Noah wheeled himself around the grounds, going a little slowly because of the grass and rocks. Thankfully the grass was pretty trimmed or else he'd never be able to manuver his wheelchair around. He couldn't believe that after all of these years and everything that had happened in life he had winded back up at Hogwarts.

He remembered some of his old friends, not that he'd kept in touch with many after his accident, and wondered if they were here too. He had heard a lot of graduates had come back to work here reccently. Back when he had been a student, most of the staff had been older.

He was dressed, as usual, in blue jeans and a white polo shirt. On his feet were a pair of muggle sneakers, black converses.

He was wheeling himself around, aimlessly and lost in thought, when he came upon a pretty blonde that looked vaguely familiar.

Gen had been wandering teh grounds enjoying the beautiful day. She was wearing a pair of pink shorts and a white tank top and some white flip flops. She had been pndering the party she was going to have for Evie. She wasnt sure who to invite.

Just as she was lost in thought, she came across a new face on the grounds. SHe decided to walk over to him. As she approached, she spoke. "Hi. I noticed your new around here. Im Genevieve." She said with her hand stuck out.

She had noticed that he was in a wheel chair and wndered what was wrong with his legs. She felt it rude to ask, so she didnt say anythign for teh time being.

"Hello," he replied in his low voice. "I'm Noah. You aren't from Gryffindor, are you, because you seem vaguely familiar."

He shook the hand she had stuck out and noticed her glance at his legs. Feeling a bit self concious he turned his cahir around to stare out toward the forest. "Do you work at hogwarts?" he asked.

Gen could tell that Noah was a bit shy and self conscious. She shook his hand and askwered hsi question. "Yes I am actually! You look a bit familiar yourself. Did we go to school at the same time?" Gen asked. She made sure she did a good job at not looking at his legs. SHe realyl didnt care about them, just a bit curious.

Gen watched him turn his chair in embarassment. She didnt know how to make him feel better. She didnt want to bring up his legs and make him feel bad. Gen decided to just answer his question. "Oh yes! Im the potions professor and I am also teh head of the auror department at the minsitry." Gen said excitedly. She blushed a bit and said, "I guess you only wanted to know if I worked at teh school or not. Sorry I get a bit carried away." Gen said.

"It'd fine," he said, "I worked for the Auror department briefly," he said, "But I didn't really find it to my liking. As for going to school at the same time...I'm twenty five, so you do the math," he said, smiling a little. The last time he had asked a witch for his age things hadn't gone well.

"Potion's Professor, huh? Do your students like you?" He hadn't liked his own Potion's teach, he remembered, but he did love the subject.

Gen was intrigued when he said he worked for the auror department. "Oh well I havent had anything big to do yet. Its actually kind of a boring job." Gen said giggling. She flashed him a cute smile.

"Well Im 22 so we would have been three years apart. So we did go to school at the same time." Gen said thinking for a moment. Her blonde curls blowing in the wind. "I dont remember seeing you around." Gen said frowning.

"Most of the students like me. Theres always a few that dont. I try to make Potions a fun class. The teacher they had before was abit strict. I want my student to haev fun." Gen said smiling. "So what are you doing back at hogwarts?" Gen asked.

"I was usually flying or studying," he replied. "That's probably why you didn't see me." he said, flashing a smile. "I just have a good memory."

"Yea, the old potions teacher was strict. But I love potions regardless, as long as it's challenging and I'm brewing something complicated."

"I couldn't think of anywhere else to go," he said when she asked him why he was back at Hogwarts. "I decided to apply as a caretaker, wait to see if anything else crops up,"

Gen heard him say flying or studying. "Oh I have never been a good flyer and I was always studying too, and making trouble." Gen said blushing a bit.

Gen was glad to har someone else liked potions. She always felt liek a nerd for liking potions. She also felt bad that he had nowhere else to go. "Caretaker is a good job." Gen said. "Can I ask why you have nowhere else to go?" Gen said hesitantly.

"It's not like I have no where else to go," he said slowly, "I have my house, it's just that sitting around at home all day is boring. I want to do something, except there isn't much I'm qualified to do anymore," he finished, a trace of bitterness in his voice.

Gen felt she hit on a touchy subject. but didnt know how to get out of it. She fumbled with her hands for a moment and said. "Yeah I know what you mean. I wouldnt be able to stay at home all day either. id have to get otu eventually." Gen said. She could tell that he was bitter so she blurted out how she felt. "Ya know I dont care about you being in a wheelchair. Please dont feel slef conscious around me. Your a very nice guy and also very good looking." Gen said and blushed a bit.

Noah stared at the woman in front of him, his eyes widening in shock and his mouth hanging partially open. He couldn't believe she had just blurted that out, after knowing him for about minutes.

She had to be a muggle-born or half-blood, like himself, he thought, to be so outspoken. He wondered how to reply to her. He began with the part of being self-concious.

"I'm uncomfortable with nosy people," he said, "People who walk up to me and demand to know all the gorey details. I'm actually not that self-concious anymore," he finished, knowing inside it ws partially true, but basically a lie. No one would ever see his legs but a healer when he went for check ups.

"Secondly, you shouldn't be so quick to judge whether I am a nice man or not. I can be a right a** sometimes," he said, flashing a small grin. "And you're pretty good-looking yourself," he finished, turning his wheelchair back around to face her.

