he walked back to the two, looking for his book the whole way.
"Hey" he called when he finally saw the two girls. Well, Angela wasn't missing limbs and hand't been turned in to a frog. This was nice. "I couldn't find my book Belien." He said as he came up to the two of them.
Belien Murphy - July 8, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
Belien drew her attention from Angela. Adriaan was coming back. Belien smiled, “I’m sorry you couldn’t find it, maybe I don’t know the strength of my own spells.” She smiled sweetly. “Maybe your mom will send you some more of those boring books.” She looked from Adriaan to Angela. “Well, I’m getting tired. I think I’m going go finish up my homework.” She said as she walked to Adriaan and gave him a light hug. Her eyes turned to Angela and she gave a quick smirk.
“Goodnight.” She called back to them as she walked away.
Trey Raynes - July 8, 2008 10:17 PM (GMT)
Angela threw her a fake smile. "Nice meeting yo Belien. Night." She said trying to sound as nice as possible.
Adriaan Murphy - July 20, 2008 05:39 AM (GMT)
(ooc. I died! Done in by the devilish school and job! So sorry I havn't been able to get online for a whilw.)
Adriaan watched Belien walk away. He hadn't bothered to call good night after her, knowing her she would wait for him to go in for the night and ambush him with her billions of favors she needs. He sighed and look back to Angela. "Was she too mean?" he asked with a sympathetic look.
Trey Raynes - July 20, 2008 03:20 PM (GMT)
ooc:Oh no thank goodness someone revived you... It's ok..lol
BIC: Angela took in a deep breath. "Oh not at all." She said lying. Bu then again it's not like she was a ray of snshine to her either. "Just a typical slytherin Which is normal and fine to me obviously." She said with a litte shrug and shooting him a smile. She wasn't exacty sure if she would see Belien aain but if she did it culd proove to be really interesting.
Adriaan Murphy - July 22, 2008 01:35 AM (GMT)
He laughed "Yeah, I suppose even if she was katty you'd be used to it." It hadn't occured to him that Angela was also in Slytherin and would probably be acustomed to the attitude that Belien had. "So, how have you been lately?"
Angela Jiminez - July 22, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
Angela smiled. Belien didn't scare her she reminded of her of a lot of other slytherin girls thinking thy were better than everyone. She rolled her eyes at the thought of her. She smiled when he asked her how she's been. "Well I've been perfectly fine, what about you? Talk about bing a stranger, haven't talked to you in awhile." She added smiling at him.
Adriaan Murphy - July 22, 2008 02:05 AM (GMT)
"I've been just fine. A little annoyed with Belien and her antics, but what can I say?" he shrugged. "Your uncle been bothering you with crude letters?" He was curious, though not exactly sure why.
Angela Jiminez - July 22, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
"Oh no letters." She said sighing. "But I found out who was spying on me. My cousin, his son, go a job here as the assistant DADA professor." She said rolling her eyes. "He's already got a reputation of being some horrible evil guy." She sighed.
"What about you aunties antics? What exactly does she do to you?" She asked changing the subject.
Adriaan Murphy - July 22, 2008 05:05 AM (GMT)
"She just asks me for a lot of things. She misses the family all the time and, I guess you can say, takes it out on me? It's not that she's mean she's just reminds me a little of a clingy girlfriend." He shrugged. "It's not too bad until she decides to mess with my things. She goes after my books a lot. She's with my family when it comes to hating Muggles."
Adriaan wondered if he had met her cousin, but doubted it. He probably would remember if he had met him.
Davina Ashford - July 22, 2008 02:51 PM (GMT)
"Ah.." She said trailing off. She found it odd to have a family member act like that. She then realized that her family was odd compared to others so for all she knew that was how a normal family was. Shr shrugged a bit before looking back up at him. "Well sounds like fun having a clingy aunt." She joked.
ooc: Darn forgot to switch
Adriaan Murphy - July 24, 2008 08:36 AM (GMT)
He ran his hand through his hair "Yeah, if you say so." He mummbled making a face at her. "So I take it you don't much enjoy your cousin?" he asked.
Angela Jiminez - July 26, 2008 02:41 AM (GMT)
Angela smiled then sighed somewhat when he mentioned her cousin. She remembered a time when her and her cousin used to get along. That was before he became a death eater though. He changed since then, and they haven't been close since,
"Um, no not really." She sighed. She wished they did though, but that wont happen until he changes which in her mind would never happen. "We haven't really gottn along for awhile. Maybe since I was like nine." She said with a forced chuckle.
She wanted to change the subject. She didn't enjoy talking about her family, it wasn't always the most pleasant topic. She looked up at Adriaan. There had been something on her mind and it would change this family subject they were on.
"Random question, but um.." She said with a small cough as she cleared her throat. "A few days ago...um...what was up with that random k-kiss." She stuttered out as she looked down at her hands where her fingers seemed to be twiddling nervously.
Adriaan Murphy - August 1, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
Adriaan scratched the back of his head, his eyes looking at the ground as if they had an answer to her question. What an awkward moment. He let the silence linger in the air, and it seemed to grow thicker by the second. He couldn't hear the wind, the trees moving, nothing.
"That kiss? Well.. I'm not sure. It just seemed like it was supposed to happen." He smiled feebly, but didn't look up from the ground. "Why'd you kiss back?"
Angela Jiminez - August 1, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
Angelalooked around having her eyes scan around to anything that wasn't him. "Well because I wanted to." she said feeling the blood rush to her cheeks again. Why did she need to blush this much around him. It was more embarrassing than whatever she was embarrassed about.
Adriaan Murphy - August 1, 2008 05:49 AM (GMT)
Adriaan glanced at her and smiled. "Then, I guess it was supposed to happen. " He laughed lightly at her blushing. "What do you make of it?" He said smirking at her. He did wonder what she thought about it. Did she think they should date? He laughed at the idea. Not because he thought it was funny, but because he had never really dated anyone before.
Usually, if he got used to a girl, he would just flirt and kiss and not make anything of it. And when they would ask, well, he would just avoid them. But Angela actually made those stupid little butterflies pop up in his stomach. So maybe he could give a relationship a try.
Angela Jiminez - August 1, 2008 05:57 AM (GMT)
She thought briefly about the last guy she actually had feelings for. He wound up cheating on her with her friend. She really hadn't given anyone a second look after that, her trust issues getting in the way.
Angela looked up finally and looked at him letting her bluching subside slightly. "I..I don't make anything of it..I mean yea. Nothing." She said rambling and stuttering out.
"Well I mean.." She began a little hesistantly. "I don't just go off lkissing people you know." She said crossing her arms. "I guess what I'm saying is, I like you." She said alittle surprised that she managed to say that clearly. She wondered if she should have said that, well it was too late now.
Adriaan Murphy - August 1, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
He smiled, "So you do make a little something of it." He cleared his throat "You like me, and I like you. So does that mean we should date?" He paused, he didn't know quite where his courage had come from. "Or we could just stay friends, I suppose it's all up to you."
Angela Jiminez - August 1, 2008 04:36 PM (GMT)
Angela couldn't help but smile. Her blushing was almost gone now andher fingers weren't twiddling as much. "All up to me huh?" She said still smiling. Stay friends? No she didn't want to just stay friends. "I think we should date." She said trying to control any blushing from returning to her face.
