Ok. Yeah, im a retard and i actually watch Avatar: The Last Airbender from nickelodeon. its really good!

So, being the looser i am, i wrote a fanfic on it. Im putting it in the fanfic section even if its not Harry Potter related.

Disclaimer: I do not own avatar, nickelodeon does. but i do own Kali, my original character in the story. See if you can follow it, even if you dont watch the show. critique is welcome, seeing as i suck at spelling and grammar

CHAPTER ONE

I am not really sure where she is anymore. I used to wonder about her, but shortly after starting my search for the Avatar, she slipped my mind. But now that I have seen the Avatar and I know my search is not fruitless, she occupies my thoughts. Especially when I am asleep.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Earth Kingdom was large, vast, huge, and any other word describing how the kingdom’s size caused Zuko to feel small and insignificant. Not that he normally didn’t anyways. Prince Zuko and his uncle had been traveling on the Avatar’s trail for the past two weeks. And although the pair was sure that the young avatar could be found in the Earth Kingdom, neither knew where in the vast land the avatar would be hiding.

“This is a waste of time Uncle! You and your tea are going to cost me the avatar!” Zuko ranted as the two made their way to the front gate of a Fire nation ruled Earth city.

“On the contrary, Zuko,” replied Iroh calmly, ignoring Zuko’s impatient outburst, “tea is essential if you want to have the stamina to find the avatar.” Zuko’s hands curled into fists, not in the mood for his uncle at the moment. Iroh chuckled, “besides, it puts me in a better mood, maybe it could do something for you, my short tempered nephew.” He laughed heartedly as he playfully elbowed Zuko in the ribs.

Zuko pushed away from his uncle and stomped ahead of him, rubbing his now sore ribs. “Thinks he is so funny.” The young prince grumbled as he walked up to the gate. A fire bender stood at the entrance, allowing only certain people into the city. This caused a line of hot, tired, and smelly earth kingdom citizens keeping Zuko and Iroh from getting in the city to purchase the tea. The longer it took to purchase the tea, the longer it took to resume the hunt for the Avatar.

Zuko pushed his way to the front of the line, ignoring the shouts of protest. He didn’t have time for this! First, it was hot and his temper was already low. Then, his uncles insisted on getting tea at the nearest city. And now, this guard was going to hold them up.

Zuko had had enough.

Two large fireballs were created in the prince’s fists before he hurled them against the gate, causing everyone to take many hurried steps away from him. The gates rattled as a long silence pursued. The fire bending guard did not look amused while it put out the fire.

“Who do you think you are!? You cannot just come barging in here. It upsets the order and these people are already testy from waiting in line. Do you want them to mug me?” ranted the guard as it stomped up to Zuko. Zuko was surprised to hear a female voice coming from the guard. Normally, the fire nation did not employ females, especially not females who were younger than even Zuko

“I…err….need in the city,” Zuko muttered, feeling humbled and a tad annoyed for being scolded in public.

“Then wait in line like the others,” she said poking him squarely in the chest. “Just because you’re fire nation doesn’t mean you get extra treatment” the young girl snapped at him, turning away. There was nothing else to be said. She was the guard and those were the rules.

Zuko steamed. Go back in line?!? Like a low scum civilian? Making him wait in line just to get in the city to buy tea. He was the prince of the fire nation! He deserved respect!

With incredible speed, Zuko’s hand snapped out and grabbed the girl’s wrist. He pulled the guard around so that she had to face him. His anger heated his hands, burning her skin. The young girl winced at the pain.

“I DEMAND TO BE LET INTO THIS CITY NOW! AND NO LOW LIFE GUARD IS GOING TO MAKE ME STAND IN LINE! I AM THE PRINCE AND I WANT IN NOW,” Zuko shouted as a hush fell over the crowd once again.

Zuko watched as the girl’s eyes widened, yet, strangely, they contained no fear . Odd. Even more odd was the fact that the girl did not do as she told, she just stared at him. Zuko, feeling a shiver down his spine, and let go of her. She did not step away.

“Zuko…” she whispered.

For the second time in moments, Zuko felt shivers. He almost recognized her from somewhere as she stared up at him… But before he could say anything else, Iroh appeared at his shoulder, tugging the boy away.

“Zuko! What are you doing? You are disturbing these people.” his uncle scolded, trying to act calmly despite his nephew’s irrational behavior. The young girl stood at the side, continuing to stare with her large gray eyes.

Iroh felt this stare as he looked over at the girl . An instant recognition shown in his eyes. He turned to her, leaving Zuko to calm down for a second. The boy cursed his uncle and the girl under his breath.

“Kali! Well this is a surprise” Iroh said, giving the guard Zuko had just been fighting with a polite bow, which she returned. “Look who you were attacking Zuko?”

But Zuko couldn’t say anything. He could just stare at the girl, his old best friend.
