Title: Wandering

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 07:12 PM (GMT)
Cassidy wandered through the familiar streets of Hogsmeade. The autumn weather was beginning to sink in, the air chilly, but not cold enough to need warmer clothes. Not yet, anyways. She had found herself unusually restless and having just spent the previous day in Diagon Alley had decided that Hogsmeade would be a good place to visit. On a day such as this, the streets were not as crowded, but still bustled with witches and wizards. She smiled, quite content to be wandering around for the moment. She let her feet take her, not really caring about where she ended up. She decided, though, that eventually she’d stop in the Three Broomsticks for a butterbeer. The thought of that made her mouth water, she couldn’t remember the last time she’d been there. With a pang, she remembered the visits she’d made to Hogsmeade with her school friends. The days they’d spent there just having fun. It had been a long time since she’d seen any of those friends, having lost contact with all of them. Cassidy felt guilty for that, knowing it was her own fault. She’d stopped answering the letters that had come from her friends, and eventually they stopped sending them. She sighed, pushing the thoughts out of her head. She was going to enjoy her day and not let these thoughts bother her any longer. Of course, having been so absorbed in her thoughts, Cass had not been paying attention to where she was going and promptly ran straight into someone. She stumbled backwards, her cheeks flushing in embarrassment. That was the second time she’d done that in the past two days. “Oh gosh, I’m really really sorry. I just wasn’t paying attention. I’m” Cass apologized, her words coming out fast.

Torree Kendrick - July 20, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
Torree found herself walking through Hogsmeade once again. After doing it the previous day and successfully meeting a friend, she figured that she would do it again. She just hoped she met more good people. Not someone like the man she met in the staffroom a bit ago. He was something else, and she was still trying to get that out of her mind. She would be thinking about it for a while to come and she knew it was just going to bother her.

She was going to try cutting through the alley from yesterday again, but decided it would be best if she didn't. Besides, the streets weren't nearly as crowded today so she didn't mind taking the time to walk all the way around to the other side of the buildings. She had not been paying attention at all as she was looking around for somewhere to go. Someone bumped into her, yet again. That seemed to be becoming a habit while in Hogsmeade. She was bumped backwards a few feet. When she looked up, she saw a girl and she was apologzing. Torree smiled, happy she atleast didn't wind up on the ground again. "It's alright, really. I'm getting used to it here." She laughed a bit. "You alright?"

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 07:30 PM (GMT)
Cassidy was admittedly frustrated with herself. She really needed to start paying attention to where she was going. It didn't help that she was a major clutz and ran into things all the time, but she really hated running into people, that was just embarrassing. Yesterday she'd bumped into a poor, old lady, that had been bad enough. But she was relieved when she found that the person she'd run into wasn't angry, or at least didn't appear angry.

Cassidy some how managed a friendly smile, although her cheeks were still flushed from the embarrassment of running into yet another person. "Yeah, I'm fine. Are you ok?" Cass asked, just to make sure. "Sorry about that though, it seems that I have a nasty habit of running people down these days. I guess I should pay more attention." So things weren't as bad as they could have been, but Cass still felt bad. She felt the need to keep apologizing, but decided that that could just make things worse.

Torree looked closely at the girl. Her cheeks were a bit red, and she guessed it was from being embarrassed. Though she wasn't sure why. It was hard for Torree to get embarrassed and she never got why. She was happy for that, though. She felt bad when people around her got embarrassed. She would hate to feel like that. "Oh, i'm fine." She said, waving her hand as if she was wiping the thought away.

She smiled at her again. "It's not all your fault. I was obviously paying just as much attention as you were, or i would've been able to avoid the situation." She was glad she ran into her, though. She now had a new friend to make. With this thought, she stuck her hand out. "I'm Torree, by the way. You can call me Torr, though." She smiled again. She always smiled.

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 07:46 PM (GMT)
The relief was now apparent on Cassidy's features. The red in her cheeks seemed to disappear as her embarassment faded. If anything, she was just glad that the girl before her was not upset. She made a mental note to pay more attention to where she was going in the future, at that thought, however, she realized how many people she'd actually met by litterally running into them. She had some good friends because of that. So maybe her clutziness was not such a curse after all.