After seeing Noahs reaction Gen couldnt help but to blush. She felt so bad. But once he spoke, Gen felt loads better. "Oh well Im not trying to be nosey, I just wanted to let you know how I feel." She said half smiling and brushing her hair behind her ear. She smiled and felt very relieved to hear him joke. "I guess Ill have to wait and see how much of an asshole you are." Gen said smiling. She also blushed heavily when he said she was good looking. "Thanks." That was the only thing she could think to say. "So what do you like to do for fun?" She asked wanting to learn more about Noah. He seemed like someone she could go to for anything, just a generally nice guy,

"Well I'm glad to hear you're not nosey," he said, winking "And you don't want to catch me on an 'asshole day', they do come around every now and then." H was half teasing and half serious, there were days he just woke up in a bad mood, usually days when his legs were bothering him, or after check up, when he saw no progress was being made.

"I don't really go out too much anymore, but I guess for fun I'd watch some Quidditch, go out to eat or to a muggle concert or something. I used to be a big party guy before." He said, adding, "What do you do for fun?" He bet she had a whole calendar buzzing with plans.

Gen laughed at his little jokes. "Yeah I know what a bad day feels like." She said thinking back to her first days as the potions professor. She listened to Noahs answer to her question. Then answered the one he asked her. "Oh I love the outdoors so I try to be outside a lot. I also like to watch Quidditch since Im no good at playing it." She said giggling. "I also like to throw parties. Theres actually a party tonight at my place if youd like to come." Gen said smiling.

Noah nodded when she mentioned a party at her place. "I'll see," he said, "Maybe I'll drop by." He could probably get a portkey there and back, he figured.

"I like animals, I used to spend a lot of times outdoors, studying them, but I hardly ever do now," he admitted. "And I can never imagine not watching Quidditch," he concluded, flashing a sxy smile.

Gen was happy when she ehard he liked animals. "Oh I love animals too! We seem to have a few things in common." Gen pointed out, blushign a bit. They kept on walking, well hkim wheeling, around the grounds. Gen liked him. She felt he was a good person and he would be a good person to have as a friend. Gen was a bit lost for words though, nto knowing what to talk about next.

Noah noticed Gen seemed to be at a loss for words. He felt a bit suprised, and said teasingly, "Cat got your tongue?" He wondered about what to say, something to take the awkward feeling away, and break the ice.

"So what brought you to the grounds today?" he asked, wondering why she was alone.

Gen blushed. She was never at a loss for words, but this time was diferent. She had a lot of things going through her mind. Jer, Trey trying to hurt Jer, and Gen stuck in the middle of it. "Oh I came out here to relax. I have no plans and everyone is busy so I decided to take a stroll, since I love teh outdoors." She said smiling.

"I see," he said. "I guess it's the same thing for me, I'm trying to decide what to do, I haven't decided if it's what I want to do, I was thinking of working on some of my research too. Trying some potions I've been planning in my head."

"Or maybe waiting until a teaching position becomes available."

He kept his eyes on the ground before him as he talked, his face pensive.

Gen perked up when he said something about potions. "Your making your own potions? You could be my assistant! I could use some help with the hethens I have in class." Gen said excitedly. "We would have a lot of fun! You should definitly apply for it!"

"Yea, maybe I will." He said, "I'd be glad to help you brew, but I'm also working on my own potion, hopefully to give back some strength to my legs." he added.

Gen felt a twinge of uncomfort when Noah brought up his legs again. "Oh thats great! Hows it coming along?" She asked hoping that this was a godo subject about his legs.

Noah noticed Gen looked a bit uncomforatble. He was feeling pretty relaxed aroung Gen now, he didn't want to make her uncomfortable. "So," he asked, "What would this position of Assitant require?"

Gen smiled. "Oh youd be working at my every beck and call." gen said not being able to hold back her laughter. "Im just kidding! Youd be helping me get thinsg ready before class and you could help out the students while were doing potions in class. Maybe Ill let you lecture once in awhile." Gen said flashing a sexy smile in his direction.

"Sounds good," he said, thinking about it. He'd get to brew his potions, help out with others, he did love potions so it seemed like a good idea to him.

"Alright," he said slowly, "I'll apply." He smirked at her sexy smile, she was very pretty, and gave her one of his own.

Gen smiled. She hugged Noah and said, "Thanks so much! I could use a little help in the classroom. I cant wait until you start!" Gen said as she huggedh im tightly.

Noah's eyes widened when she hugged him, immediatley his toughts began to wander and he had to pull them back. He hugged her back and said with a grin, "I'd like to help, in any way I can," and he winked. "Let's hope I get accepted." He stared a her, he was practically eye to eye with her because of his height, and wondered if she had a boyfriend. He usually had no trouble getting a date, but he hadn't had a serious relationship since his ex-finacee and was suprised he was thinking about her that way.

"I would be abe to use the Potion's lab right?" he asked, still eyeing her and grinning. She seemed to be the whole package, smart, pretty, easy going. He waited for her to respond.

Gen could feel Noahs arms wrap around her tightly. This startled her for a moment, btu then she blew it off. She jeard him ask her a question. "Oh of course! Anytime you want. Ill give you a key to it and my office." Gen said flashing him a sexy smile.
