Title: Evening snacks
Description: Emily
Edith Birch - July 18, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
Edith walked into the great hall - it was quite early in the evening, maybe 8pm, but it was still pretty empty - most people chose to eat with their friends at the usual dinner time. Edith preferred to eat later on - usually there was loads of food left over, and there was far less noise. She sat down near the end of the Ravenclaw table, and picked up a slice of bread and began to butter it. As she did, she heard someone walking behind her, who then sat down a couple of seats away from her on the same table - not that the house tables really mattered at this hour, you could sit where you wanted and not really mind about someone arguing with you about it.
Edith looked across at the visitor, and grinned. "Midnight feast?" she asked, smiling, and gestured to the ceiling above them - being late spring, it was still pretty light, and even quite bright, as the sun hadn't yet set.

Emily walked into the hall. It was late and she was normally early. But she had been busy studying in the Library. Emily sat down at one of the tables. She didn't care if it was her own or not. It had the better food on it. Emily started eating when someone said something to her. "Yeah seems like it. Yourself?" Emily said. She decided to go sit down next to her. "I'm Emily Fall. 5th year Hufflepuff. Decided to sit here because it has the best looking food."

Edith looked across the table, which was littered with bowls of chips, chicken, spaghetti, vegetables and a variety of puddings. "Yeah, there is a pretty good spread here," she said, heaping vegetables onto her plate, "Oh, and I'm Edith, Edith Birch. Fifth year Ravenclaw. I think we're in the same potions class?" Edith smiled, munching her way through a piece of red bell pepper.

Emily got herself some hot chips and started munching on them. Emily looked over at her own table and sighed. "I don't see why some of the Hufflepuffs eat so much. The common room is right next to the Kitchens" Emily she to herself. Emily rolled her eyes when she thought of some Hufflepuffs. "Yeah I think so. I'm the girl who normally almost blows the classroom up" Emily laughed.
Edith Birch - July 19, 2008 12:59 PM (GMT)
"Haha, nice one. It's always fun to see an explosion. Even more fun when it's not your work that's blowing up." Edith smirked, she had never yet destroyed so much as a glass vial in potions, and hoped it would stay that way.
"And yeah, I don't get why you Hufflepuffs even bother coming down here, when you can just go to the kitchens. It would explain why some of you are a bit tubby," Edith said, winking at Emily to show she was joking.

Emily laughed. "Yeah I guess so. But we can be really fun at party's" Emily told Edith. Emily was still munching on her chips. "You want some?" Emily asked Edith. "You Ravenclaws aren't so great either. All nerds I say" Emily said, Emily winked at Edith like she did at Emily to knew she was also joking.

Edith shook her head, "No thanks," she said, "I don't like chips so much. And I agree, we are all complete geeks. Backstabbers too. Who wouldn't want to be friends with us?" she raised an eyebrow ironically, and bit into an apple, which gave a satisfying crunch as it met her lips.

Emily laughed. "Aren't our houses a wonderful bunch. I wonder hat it would be like to have all the houses at a party. The Gryffindors fighting with the Slytherins. The Hufflepuffs spiking the punch. The Ravenclaws planing how to kill everyone else. Sounds like a good time to me. Maybe we should have a party in the Room of Requirement or something and invite people from all the houses. It would be kinda fun" Emily said to Edith. It did sound kinda fun to Emily. "What ya think? I don't think it would be too bad. Those wouldn't happen, right?"
Edith Birch - August 25, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
Edith thought about what Emily was saying for a moment, chewing, before swallowing and saying "Well, I don't know. Hogwarts has changed a bit since, you know, the Battle. Not that I know about it personally, but from what I've read there used to be pretty different types of people in the houses. Haven't you noticed how weird it is around here?" Edith took another bite of grilled courgette. "Everyone is either ridiculously happy with their lives, or they've got some dark secret that they never want to tell anyone, and they just spill it to the first person they meet. I reckon," she swallowed again, "it's a conspiracy. Everyone's a robot. They're working from the inside to destroy the school. That's why all the kids seem to pick their house due to one tiny trait rather than their entire personalities. Maybe different robots like different colours, so slytherin robots liked green. I don't know. I think I've got a point though."
Edith looked at Emily again, realising she was talking quite sincerely and loudly about rubbish. Deciding she was too far into her mental ides to back out, she stared at Emily directly. "How can I be sure YOU aren't a robot? Huh? HUH!?!"
OOC - sorry, my own personal jab at the way people are making their characters on here. plus i wanted a bit of a laugh. oh, and my charrie is a muggleborn so she'll know what robots are. yours may not. but that makes it even more weird and strange, right?
