Maya tramped up the stairs of the owlery, with threelengths of parchment in her hand. All had scribblings on, the family scribble. Just thinking this made Maya upset. She allowed herself to fall apart as the tears drippedf down her cheeks. Somewhere inside she thought how stupid she would look if someone walked in and the she didn't really have a good reason to cry anyway.
God Maya, a little voice inside her said, just because your thinking of a family scribble, when your parents are adopted. Just because your adopted parents have forgotten to write to you...
Maya looked at a random peice of parchment she had put down beside her. She discovered it was to her ex.
Dear Finneas
How I hate having to turn you away like that but I understand why you had to write it. I can't imagine life without you as a friend by my side and hope you always will be there.
Maya
Maya felt like screwing up the paper. She wiped away the tears from her eyes as she heard someone walking up the stairs.
Vero walked up the steps to the owlery with a letter to her parents telling them that if she took a couple of days off, she would still of good grade and what ever homework she missed would be made up when she got back. Vero wondered how she was going to send the letter she had no owl, she had a cat. Interesting but not possible. Vero wondered how her parents could be such a thing she loved her grandfather more then any of them put together.
Vero walked into the owlery with her head down and did not see the other girl till she was half way through the room. Vero stopped and looked around, the girl seemed to have been crying, Vero was extremely nosy and had the urge to ask her what was wrong, but curved her tongue in time. Vero walked over to the girl and stuck out her hand with a smile.
"Hi, I'm Vero." Vero said has she curbed her tongue yet again. Vero pretended like the girl had not even been crying.
Maya was astonished that the girl had come upto her, le alone talked to her and pretended that she hadn't even been crying. She shook the hand that was held. out.
"I'm Maya," she said with a small attempt at a smile, "I'm a sixth year Hufflepuff, so if your a Slytherin and all you want to do is mock me, please go away."
Vero was a little astonished that the girl assumed that she was sixth year, let alone a slytherin, now that was a comment on the sixth year but am insult on the slytherin.
Vero was a little hurt when she withdrew her hand." No I'm not sixth year and i am most defiantly not Slytherin. I'm Gryffindor, and why in Merlin's name would would i make fun of you?" Vero said defensively as she found a school owl and tired the letter to it's leg sloppy.
