Title: Sitting and Waiting
Description: Becca

Blane had nothing better to do tonight than walk around the lake. It was just after dinner and he should've been doing his homework. He didn't mind putting it off, though. He'd most likely get it done before it had to be turned in. If he didn't, his favorite Professor, Proffesor Raynes, would most likely excuse him considering it was for that class anyway. He loved being Professor Raynes favorite student. It got him out of so much and he knew he was powerful. It just worked out.
Making his way to a tree next to the lake, he stared out onto it. He loved to come and sit out there sometimes. He'd occasionally just go out there and wait for a Mudblood to come along so he'd have someone to mess with. He climbed up his favorite tree, it was no fun sitting where everyone could see him. They would avoid him then. He sat high in a branch and smirked. He couldn't wait for someone to come along.

Rebecca sighed angrily to herself as she pushed herself out of the doors that led onto the grounds of Hogwarts. She'd just got in a fight with a friend of hers and now she needed to let off some steam. Though how she let off steam wasn't by cursing at anyone that walked by, that just wasn't like the Hufflepuff. Oh no what Rebecca usually did was find a quiet place and sit, just sit and reminisce. Usually the quiet place insisted of being outside and since this was dinner time and hardly anyone was out she thought it the best place.
Thinking these thoughts Rebecca ran hand over her hair which was let up in a loose ponytail, the effect of it being loose causing strands to fall out of place, not that she really minded right now. Letting her blue eyes suddenly roam at this point in her thoughts Rebecca searched for somewhere to sit. A place no one occupied. That's when she saw the tree by the lake. Perfect, she thought to herself a small smile adorning her features as she made her way over.
Once she'd reached the tree Rebecca didn't bother looking up to see if anyone occupied the tree but instead sat done with a ‘humph’ and stretched out her legs in front of her. Doing this she took one last look around, her blue eyes used to the dark now, before the back of her head leaned against the tree and she closed her eyes to think all the while unaware of the person above her.

While sitting and waiting in his tree, he thought a lot about his life. Things seemed to be going good for him. He was used to everything being almost good enough, but not quite. Especially with his family. That had always brought him down in every other aspect of his life. Things with his mother and father had been just the same as always, not hearing from them. Or when he did, it was his father bothering him about some DE stuff. He didn't mind that too much, but he wished his parents would send him a letter just to see how he was doing. He sighed.
In the midst of his thoughts, he didn't see the girl below him walk up and sit. This made him a little agitated. Did she not see him? This was his tree, atleast when he was out there. And he did not appreciate other people occupying it when he did. He stood up on his branch and jumped down, landing right in front of her. He wasn't sure what to do yet, but he turned around and stared down at her with his piercing blue eyes.

Rebecca had been in her thoughts wondering where she'd went wrong today with Cassandra. One word about him and her friend just exploded and in front of everyone! That was very unlike Cassandra, but nevertheless she was angry it washing over her concern for the girl for the moment. Though Rebecca knew that wouldn't be for long. Soon, probably tonight she'd forgive and forget, finding it hard to stay mad for long, and go talk to Cassandra. Though right now she need her space and so did the girl.
Sighing quietly at her thoughts Rebecca suddenly heard noises up above her as if someone was moving. Knowing this she didn't open her eyes, probably not a smart thing. As she heard a swoosh and heard, rather than felt a presence suddenly land in front of her she felt her heart begin to pound. After all even though her eyes had been closed the person, male or female, had surprised her let alone scared her.
Thinking these thoughts Rebecca finally opened her eyes a few moments after the person before her landed. What met her gaze though startled her so that her own blue eyes widened slightly. The guys own blue eyes were piercing, watching her, and there was no mistaking the slight agitation rolling off from him in waves. Smiling slightly at this she glanced around them before straightening up and turning back to him.
"Ummm....well....hmmm...." Pausing for a moment she bit her lip wondering what she should say. After all he'd just suddenly showed up and continued to stare at her with that piercing gaze. Finally she decided to go with, "...Can I help you?"

When he landed in front of the girl, he was surprised to notice that she hadn't even opened her eyes. She must've heard him, it wasn't exactly a quiet fall. She either didn't care or she was too scared to open them. After a few moments, she finally opened them and her eyes met with Blanes. Her eyes were a very profounding blue, but not like his own. He knew he had piercing eyes, and used that to his advantage.
She didn't say anything at first. She just looked around, for a reason Blane wasn't very sure of. He was going to be the first to speak, but decided to wait and see if she would say anything good. Maybe she was a mudblood and he could have fun with her. She finally spoke up, just mumbling at first. He cocked his head slightly to the side as she did this. A question eventually escaped from her lips. "Can i help you?"
He wasn't sure what to make of this. Her voice was more clam than anything, but didn't know if she was trying to be rude or not. So going with his first instinct, he gave her his typical attitude. "Actually, i was wondering why you decided to occupy my tree while i'm out here?" He never broke his gaze with her.

