It was getting late, the sun starting to leave the sparkling lake and turn it into a dark, still, silent mass of water. Lucas sat on the ground his knees level with his chest, resting his arms on top of his knees. Lucas's head was empty no thought running through it except how calming the lake look at this moment in time...

Emily walked down the side of the lake. Nothing was running through her mind. It was blank for once in her life. No annoying visions bothering her. No stupid song in her head. Jut nothing. It was quite nice Emily thought. As she was walking down she spotted someone sitting by the lake. Emily walked up to him and said "If you aren't careful the giant squid in the lake might eat you."

Lucas heard someone approach, he didn't look towards them, trying to retain the stillness he had a second before, but it had gone. Lucas was not bothered however as he saw the opportunity to make a new friend. Lucas looked towards her and smile "Well if that were to happen it would at least give me something to do!" he said as he stood up.

Emily laughed. "I'm Emily Fall. You would be?" Emily said in her very French accent. Emily looked at the lake and shivered. That stupid lake almost cased Emily her life during the holidays. Emily looked away from the lake and said "I guess you don't mind giant squids then."

Lucas smiled "I would be Lucas Fox!" he said trying to sound less english in the shadow of her refined accent. Lucas looked back towards the water and let himself chuckle a little bit. "Its a small price to pay for such a awsome spot to hang at!" Lucas walked towards the lake "What is better around this place then this lake?" Turning back to see if she actually had a better place..

"The Forest is better in my view" Emily told Lucas (RICHARD!). "Oh and also this empty class on the 3rd floor." They had started walking. "I haven't seen you around much. You new here do you just lay low around school"

Lucas thought for a second as they walked "Maybe ill let you try and justify that sometime?" he asked rhetorically. Lucas laughed again "Well my time at Hogwarts has been very up and down and keeps getting interrupted, Im in 5th year and have only ever been here two entire years!" he carried on strolling at a very relaxed pace "What about you? what year?"

"Really. Why?" Emily asked. "Wait let me guess. Your just stupid" Emily said in a joking manner. "No just kidding. Why have you been a 5th year for 2 years?"

Lucas laughed, Emily's sense of humor was really refreshing. "Yeah thats it!" Lucas turned back to her and lowered his voice "Don't tell anyone?" he said with a smirk on his face. "Well first of all i had family problems and i had to go home, then a few months later i had to go back again for the same issue!" Lucas did not feel like expanding on that further right this second, unless it was pushed out of him.

Emily listened. She kinda understood. "Oh i know what you mean. My cousin had a month off school because of her parents death. But she finished Hogwarts" Emily said. "She's now the DADA professor believe it or not. I hope you don't mind me asking. You don't have to tell me. What problems?" Emil;y asked.

OOC: you happy now I replied.

Lucas laughed "It was a bit more than a month!" Lucas looked back out towards the lake "It was a death,but it wasn't my parents it was my brother, which then lead to my parents splitting up, but they still live together and get on, which is kind of strange." Lucas did not actually mind telling her.

Emily nodded. "Sorry. Well my brother died over the holidays. But Mum and Dad have Kate and I to look after. They are like a dream couple" Emily told Lucas (RICHARD!). "Yeah I does sound a bit strange. If my parents split up they would probably move to different sides of the earth to get away from eachother. Thats just the way they are."

Lucas was not smiling but he was not sad "I don't mind talking about it, it was two years ago now, but my parents stopped loving each other but didn't stop caring i guess, so they kept living together!" Lucas looked back at Emily "How old was your brother?"

Emily bit her lip. Talking about her brothers death wasn't her favourite thing to do. But it had to be done. "He was twenty" Emily said. Her smiled had gone away and a sader look had replaced it. Emily decided to change the subject. "So what do you want to do after school. Anything exciting?" Emily asked hoping he would carry on the subject of family's.

Lucas had no real life plans or objectives, he just went along in the present "I really don't know!" he looked forward again "I guess ill help my dad out fora bit till i decide what to do with myself!" Lucas still did not smile, but he was calm. "What about you? any major life plans?"

"Kinda. I want to do something with my gift of seering" Emily told Lucas (RICHARD!). People normally where surprised that Emily was a seer. When most people thought of a seer the thought of a crazy person with a crystal ball or something.

Lucas smiled "Thats cool!" Lucas was pleased that she had a skill "If your good at something you should do it right?" Lucas looked back towards her "Its quite an uncommon ability as well, which makes it even better!"

OOC: Ok that last bit did not make sense one bit.

"Yeah well it can be a curse at times" Emily said. "Its more seeing what had higher chances of happening. Not what will happen. I bet you have something special about yourself."

Lucas sat himself on the floor and looked out towards the lake "Yeah, being here you would think I would!" Lucas laughed to himself "But i really don't, Im just your average wizard student not really excelling or failing anything." Lucas was not telling the whole truth, he was a really talented basketball player, but he did not thinks he meant special in that way.
