Tessa had been wandering the castle for quite some time. After finally realizing that nothing of excitement was going to happen inside, she made her way outside to the lake she'd heard so much about. Once there, she slipped off her shoes and dug her toes down into the sand. The water lapped up over her feet making her sink farther into the sand. With two big squelching noises, she pulled her feet back to the surface.Tessa glanced down to see a smooth flat rock resting by her foot. She picked it up and didn't spare a thought before tossing it across the water. It clunked into the water and sank.

"Ugh, why haven't I ever been able to do this?" she groaned.

With a new found determination, Tessa hunted for more flat rocks. When she had formed a nice little pile, she picked one up and tried skipping it again. Just like the first, it hit the water with a CLUNK and sank.

Ashton decided to not wander in the castle today. He seemed to get lost all the time. Outside seemed better, it would hard for him to get lost outside. He walked along a path and spotted the lake. He shrugged and decided to check it out. He heard a CLUNK. Curiously he peered over at a girl who was attempting to skip rocks. "Need any help with that?" He asked smiling at her.

Vero watched from a distance by the big .....tree, Vero looked up, not quite sure what kind of tree it was. Vero re focused her attention on the girl and boy skipping rock on the lake. Vero was hesitant to join them, she was painfully shy when it came to new people, but she promised herself that she would try to be different at Hogwarts, not quite the geek she was in the muggle world.

Vero hoped that were not as mean and spiteful has the kids in the muggle world, if so she did not know how she would make it though school. Vero had her fair share of enemies through school but all with good reason of course. Vero pushed away from the tree and headed towards the lake. As she approached, she pushed her hair out of her eyes and licked her lips.

"Do you mind if i join you?" Vero ask cautiously.

Keera walked out into the lush grass of the Hogwarts Grounds. She was really happy today, smiling as she looked everywhere for a spot to sit. Three people caught her eye, one throwing a rock into a somewhat hungry lake. She decided to approach them. She was willing to approach anyone these days.
Keera walked to them, smiling.
"Hello!" she said. "Whatcha doing?"
Keera might have seemed a bit weird to them but she didn't care.

Tessa was startled by the voice behind her. She scowled at the newcomer. "No, as a matter of fact, I don't." she hissed. She picked up a rock and threw it. Just like all the others, it clunked and sank. "Okay, maybe I could use a few pointers." Her face grew red and she turned away embarrassed.

Seconds later another new face appeared. Tessa didn't want the company but was in an unusually friendly mood. "Sure, I guess you can." Was all she said. Another girl then wandered in. Tessa wasn't used to meeting so many new people at the same time and wasn't sure she liked it. She was beginning to feel uncomfortable.

Vero watched as she throw another rock into the lake and it sank to the bottom. Vero breathed a sigh of relief when the girl said she did not mind if she joined them.

Vero smiled and said "I'm Vero and you guys are?" She said as she looked at the girl she did not look like she was in a good mood. Vero watched her scowl as someone behind her and turned around. Vero watched as the girl cheerfully walked towards then and asked how they where doing. The girl practically bounced.

"Good, are you?" Vero said with a slight grin.

"I'm great!" she said, bouncing some more. "My name's Keera. Keera Webster."
She stuck out her hand, willing her to shake it.
Then, saw the girl throw yet another rock and the lake swallowing it again.
"Don't worry, I've never been able to do that either." she said. "I just guessed that the lake was always hungry when I'm throwing those rocks. Try doing it when they're full.."
Keera grinned.
She had always been very theoretical, even if those theories didn't make any sense to those around her or, even, to Keera herself.

Vero watched as she happily said she was fine then stuck out her hand.
Vero took it and shook.
"Hi, I'm Vero. You are extremely happy, aren't ya?" Vero asked while she was shaking her hand. Vero is a happy person but not this kind of happy she had never seen anyone this happy. Vero herself was a little nervous with all the people around, she was not a social butterfly like most people, it took a lot of courage just to walk over here and talk to them.

Vero raised her eyebrows when she explained that the lake was hungry and to wait till it was full. Vero glanced at the lake wondering if that was truly possible. This was Hogwarts and a lot of things were possible.

"Yeah, I am. Well, today I am, anyway." she said, happily. "Don't get your head into one of my weird theories. It's just confusing."
She grinned.
She searched for a rock and threw it on the lake. It sank.
"Can you do it, Vero?" she asked, handing a rock to her.

Vero grabbed the rock from Keera, and studied it. It was flat enough so t should skim the surface of the lake. Vero throw the rock sideways in a way and watch it sink to the bottom. "Darn." Vero said. "Is it possible that the lake can be hungry?" Vero said as she turned to Keera.

Keera watched as Vero's rock sank and laughed when she asked her a question.
"Nah, that was one of my stupid theories." she said, grinning. "With a whole monster in it, I doubt it'll be very hungry."
She giggled.
"It was just an unlucky throw. Try again." she said.

Vero laughed at Keera's joke and picked up another rock.
"Why don't you try?" Vero said with a small smile on her face as her rock sank again."Darn. This is so much easier in the muggle world." Vero said as she searched around for the perfect flat rock. "AAH." Vero said when she found the perfect rock.

"Go on, then." Keera urged, finding a rock of her own. "Let's see who goes the furthest."
Keera's flew 2metres away and bounced once, sinking afterwards.
"Wow." she said, amazed at herself. "That was a first."

Vero watches as Keera's rock went pretty far and know that her's would be no comparison. Vero throw her rock and it was a complete girl throw she was thoroughly ashamed of herself her brothers would have laughed themselves silly over this. Vero sighed and put the rocked down she had.

"You want to go over by the tree and sit for a bit? My legs are tired and by the looks of this the lake is still very hungry even with the monster in there." Vero said with a little smile and walked her way over to the tree and sat down.

Occ: Sorry completely forgot about this thread, i am so scatterbrained, it looks like the others are not coming back.

"Yes, I think that'd be appropriate." she said, following Vero to the tree and sitting beside her. "So, have a good holidays, Vero?"

Vero frowned a little where Keera asked her question. Was the a general topic starter around here? Keera was the third person to ask her that today.

"Yes, i had a good holiday. Visit the family, die a little, then come back and do homework. And yourself? I'm sorry, i have a strange sense of humor and you are the third person to ask me that question today." Vero said with a little giggle. Vero pulled her hair up into a ponytail and got comfortable.

"So tell me a little about herself, Keera. What classes are you taking? there are so many here i did not know what classes to take at first, but it worked out and i like what i am taking. Oh, if i talk to much, tell me please." Vero said with a smile and scratched her right ear.

"Who's been asking?" she asked, curious. "I had a great holiday, thank you. Went skiing with the family. So, that was fun, but very cold."
She half laughed.
"No, no. You're not talking too much." she said. "I'm still thinking of what to take.. Well, I'm taking Potions, but I don't what else yet."

"Everybody i have even glanced at in a friendly way, and out pops, How was your holiday? It just must be a great conversion starter." Vero said with a shake of her head.

"Good, because sometimes i talk way to much and don't know it. You are only taking potions? I am talking Arithmancy, potions, DADA, CoMC, Trans and several others. But i think i over loaded myself because i am dying under all the homework." Vero said has she counted her classes off on her fingers.

OOC: sorry, I forgot about this topic!

Keera felt stupid that she had asked that question, but shrugged it off.
"Well, actually, I had just been thrown out of Potions.. For not attending classes.." she said, shrugging. "I lead a really busy life."
Keera laughed.
"I guess you do too, huh?" she said. "We all probably do. I'm going to sign up for more classes as soon as I get the time, of course."