Rebecca watched as her first muttered words got a c*ck of the head from the boy in front of her. Watching him as she finally went ahead and asked if she could help him she couldn't help but take in his appearance. When her eyes finally landed back to his piercing gaze she had to admit he was good looking. He was the tall, blonde hair, blue eyed boy. A perfect match some would say and she had to agree. Nevertheless she tuned her thoughts away from that topic and listened as he finally spoke.
Keeping eye contact with the boy Rebecca felt a tad bit of annoyance build up in her as she heard his tone of voice and the way he said my tree. Instantly she pegged him as one of the typical Slytherins, but she quickly frowned at that assumption. Even though the facts were laid out before her she couldn’t assume just yet. After all that was only the first thing he'd said. Not to mention that most Slytherins she'd met were actually nice, at least to her.
Shaking her head at these thoughts Rebecca put on a smile, though it wasn't truly fake as she spoke. "Well first off I have to say I'm sorry. I didn't happen to look up and see if anyone resided in the tree. Though now that I know this is yours and I'm obviously not welcome-" Pausing for a brief moment her small smile widened, her voice still holding soft non angered tones. "I think I'll just leave." And with that she pulled her feet to her and began to stand.

As Blane waited for the girls answer, he took the time to look at her. She was not someone that he's ever seen before. She was pretty, though. Her blue eyes were what really caught his attention. If there was a major weakness that he had for girls, it was her eyes. Not only the color, but the way she used them. You could tell a lot from a persons eyes. He caught himself thinking this and shook it away. He didn't know anything about this girl. She could be someone he did not want to associate with; a mudblood specifically.
He forced his thoughts back to what she was saying. Her voice stayed calm the whole time. He didn't know how she did it, he could never. He nodded at her apology, his blue eyes softening a bit. Atleast she sounded sincere. Her next comment really threw him off, though. He watched as she began to stand. He wasn't sure what to do now. He wanted to atleast know a little about her, but hated to seem like he really wanted something. He was too proud to ask.
"Well no one is forcing you to leave, but if you'd really like to..then be my guest." He tried his best to sound like he didn't care. It sounded convincing to him, but he'd have to wait and see what her reaction was.

There was no mistaking the small surprise that lit the boy’s face at her words of leaving. She let her smile falter though she wanted to keep it as she stood up, knowing what was probably coming next from the boy. When she heard his words, now fully standing at her new height of five foot seven, Rebecca brushed a few strands of loose hair behind her ears and peered at him her blue eyes intent. If she wanted to she could go ahead and tease him, but she got the feeling he probably wouldn’t handle that well. She thought she’d pushed her luck tonight so she just settled for a wide smile instead.
“Hmm you know you are right. It’s just you seem like, from your words, that you didn’t want me here and I won’t force myself on anyone that doesn’t want me here.” Pausing for a moment she continued to gaze at the boy, watching him for reactions to her words. “Though now that it seems like no is forcing me I guess I will stay. After all it’ll be best for me.” Nodding at her words Rebecca flashed the boy a grin before sitting back down, though this time she sat crisscrossed her hands in her lap. Once she was comfortable she looked back up to the boy and spoke her words holding a small hint of teasing in them not being able to help it..
“Well are you just going to stand there or are you going to sit?” Without waiting for a reply Rebecca went ahead and introduced herself, feeling it was needed. “I’m Rebecca by the way. Rebecca Emery.”

Blane saw the look on the girls face when he spoke. He wasn't really sure what to make of it at first. She was pretty mysterious and something about that made her more interesting. When she first spoke, he raised an eyebrow and his mind wandered. He had a bad habit of thinking things that were inappropriate and mainly never relevant, but he couldn't help it. He smirked at that.
She decided to stay, and Blane couldn't lie to himself..he was a little glad. Now he'd have the chance to atleast figure out if she was a mudblood or not. He didn't think she was. He had a way of figuring it out as soon as someone spoke. He was almost certain she was pureblood. She smiled at him and sat down. He wasn't sure what he should do. He didn't want to come off too nice at first, he did have a reputation to pertain to. He decided he'd be luke warm with this girl.
She offered him a seat and he couldn't help but notice that her tone of voice changed a bit. She sounded more flirtacious now. He kind of liked it. He flashed her a smile, a smile that most girls seemed to fall in love with. He was proud of that. He then sat down in front of her. "I'm Blane MacLean." He let his blue eyes land on hers.

As Rebecca noticed the smirk adorn the boy’s features as she rambled on about if she should or should not leave she rose a quizzical eyebrow, wondering what he had been thinking. Then again she thought it probably best that she didn’t know, after all guys had some of the most annoying, strange, confusing thoughts along with other things. Laughing a little at this she shook her head and sat down as she finally introduced herself.
Watching the boy smile at her, a smile that she could tell would make any girl melt at his feet, she smiled right back. The effect of his smile didn’t bother her that much, but she did have the decency to blush a little a very small tint of pink rising in her cheeks which she tried to brush away as she brushed a hand across her cheek as if wiping something off. Sighing slightly at her actions, knowing there was no such luck in achieving her goal, Rebecca watched the boy who she now knew as Blane sit directly in front of her his beautiful blue eyes connecting with her own blue orbs.
“It’s nice to meet you Blane.” Rebecca announced smiling at him before she went ahead and asked conversationally, “So what were you doing up in your tree? Scoping out your surroundings or perhaps watching everyone in the vicinity?”