Of course, when Torree stated her name, something clicked in Cass's head. She hesitated for just a moment, trying to figure out where she'd heard that name before. Suddenly she remembered Florent talking about her before, she was one of the other hopefuls. Shaking the girls hand, she introduced herself. "I'm Cassidy, or you can call me Cass or Cassi. Whatever works..... Do you happen to know someone by the name of Florent...?" She asked, curiously. She wondered if this was the same Torree, in any case, it seemed she'd made a new friend.

Torree Kendrick - July 20, 2008 07:59 PM (GMT)
Torree took notice to the hesitation in the girls actions. It seemed that she had stopped to think for a few moments. This worried her a bit, thinking that maybe she wasn't about to make a new friend. She couldn't help but always be a pessimist. She actually liked it that way. Then, if something bad did happen, atleast she was expecting it. She was about to take her hand back when the girl took her hand and introduced herself.

Torree smiled then let go of the girls hand when she continued to speak. Florent? That definitely didn't sound familiar. She figured she'd remember quickly if she had met him though, considering she's only met several people since being here. That name sounded French, and she had met a French man yesterday, but he said his name was Jacques. It couldn't be the same guy. Besides, there are probably tons of French people around. She finally shook her head. "No, i don't believe so. Why?"

OOC: Incase you didn't know, he lied about his name to her for whatever reason. But it is the same guy, lol.

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
Cassidy frowned, sure that this must be the same Torree. It wasn't exactly like Torree was a common name. But if she didn't know anyone by the name of Florent then how did that work? She shrugged, trying to think of a good excuse. for bringing up his name "Oh, sorry. I must've confused it with something else. I just thought you're name rang a bell for some reason, but I'm probably just confusing you with someone else. It's been known to happen."

Nonetheless, Cassi found herself rather confused. She was sure that Florent had named Torree and that really wasn't a common name, so how did that work? She decided to let it go and she'd just ask Florent about it later. "Anyways. Where were you headed?" She asked, desperately trying to change the topic of conversation.

Torree Kendrick - July 20, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
Torree tilted her head to the side while she waited for Cass to answer. She seemed like she was searching for an excuse as to why she asked that. When she finally answered, Torree looked at her strangely. It wasn't her she thought was strange, just the topic. Torree really wasn't a common name, and someone she didn't know told Cass about her. That worried her a little, thinking of all the possibilites. She looked around, almost as if she was searching for someone that looked suspicious. She then shook her head and looked back at Cass, who was now changing the subject.

Torree smiled again and shrugged. "No where really. I was just looking for some interesting people to talk to. Looks like i found one." She said that rather proudly. Then realized she probably sounded dumb, and she laughed at herself. "What about you?"

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
Cassi some how managed to push all thoughts of florent and his mention of Torree out of her head. She could see Torree's curiousity, and she knew that what she had said didn't make sense. She decided avoiding the topic as a whole was the best course of action, considering she really had no way of explaining herself. She was glad that Torree had gone along with the topic change.

Cassidy laughed, "Well I wouldn't go as far as saying that I'm interesting." She grinned, "Well I had the intention of running into someone and making a new friend . . . Actually, I was just out for the day because I was bored. I'm not heading in any particular direction." She shrugged.

Torree Kendrick - July 20, 2008 10:27 PM (GMT)
Torree laughed a bit. "Well you ran into me and gave me something to do for a little while. Interesting enough for me." She really did seem interesting. Torree had a way of telling what someone's going to be like right when she meets them. It was a very handy gift to have.

Torree nodded in agreement. "Yeah, i know what you mean. I've been just about everywhere here before, so there's nothing new and exciting to look at." She smiled, remembering all the good times she use to have here when she was a student. She misses being that young. "I was thinking about going to The Three Broomsticks soon."

Cassidy Lowe - July 20, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
Cassi grinned, quite happy at that statement. She was glad to be called interesting, but also glad that to find that Torree had been glad that she'd run into her. Soe things hadn't worked out so bad then. "Well I guess that works out then," she said, laughing somewhat. At this point her mood had lifted considerably.

She nodded in understanding. "It seems like I know this place better than I should. I know it all too well, it's almost getting boring!" She laughed, imagining the day Hogsmeade would become boring. Sure she'd been in Hogsmeade a lot, but each time it seemed to hold something new in store for her, which kept her coming back. Besides that, it allowed her to relive old memories. "Really? I was too. It's been a while since I've been there, so I figured I'd just kind of make my way slowly in that direction," she explained, feeling she was beginning to ramble a bit.
